I can't understand why all the DB's put a lot of names to spanish/colombian... riders.. If you go to Movistar Team or Tinkoff siteweb you will see Alejandro Valverde or Alberto Contador..

No Alejandro Valverde Belmonte or Alberto Contador Velasco.. In spain we have 2 surnames but we only use one (normally the first)

The same with Colombian or other countries in south america..

Example : The real name is Sergio Luis Henao Montoya, but all the people call him Sergio Henao..

Is that the feature of this great database only 70 teams?

I think that there are more custom teams.

Only for me, cannot see that ?

He copies them from the official UCI list. It would take a lot of time to edit the names or input them manually. If it annoys you, do it yourself, then you'll notice how time consuming it is.

1) Are there 2014 varinats?
2) Is there pink and jellow yersey for Giro and Vuelta?

herman123
the leadersoutfits are old. Contador (Tinkov) in the yellow yersey has saxo bank sungard of sponsor. And that is by every sponsor

In terms of stats and stages it's a very solid database. However, I do not like the cursor, that grayish cursor isn't that ... visible during the stages, as the Chudude said. And I can't say that I like the background. The original one, with the cyclist, was better, in my opinion.

bogas21 wrote:
In the database Diego Ulissi and Daryl Impey are free riders, its normal????

YES, but they aren't normal free riders, they are free riders with 2 year-bans.

bogas21 wrote:
hum ok. but Caleb Ewan is not a free rider, is on ORICA

NO HE IS NOT! Next season; yes, he now is at the Commonwealth Games riding for Australia. So it wouldn't make sense at all to put him in the 2014 Orica squad. Because then you will see him ride for example the Giro during 2014 which is stupid!

Bahrdk wrote:
Should I overwrite the other maps?

YES, See Installation Instructions ->
3b. Copy the 8 folders (from 3D to Xml) and paste (merge/overwrite) it in the folder where you have installed Pro Cycling Manager 2014 (usually C:\Program Files\Cyanide\Pro Cycling Manager - Season 2014).

ejorgensen wrote:
You could "ban" Caleb Ewan for x months undtil he can rides for Orica?

Well, YOU could do that if you want, I won't do it in the A.S.O.DB, because unfortunately this feature of cyanide isn't bugfree (it sometimes messes up the contract negotiations) and I want my database (as always) to be bugfree.

Bahrdk wrote:
For me BMC jerseys still doesnt work and the frames and wheels is still the old shit? What could I have done wrong?

Don't know what you have done wrong, just follow the installation instruction very carefully and you should be fine.

Rifex wrote:
I'm sorry if it has already been asked, but is it possible to start a career without the variants pack and add it during the season without any problem ?
I can't wait to begin but I don't have downloaded the variants yet.

Stages Pack = variants, real routes of previous years and 2014 races. So you could start, but then you will miss some 2014 races.

nicolassteam77 wrote:
Will have there t-il a database with the champions 2014?
sorry for my English :/

Maybe I will release one later, but I never understand why people want a 2014 champions db, during 2014.

aleksanderskj wrote:
Do u need to use the database to get all the equipment?

Yes

migy1998 wrote:
When i start a Time Trial , crashes always

Report your crashes to cyanide (they probably won't fix it, but you never know), I can't do anything about that.

clamel wrote:
Just gave the issue a small thought

@clamel and TyKoZ, I don't get it, what's the discussion? what is your point? The A.S.O.DB has everything correct, guys who signed for a team during the season ride with that team (like Samuel Sánchez González/BMC), guys tested positive during the season are free riders with the UCI assigned ban (like Diego Ulissi) and guys are free riders because they won't ride one single official race during 2014 for their future teams (like Caleb Ewan)

danielito wrote:
Oleg, sorry, if this was asked before, but how the Emmea/Cyanide Variants in the "mod" folder merge with your variants from the game folder? Is it better to get rid of them before playing? Or will those just pop up later in your database?
THX D

You can install the Emmea/Cyanide Variants before installing the A.S.O.DB 2014 without any problems.

Is it intentional that potentials have not been edited?
Sagan has 7 potential while Ewan has 6. This way Sagan, who already has far better stats than Ewan, will develop even more than Ewan will.

This is your (and a common) misconception. Sagan already has huge stats. So if you give him potential 6, his potential will be too low for the game to fall between the limits set in the youngridercarac XML files. Thus Sagan will progress beyond his potential, usually 3 points. You don't want that to happen.
Giving him potential 7 means, if the XML used are correct, that he won't progress much more with the stats he already has.
Ewan has very low starting stats, so with potential 6 he will usually develop a lot. But still it's random each time, because for example in Kentaurus XML a potential 6 rider could be a world beater. But could also be just too weak at 1 point, and become a sub-top rider.

