A good performance by Tao on stage 15 and a really good one a day later. But the time gap was too small compared to what he already lost, at least a top 10 finish now looks likely. A shame we don't join the botd more often.

Sweet, after a huge time loss Betancur managed to get a stage win after all. What a raid it was, great performance on a +5 day. That keeps his stage win streak going, and even sweeter in the colombian nc jersey. Bardet also profiting nicely from the dual work despite missing out another stage win the Giro win looks much more likely now.

Bardet stamped his authority on the race with some aggressive riding in the mountains set up by Salvador Castillo.
Bridging over to Barguil and then Betancur surely helped him gain more time and you cannot begrudge them their stage wins.
Leading the KOM is icing on the cake, hope Kittel keeps the points jersey, he deserves it.

Not sure why Contador lost 7 minutes on Stage 16. That's the Top 5 gone for sure now. Craddock getting 2nd on Stage 17 is a very small consolation.

Thank you very much for the Giro. It was awesome to follow.
I think it's tough to come back to the awful PCM15 breakaway/GT AI after being used to PCM18 and newer. The top 4 in the KOM coming out of the Top6 GC is quite a shame to me.

I admit that I haven't followed the GTs last year, so I was really surprised to see how hard Barguil cracked on S19, almost losing his podium spot - and how he stroke back the next day - while Quintana dominated S19 and badly cracked the next day. I'm definitely not used to see that much variance from one stage to the next, but at least there again was some tension for P3 going into stage 20
Also surprised to see the pack give away yet another sprint stage on the final day. At least Kittel still (deservedly) won the Ciclamino!
Congrats to Bardet on the Giro win, he always looked to be in control and had such a strong team there!

posted final results of romandie as well as the first three stages of aosta. Aosta stage 3 has an accidental video as I somehow pressed the record button with over hundreds kilometers to go.. its a pretty crazy stage tho so well worth the watch.
On the giro: thanks for the swift and quality coverage dominox, great stuff. happy to see nibali grabbing a stage win in his last giro. bananito ended up the race rather in limbo, way down. after many good years it is not only clear that the decline will hit him but also that other riders have passed him by now although stage 20 was a good last effort by him, coming 4th. Overall 6th is a solid GC result, 4th in mountain + one stage win, which means an okayish points haul from this race. not too much seen from other riders though. congratulations to d2b on winning il giro, bardet next year for the tour is hereby confirmed i guess! |

Great performance by Boily in Romandie. Unfortunately Verona was just on fire all week and we couldn't get the win, but still really happy to be runner up there.
And our dev team actually got a stage top 10!

Major season goal achieved with Bardet's win at the Giro added to his Vuelta win last season. Just the big one to go!
Delighted with the support Bardet got from his team, he never looked in trouble.
Congrats to podium finishers Aru and Barguil who both put up a good fight and bagged a few stage wins between them. And congrats to Kittel who deserved the points win.
Agree that KOM should not be going to the GT guys and breaks should get a better chance but with PCM15 that's not going to happen sadly.
Thanks for the great coverage Dominox and with the chapters I could choose to watch the racers come in or skip ahead to the next stage so no need to edit really.

Personally happy to switch to a newer PCM version however the migration of some fantasy races might be difficult?

Can't really make any sense out of Chamorro's results in Romandie. I'll just suppose he was sick or injured, as that's my only explanation not including wonky AI.
On the upside, Mendes did really well as a replacement leader. Unfortunately he couldn't quite keep up with the best on stage 5, but then winning the closing TT and moving up to 4th in the GC surely was one of his best performances ever! In general, the TT was really nice with 4 in the Top15 - even Chamorro being one of them, so I guess his form wasn't actually *that* bad ^^
A bit less happy about Aosta, although the start was great with Espinosa finally sprinting - and getting 2nd. But the climber duo of Ollero and UrÃzar just aren't good enough. They should split their roles into leader and helper, and not two "free elements", but obviously they couldn't gain any advantage from being two in that group. Well, maybe one of them has a big day later on, and they're at least both in the Top10 currently. Let's see what the second half brings

Wellens did it! All seemed lost after stage 18 but he fought like a lion on stages 19 and 20 to get that top 10 finish. Thanks for the nice video coverage!
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

If we get sent down it won't be Kittel's fault. Can't really beat 7 wins out of 7 bunch sprints. Oh and 35th on the GC while he was at it. Now we have to fire the DS as losing 3 sprints to the break each by less than a few hundred meters is unacceptable. 4 stage wins, 2 2nds and 1 4th is nice, 7 stage wins would have been incredible. Maybe the team wasn't quite strong enough but seems like a judgement error when it is that close. Marcel will we be catching up with McRettin about who should be in the car when he goes for the points jersey double at the TDF.
Our young Algerian Ferhat taking 6th on the U25 was nice, pity he dropped a place on the last stage. Awesome to see Nairo pull off a classy victory on Stage 19.
Congrats to D2B, Bardet proved his superiority in the end.
Thanks to Dominox for the great coverage.

I'm expecting a massive fall in rankings if we race GT like this....
We know that Giro's eighth is the weaker planned between 3 GTs, next two there will be an all in for sprints at TdF and GC at Vuelta with best teams possible, but Giro was a big disappointment with Talansky who didn't get even the top50....

Thanks for the gvreat coverage, dominox, even if stages 19 and 20 were really hard to watch. Tao's Giro was bad enough until then, but two -5 days at the end wre the icing on the cake. Howard's sprint train was also a joke and I think we joined only two breakaways...
Hooray, our U23 riders are just as bad as Tao. Losing 9 minutes with MON 73 and twice that with MON 71 on a single stage is pretty impressive.

Urgh Ospina so bad why
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

Amazing final Giro from Nibali. Really happy to see him win a stage and also wear the maglia rosa in the beginning. The stage win in Trentino was already a highlight. Only unfortunate that he missed the top10 in GC in the end by a mere 7 seconds.
Also haven't commented on Pintzo's win in Paris - Roubaix yet. Really historic moment for my team.
Thanks for the great work Shonak and dominox. I'm really enjoying the videos! |

Well 8th place from Contador in his last ever Giro is about where the favourites' list put him. A couple of bad days made Top 5 unreachable really, he didn't do too badly otherwise. We didn't do much here but Bertie's fighting spirit and David Meyer showing he has the ability to be near the front of WT sprints are the real positives from this race.
Thanks for the great coverage Dominox and congrats to D2B

Wrapping up Aosta and starting the first 3 stages of Amgen.
Very happy with Aosta, Aurum really using their combined mountain strength with helpers of 71 to shred the peloton and even Ortega managed to save his good result despite working for Quitura. After winning Avenir a few years ago, it's cool to finally snatch the 2nd big stage race in the U23.
