Good stage, KoM is gone I think, but team ranking might still be possible for Tinkoff, although the cap between Joe Pendleton and Sergei Kolesnikov is probably to big for the other 4 riders to get back on. Still a lot can happen in the last 3 days of a Tour.

No time lost there, I'm happy. I'm sure the next two days are going to be huge and exciting, it should make for a good finale. Amador really needs to have a good ride in the TT.

And unfortunately for Glenn O'Shea, he failed to make the time limit. The race has lost it's first rider!
Looking at stage 20 and have feelings many riders will follow...

My heart sunk a little once the main break had gone and it was looking like Scarponi wouldn't build on his success. BUT!!! For him to get away and wrack up a good amount of buffer over the rivals, I have hope that he can take the KOM for good. That'd be an epic success for a team that's never really been built around the climbers. Possibly one of my first KOM wins for a loooong time.
Thanks for the reporting SN.

Just caught up after few busy days. Fantasic to see Pluchkin grab his third stage win here, also coming closer to Bewleyy in green jersey battle. KOM jersey lost, but that was expected with usual third week breakaway fest, when same riders join them again and again. As long as Good Energy takes it instead of us, i am fine.
Congrats to stage winners and thanks for really fantastic detailed reports SN! Looking forward to three crucial stages, the race is not won yet, wo we have to stay attentive.

Nice ITT report, on to tomorrow, hoping for a crazy penultimate stage, I guess we need two riders in the break; Zakarin and Pomoshnikov why not!

Yeah in real life you would see 20 to 30 riders go in the break. In reality I am guessing between 6 and 10 - would be very lucky to have a SrB rider in there.
The big target is Sicard really in tomorrows stage. Any sort of gain would gain Jose a place. Cannot see him hurting Taaramae enough to snatch a podium. He is vunerable but surely not to the tune of two or so minutes. Pukekin is holding strong as you would expect.

Sadly it really doesn't look good for Bewley's chances for the green jersey in Paris. It will be a big shock if Pluchkin is unable to score a podium finish in the next stage which should do it for him.

A stage win is absolutely excellent, getting 2 minutes on Alarcon before tomorrow's terrifying stage is excellent. I'm still not sure it's enough, heck I could even see him finishing 5th, so we'll have to hope the RNG is in his favour, and that he has a good day tomorrow.
But on the other hand, 1 minute up to Amador is not impossible either, so it could really go any way

Decent TT from Martin, and it's all about that final mountain stage. Seventh at worst looks likely, and hopefully he avoids a disaster and can keep 6th place.
For the podium places behind Pluchkin it's really wide open! I don't think Amador is safe from Taaramäe, but it will take something special from either Sicard or Alarcon to get that podium. And Alarcon has proven earlier this season that he's capable, meaning it would be foolish to count him out.
Thanks for the report, SN, and really looking forward for the next one. Hopefully the highlight of the Tour! |

Congrats to Crommy, Taaramae is showing his class. I agree, 1 minute could easily be made up tomorrow, it's all about whoever gets in the right move when the big names start attacking. I'm looking forward to it!

Now even the 11th place seems to be in trouble

I somehow missed the 18th stage report, thus my last comment could be a bit strange.
Good job by Pluchkin there, to earn some more points to close on Bewley. Congrats to Wacko!
And now the TT, great 2nd place by Aleksandr, again beaten only by Rein, congrats Crommy! We are happy anyway, just two more days to make history and also the point jersey seems real now, given the deadly profile of 20th stage. Hopefully the break wont be massive and wont be given 20 minutes gap in first half of the stage, because Bewley should win in Paris.
Fantastic reports SN, bring on the last tough one!

Top 10 feels secured now, really happy about that. (As I said that Monsalve will crash and disband)

Pluchkin too good. Reeks of Armstrong.

Yeah whatever. Of course we can't have a good performance. Every race this year has to be a disappointment. Losing a minute in the final kilometer? No surprise there. I'm pretty fed up with this. We didn't even put a rider in the breakaway the entire race. Every single race this year has had a completely garbage, below their ability ride from all of my riders.
But enough of me bitching. Congrats Crommy. Thanks for the report SN.

What a hectic Stage 20 for our team. Had everything from Fothen showing perhaps his last glory ride at the TDF, Newton getting mentioned and Maksimov coming a day short.
What a rollercoaster.
