Very impressed at all the small improvements. But the AI looks fixed finally which is what we all wanted the most, so I'm very happy.

I am wondering how many riders were out of the time limit there if it`s already 8min or so between the first 10!
The gaps were almost too big. |

Don't forget that he played with Contador on normal difficulty.

I tuned in as he was showing the grouping feature for the season planning. Only took them 4 years to copy my planner.
But joke aside, this looks like the best PCM game ever. Good gameplay and good management features.

Still gonna reserve judgment until i get playing it myself. I am encouraged but there were a lot of little things that we didn't see, primarily Cobbles, which i love and adore...

Overall i'm pleased with what i've seen bar a few minor things like when a rider attacks he has a cadence of 2000 rpm. A big improvment seems to be the management of goals for both the team and riders. It remains to be seen what effect an unhappy rider has. |

Pro Cycling Manager 2013
In another great initiative, Cyanide organized a live stream presentation of PCM 2013, giving us in insight of the new game releasing at the end of June. We saw an improved Armada, an amazing Champs-Elyssée stage and an impressive Mont Ventoux stage. Here is a summary and some screenshots for you!
The menu has been given a make-over.
It seems track has been added to Armada, offering the players different categories to choose from. Omnium is missing, but they might implement it before the release or in a patch.
An important matter: there is an option: link to PCM12 account. So you can transfer your cards to PCM13. Also note there will be a card limit.
You can also race stage races in Armada, selecting stages from existing stage races (for example, only race the mountain stages of the Tour), or select the Cyanide-made Fantasy Mountain Tour. You will not, however, be able to create your own stages for this.
Selecting a team has improved a lot. We have a visual on the team's strength, take a look here in the top right corner.
Feel like a team's not good enough for you? You can edit the teams in game!
Or you can just create your own team, with sponsor jerseys ready made!
If you're riding a stage race, you will see an improved fitness system, including energy consumption per day and freshness!
In single race mode, you can race the World Championships with national teams. No more skipping in career mode!
If you're looking to manage a team, this will be your office! Look at the current races or what races are coming up shortly! And, of course, in this day and age, don't forget you read your mails daily!
Managing a Cycling team is all about planning. Divide your players into up to 16 groups!
[center]
Then plan out the entire season in advance. But don't forget your sponsor objectives and the riders' personal objectives!
Once you know where you're sending everyone, it's time for their fitness schedule. Only this year, it's updated automatically, depending on the riders' goals! The sponsor objectives are now better translated to the team's strength. You won't have to win the Tour with Accent Jobs! (Not that I don't think you can!)
Sponsor goals can be negotiated. You get a list of what the sponsor wants you to do. Say you don't feel like winning the Tour, you can tell him: "I'll ride top 5". The sponsor will lessen the budget a bit, though. But if you tell him: 'don't worry, instead of top 10, I'll win the Giro', the budget goes up again! Don't forget your calculator!
And every rider has his own hopes and dreams. They have primary and secondary goals for every season. Again, you can negotiate quite freely it seems. Also notice how the fitness schedule changes automatically depending on his goals.
If you want to make a .1 race a goal to a great rider, he won't like it, though, illustrated here.
And now we've come to the end of the rainbow: the gameplay itself! Paris is a magical place, and it deserves the finest gameplay possible! My apologies for the quality, but the streaming + print screen wasn't the best combination visually.
Loading screen for the tour...
That brown block right is the foot of the Eifel Tower.
Under Lourdes!
Champs-Elyssée feels much more real, going around the Arc de Triomphe.
Cavendish winning in green, what else?
During the race, you can access the map-function!
The riders' animation has been improved greatly, as we have seen in a video before. The AI also seems much improved. Mountain stages have a better feeling. On the Mont Ventoux, the entire peloton ripped up into tiny pieces. There is also a button: analyse behaviour, which seems to be in accordance with the r3 button on the console-game.
Database makers will have a blast, that's for sure. In this limited stream we've seen legends like Vroome, Waggons, Covendish, Bolson Hogen and Thomas Buunen!
There's nothing left for me to say but: thanks to Cyanide for the stream and this great game. But next time, let someone else play the game in the stream, because he was terrible with water bottles!

Great! Thanks Ian!
I'm getting really excited for this game, it looks awesome(and yes, I believe in those things )
Stats need some working on, though, no way Vermeltfoort is as good in sprinting as Markus!

Finally squads in Armada. I hope they have some kind of rule that allows us to do bronze only or silver only races. Bronzes are kinda useless in PCM12.
The rest looks really great, finally the management part gets some love. |

Even though it looks great, I still fear the game keeps on attacking, even though there is a gap of 2min20 or something

Reading the news you always have to hold a step back... but with this, wow! I haven't seem the livestream, but with Ian's sum up and the reactions to it it looks like the game is pretty awesome.
Now we should just wait the bugs that will be introduced
Oh, and the team strenght pentagon really remembers me of WE 08 or something. Good old PS2 times
ps.: "We could also include the tour of my neighbourhood as an objective, I'm sure that it's a very prestigious race"

I'm afraid we'll have to make completely new database editors, though. With those new fitness models, riders' goals etc, I don't know if the current editors will work! |
