Too early to give a top 10, maybe in a week or so
I don't really think the Dauphine has left us any wiser than when it started. Froome is the obvious favourite, and while Contador didn't do that well on paper, on the two summit finishes, at Valmorel he was only 4 secs behind Froome; and at Risoul he waited for Rogers.
Battle for 2nd, white, and green should all be close + interesting; especially white looks quite unpredictable - I count 4 real [sort of equal] contenders for that.
Green, should be between Sagan and Cav - I think Cav might edge it as I see him taking about 4-5 stages.
Let's hope that Bertie, Purito et al spice up the race with some attacks to make it more interesting than last year's euthanasia-inducing edition.

I hope a Giro-style fight for white between TVG and Pinot, maybe Quintana and Talansky as well.
Green is most likely Cav's and Froome will take yellow. Polkadot is more difficult to predict. D. Martin? Voeckler? Amador? Maybe some of the GC-guys whose classification failed?
I will wait with posting my 10, I first want to see all the teams completely. |

I am surprised many are giving the edge for green to Cavendish, as he is not able to ride over the single hill, but yeah, it seems that organiser made everything to him have a chance with half of Tour stages being pan flat boredom.
It will be competition i will be looking forward to the most, as Sagan will have to attack in several mountain stages to try and get midstage poits and breakaway wins (if someone will be crazy enough to let him go). We saw him climb like a mountain goat yesterday, if he will hold on hilly stages and will attack in descents, i can still see him beating Cav for green.
At least Sagan is having great team support of at least five, six riders, not one or two like last year. But unlike Cav, his success should not be directly connected to his train...

Also i fancy chances of Kreuziger this year. If he can stay in form from Switzerland, he can maybe aim for late top10 spot and be superdomestique for Contador. If he will ride Tour of course, nothing is decided yet, but would be strange to not include him...
He said he worked on his TT, but he says it every year, while he is getting worse in it.

Dennis? Sorry, but I don't see Dennis contending for white at all.
Talansky, TvG, Pinot, Quintana are all way, way, way better climbers than Dennis.
After the last month, I'm not entirely discounting the possibility of Dennis beating Froome.
EDIT: And go on. I know theres aleast one Dutchie I should have on that list (I just cant remember who is going tour and who is still in the white.)
Infact... is Kennaugh still eligable for white? I remember I got him into white at Vuelta on PCM but I forget which year I was on.
Kennaugh is still egliable. Not a contender though...
And in terms of the Dutchies, not really a contender.
Guys like Kruiswijk & Poels aren't egliable anymore this year.
Slagter said he want to give it a try, but I can't see it happenin. Still, can't see Dennis being a contender as well. If it was the 2012 route(TTs) I'd give him a tiny chance. Not now. I could be wrong though

The way I see it, there are only two contenders for the white jersey - Quintana and Pinot
Maybe Talansky as well if Hesjedal misses the race or shows up in crap form.

Lotto have announced their tour squad. Vandenbroeck, Greipel, Henderson, Roelandts, Sieberg, Hansen, Bak and De Clerq were already certitudes. Willems will be the 9th men. Good squad for both their goals, actually if I'm not mistaken the same squad as last year with De Clerq replacing Vanendert

I expect whoever wins white to be in the top 3 overall, which both Quintana and Pinot are capable of in my opinion. |

Willems replaces De Greef from the 2012 squad, if I'm not mistaken. |

What a shame that De Greef wont be able to go for a triple GT top 20

Yeah just checked indeed. I'm quite sure De Greef will have done that by the time he retires.

Van Garderen? He put 6 minutes to Pinot last year while working for Evans. I'm not sure Pinot has closed that gap just yet, even with less TT kilometers.

Quintana sure, if he doesn't have to work for Piti. Pinot I think not yet.

I find TVG rather overrated. Without the massive amount of TT kilometers, I find it hard to see him finishing ahead of much better climbers like Quintana and Pinot.

Pinot was also under Casar as a young super-domestique like TVG. Quintana can defeat TVG without the basis of having to help or not. Especially since Quintana doesn't need worry about helping anyone single-handedly, as Movistar has plenty of climbers to help out.
