Good performance by Devolder, even though the top 10 will be impossible is a good start for a top 15 or so. Otherwise I wouldn't complain if he got a stage win Trentino style.

I'm disappointed with both Plaza and Nicácio, this was a stage for them to be closer to the topGC guys. There's already enough stages for them to lose time to pure climbers, there was no need to do that in a TT...
Terrific report though, Count, that was very nice to read.

This was rather a mountain stage, with TT stat as the bonus for good result. And we started good with Popo on 5th, nice stage from our star and good start for top5 unofficial goal. Taramae and Kritskiy are imo unbeatable for first two places, so it will be hard battle with likes of Keijzer, Pozzo and Abal. Rogers needs to be distanced before the last TT. And i fear Alarcon...
Great result also from homeland hero Hesjedal, 17th with such an opposition is very good and beating TT champion of Canada in Christian Maier is a bonus.
Great report btw. very detailed and with lots of good thoughts about riders and teams, brilliant!

That was...unexpected.
And not good. We lose the yellow jersey bonus, after one whole stage of having it.
Fantastic.

Fuck Taaramae! and his goddamn 1 point .... arrrgghhhh
That said Routely was just outstanding today, really showing the big boys how to ride a race. Bodes well for the rest of the race, even if our only real chance at a stage win is gone now.

Up until 1km to the finish, no mentioning of Tinkoff Bank whatsoever, are we even in this race? Or are my riders taking a smart "rest"day? But then... Ba Da Ba Da Dah, I'm lovin' it!

How i ''hate'' to finish 8th in a stage still, not bad to see Keukeleire in the mix. Those small climbs in the flat stages should suit him.

Really nice to see that WWE is very active on this stage. Too bad it didn't go all in for Tankink.

Seems like we went back in time to PCM08 and Andy Schleck winning all the sprints in the Vuelta with that stage. |

Can't complain about a 2nd place in a HC stage, but being beaten by Kritsky in a mass sprint is somehow laughable isn't it? Also Plaza out of the top10 already is not a good sign at all by now.
I agree with Avin when he states nobody can interfere with the Kritsky vs Taaramae clash for the first two places.

A lot of Timofey Kritskiy haters
I don't get it, the only reason he came forward is because he is following Taaramäe's wheel (logical in my opinion)
Bruno Santos goes early, Rein starts to sprint, and almost gets to the wheel of Bruno, Timofey has left Rein's wheel just in time and takes over Bruno, who in retrospective went too early.
All the other sprinters are behind Zakarin, who of course isn't going to make the jump to his teammate.
Sprint teams will probably do a better job tomorrow, or maybe they are missing a good second sprinter/leadout in the squad/selection.

The wind played quite a role here. With Kritskiy again entering the mountains wearing the leaders jersey, it might get tough for the others to overtake him. I can only see Taaramae or Keizer dethrone him.

Say whaaat? Well let's put it the other way then: how would you feel if Santos won a mountain stage outsprinting Kritskiy?
This was a flat mass sprint stage won by a 68 SPR rider who jumped from a 60 SPR rider's wheel to overtake a 79 sprinter! Sure both Kritskiy and Taaramae have very good flat stats but the decisive move happened in the final meters when that shouldn't count that much. And I'm not even bringing Serebriakov into the equation.
How can you talk about logic?!

Play a second stage of a Grand Tour/Stage Race in PCM and you will often see a GC battle interfere with a mass sprint, lateron the sprinters take over, just to be clear we are talking about PCM-logic right!?

I'm not a hater - would just rather have seen a fast rider win a bunch sprint at the end of a flat stage.
Don't get me wrong though - I'd have been pleased if Pozzo won it, but still would have had the same feelings about a fastman winning. |

Seriously, who gave Kritskiy those hidden stats? Is the man-game management partying for russian money now?
Congrats Oleg, i am not hater, i am just jealous, because Popovych is almost same rider and is getting half of points this season.

Wooo 4th place. I'm pleased with that, taking stage profile and the team I brought into consideration.

They're getting paid. I tell you. They're getting paid. Just kidding. What a motherblooding sprint by Kritskiy. |

Lump near end and wind plays havoc with sprint. I have noticed certain GC riders are very good at getting involved in sprints, usually guys with high flat and sprint stats.
Kritskiy is a real dark horse for this Tinkoff on a role.

I get that. Maybe I'm asking too much by saying PCM is illogical in this kind of situation, but if there is something stupid with the game it is this.
