TMM, I've never seen anyone more raging and angry as you today. I couldn't even bother to count all the posts you've been ranting about Cyanide, Focus, new gameplay, schedules...
great release day for you! |

I just watched a gamplay on Youtube. Overall it looks great. But so far I have 2 issues.
1. The FITNESS. Why would they possibly make it only 5 levels. Just plain stupid change IMO
2. The new attacking animation. Looks like a guy high on crack is sprinting.

And back to complaining
The sponsor negotiations...
Still suffers from traditional Cyanideness...
Europcar: Top3 Giro and Top5 Pais Vasco
Sky: 1st Giro, 1st Tour, 1st Vuelta, 1st AToC, 1st Lombardia, 1st Paris-Nice, 1st ToB and 1st TDU... 8 win goals
Garmin: no mention of any USA race
Rapha Condor Sharp: 1st 4 Jour, Top10 AToC
If you are going to reduce budget for negotiating down a goal, can it make less dumb goals to begin with? It would be a massivly improved system if you could pick the races as well as the goals themselves. Fairly certain Sky don't give a fuck about AToC, so why should i in game?

Looks quite good, minus some of the problems (which I hope they fix). Won't get the game immediately, will wait until it is more or less fully patched. |

@ TMM
You complain more than an old woman missing a leg.
no I see your points, but you do manage to find every little bad thing in the game, while I have not encountered things like that so far

So lets find some good things..... ermm.....
....
....
....
I guess it's more immersive with a fuller and more involving manager aspect. It does look good (mostly, i've got another complaint coming in a second) as there is only simple changes to most of the actual in game GUI.
The map feature is fun... but it has no practical purpose, but yes fun...
And back to some bad..
The News Screen... the news screen...
I can no longer read a whole message anymore. Beyond the really short 1-2line messages every single one is no longer easily visible. I have to scroll down to even find the delete/respond buttons.
Also the giant box on the right... and not the upcoming races one... why oh why is it so giant?! WHY! I can't read my messages but i can look at nothing, thanks Cyanide...
It is good you can now scroll messages using arrow keys, and the upcoming races box is very useful depending on your team and schedule. With Rapha Condor it is mostly useless as your schedule is just not that full.
I am not just trying to pick holes in the game, it is an improvement on PCM12 when it first came out. But it does need patching and a big proper DB. I will reserve final judgement until that point.
It has a lot of potential, but currently is being let down by some shocking design and feature choices...

My points still stand for critiism as well until soembody can explain why they did them.

Here's your problem:
They're being sarcastic. You gave them shit races to aim for so they're sarcastically asking "How about we include the tour of my neighbourhood as another objective? I'm sure that's a REEEEALLY big and prestigious race, huh?"

As someone who works in software I will guarantee you anything you want that it still uses the 0-99 system, simply it only displays to the user 5 levels so that the user has a better idea of what constitutes good, bad, excellent, awful, etc. It has to. I don't see any other possibility.

Played 1 mountain stage, the one they skipped in the Giro
Have to say. That was fantastic. I managed to actually hurt the field with José Serpa on the 2nd climb making the race incredibly hard. Unfortuantely too hard for Scarponi who couldn't keep up with Vroome Vroome on the final climb.
Also. The complaining about the load times? Well mine loaded up faster than PCM 12.
Perhaps it's just my gaming rig that's so fast, but i dont have a problem. I'll try champs elysees next as everyone says it's a slow loader |

I would agree, but somehow i don't think Cyanide are that clever... and if they are, why are they wasting time on a joke and not improving the actual game?

Every single big name rider will say that line if you give him races he's not interested in as goals. It's just how the line was written

Crysis averted. It's a problem with the form display graphic, not with the actual form. The rider will attempt to keep top form through most of the grand tour. It'll only go down a little bit during week 3
(I say "attempt" because he might get tired from the whole season's training and racing)

Loading stages is definitely a little longer. The attacks on the flats do look really funny, but on the climbs it looks about right.
One thing is I keep wanting to counter attack someone, only to realize they are just using the dot to accelerate so its harder to follow.
Also pretty much all the options, even career mode stuff are actually in the options menu now. Seems that the force graphics option is gone, which was nice since it seems like every few startups the game cant determine my graphics card for some reason, which ends up resetting all of my settings.

This is annoying me endlessly, but should easily be fixable with a Patch.
And in fairness attack on the flat has always looked retarded...

Also the fact that it can't determine my graphics card, shouldn't mean it also resets all of my career mode settings and stuff as well too. Because it defaults as everything maxed out for me anyway, its just a simple deactivating of the intro video, but instead I've got to adjust all of those other settings too.

Having just played a first cobbled classic, Paris Roubaix, I must say it was nice in a few times, but quite disappointing in most, and in the final result specially.
Basically, it seems cobbles are not nearly hard enough. If I've taken a look correctly, P-R has no cobbled section below 3 stars of difficulty - yet, with less than 100 kms to go, into the Arenberg, the Peloton was still made of 172 riders! And none were dropped on the Arenberg. I had a guy in the breakaway, his heart rate actually dropped when riding on the cobbles compared to the flat.
To the nice part: although the peloton was still pretty big, some attacks and some monster pulls eventually created a select group of 20 or so. When the last big sections come, the attacking/countering 'game' felt good. Also, a minor thing, but the animation for attack on cobbles seem to have changed (they now attack without getting out of the saddle on it), looks better and more realistic.
On the last section, Cancellara (me) attacked and only Boonen could follow. The main problem came now: Boonen flatted, and the group of 6~7 that took him over (being thus the first chasers of Cancellara) completely stopped doing anything! They started riding at 30 km/h, giving Cancellara a 3 min lead in about 5 kms. With a few kms to go, this group even got caught by a 42 (big!) rider peloton, making it a solo finish of Cancellara 4 minutes ahead of a 51 rider peloton.
I hardly think this is normal, and probably other attempts will give much better results (since other people have already posted a few of their cobbled race experiences here), but just seeing the possibility of this happening, not good.
Oh, and to finish things off, the game crashed between highlights/podium