Give Ewan potential 7 and he could become as good as Sagan. But it's the question wether OlegTinkov believes Ewan can become as good or not. Clearly not because he gives potential 6, but that's personal opinion. And with talents very hard to predict

Indeed! Also what's make you think that the potentials haven't been edited? Because in fact I have edited the potentials of approximately 3000 riders!

maffiomelf wrote:
The time trial stats that Tom Dumoulin has is not right it should be at least 79 or even higher

I disagree, but you could change it to whatever you like!

Paeti wrote:
First of all, thanks for the work Oleg!

I have a question concerning the young riders. Are the talents adapted to the other riders? So that they can get the same stats like the veterans, not too low not too high. I am thinking of something like "Kent's PCM14 Young Rider XMLs".

YES, the talents are adapted to the A.S.O.DB Matrix.

ronny12345 wrote:
It crashes at autorun with me? What to do? Smile

Go to the folder where you have installed Pro Cycling Manager 2014 (usually C:\Program Files\Cyanide\Pro Cycling Manager - Season 2014), right click on PCM (.exe) and create a shortcut (to desktop).
From now on you can open PCM by double clicking on the created shortcut.

See Installation Instructions -> Check if "Rider faces" is turned on @ Graphics/Options.

clamel wrote:
OK Oleg,
what I was messing around with was the idea of startlists on your DB. You got a great DB and I would like to try out some startlists to get correct riders in races for this year.

The issue with Impey and Ulissi is that I´m not sure if they pop up in the teams they rode for earlier this year. Since you made them Free riders. It might work anyway.

If I create a startlist for Amstel, Milan-San Remo, Tirreno-AdriaticoI would very much like to see Impey in Orica Team.

His doping and ban came later and was not in force at that time. Ulissi rode in several other big races including the Giro and trying to recreate correct startlists for those races should include these riders.
You said that Cadel Evans was under a ban in your DB. How will this intervene on a start in the Giro ?. Perhaps one could lift the ban or what.

Startlists is after all something in the past. If one go for career mode it will be different.

To reflect I believe that riders like Lance Armstrong is in Historical Databases even if he was riding all those year under the influence of enhancing stuff.

I will try out some startlist on your DB when it is properly inserted in the correct places.

Many thanks for what looks like a real gem.

I disagree, Ulissi and Impey results will be removed so I won't change a thing. Also Cadel Evans under a ban? When/were did I say that?

Is this compatible with Durand's sponsorkits?

Well, yes (I think) it's compatible, but the A.S.O.DB has already sponsorkits init, so I wouldn't recommend it.

Dan_Grr wrote:
Oleg, if you're reading this, go to the comments on the PCM database download sections as one user commented on your database about some riders who aren't racing anymore.
Are you considering releasing small updates in the near future?

I only answer to questions that are ask in this thread, but the retired riders will retire during your career, you get a news message about it.

PCM Focus wrote:
You made a nice database Oleg, congrats. Wink

Btw I see you added some frames and wheels, just like we are doing right now. Do you also have the 'bug' when adding helmets and linking them to the teams, the game crashes when starting a career?

No

Naskela wrote:
Just found a bug while doing a career with Tinkoff it happens pretty randomly within a few days then it comes up an error and the game closes, only happens with Tinkoff not sure what the problem is... do anyone know what to do or have it happened to anyone else?

You can report your crash to cyanide, maybe they will fix it, maybe not. But I can't do anything about that.

AlexB wrote:
Got everything set up and looking good: the old guys will retire at the end of the season so no harm, no foul for me on that one.

One thing that I was surprised by though is the lack of national championships: are there any plans to add a British National Championship race & ITT in particular, but also American, Irish, Canadian, South African, and Scandinavian country title races?

If so, would they be able to be imported into an existing career, or would it mean a restart?

You can add them in a existing career, see tips Tips and tricks

Why did you rename the teams like this? For exmaple-just Omega and not Omega Pharma Quick-Step.

The team is called Omega Pharma - Quick-Step Cycling Team and that's exactly the name it has in the A.S.O.DB 2014.
In PCM14 you have fullnames and shortnames (for layout purposes).

Of course he is. Because when he is currently not working on signing Sagan or making millions, then he does not relax with his family or something, no he puts huge work into creating a PCM database.

Of course, I am also the real Silvio Herklotz, you should know. Everything else would be just ridicilous, wouldn't it? Grin

Actually, no. I waited for this database before playing the game, so it`s strange that it`s happened. Looking in the 3d-> ... -> gia - folder, there seems to be transferts (and leader shorts) for both Giant-Shimano, 1t4i and Argos - Shimano. Seeing as I just installed the game for the first time, it`s very strange.
