Madrazo not finishing with the top favourites again, and far down in the GC at the moment compared to expectations. Not a good race for him, he ain't as good as the others.

Wow, my stage results in this race are beyond expectations. Schleck is really going for it.
A surprise 1 minute gain on Spilak certainly boosts my podium hopes, but it is advantage Pluchkin for the top spot now.

Spilak seems to have lost this in the transitional stages - very surprised to see such action on that stage.
Great to have another in break I thought Froome was odds on there but the GC guys went for it and correctly in the end Pluchkin showing really well there. Schleck sneaking up with another stage win ... It sets up some bug showdowns in mountains to come.

Excellent stage from Rein! He'll probably lose 6th to Sicard at some point, but hopefully he now has enough gap to keep 7th.

Phew... bullet dodged.. Pluchkin has had tendency of late to underperform in those hilly stages. Looking somewhat better now, but still so long until the Champs.

These next 4 stages are going to beamazing to watch I really think Schleck could end up posing the biggest threat to Pluchkin the way this is going at the moment. Another thing though is Madrazo seems to be doing a Bjarne Riis this tour young teammate giving him no help and everything haha, looking forward to him throwing his TT bike on the uphill TT |

Still have the feeling, that Spilak ain't done yet. Those recent stages though.. Pretty bad from his point of view. Hoping for a huge comeback now!
Vesuvio really strong, Schleck with a great tour. It's an epic battle for yellow and the podium, really enjoying those quality reports! Thanks again, roturn

Never expected little brother Schleck to take out a hilly stage here, that's for sure. Must mean he's capable for anything as he showed on the previous mountain stages when the race gets back to the high mountains.
Very disappointing from especially Spilak considering his hill stat, which is a serious blow to his overall chances. Curious to see how the finishing downhill affects the coming stage, it could be a good one for a breakaway if the downhill means the big guns will hesitate to put real pressure on Pluchkin. |

It looks like Henao's recovery is complete. Maybe he can still go for a stage win in one of the last days of the Tour.
At this point I'd give away the stage win for the polka dots though. Still, it will be really hard for Vanendert to hold on to that jersey since he is pretty much the weakest climber from the group that is competing for the KoM classification.

Really tough pair of hilly stages from Spilak, who should be complete opposite in rolling terrain, i feel sorry for Festina. Nothing is lost, but Schleck is also coming closer every day and missing the podium would be disaster, so fingers crossed for Spilak.
Schleck is just unstoppable in this Tour, killer acceleration.

Well another nice stage which tightens things up in the top 4 on GC - still three really tough stages to come and Pluchkin could easily lose this.
That said the chrono next - difficult to see him losing time there in fact he would be short odds to win it.
Thrilled to see Samoilev battling away there, he has had a nice Tour with two successful breaks - the hope now must be he gets away on stage 20 to challenge for that KoM jersey. Though the AI is somewhat borken here it would be fantastic to steal that one.
Phinney continues to surprise - I wonder how well he will go in the mountain chrono?

Another "win" for Schleck, and suddenly he's less than one and a half minute behind. Seeing the minutes he has already gained, he must now be considered a big challenger, also for Pluchkin.
A great stage from Phinney as well, defending 2nd place overall and even gaining time on Pluchkin is brilliant stuff from the American who is climbing above his class here.
Congratulations on the stage win, Bushwackers! And big thanks to roturn for another very nice report. |

Schleck is getting stronger and stronger. He's becoming a real danger to Pluschkin with only 4 stages left.
Good ride by Mathias Frank. |

Excellent stage!
I'm amazed Rein is still holding onto 6th, and a lot of that can be attributed to the fantastic work Teklehaimanot is doing, he's having a fantastic tour

Wow, this sucks big time for both Oleg and Gustavovskiy, but shit happens...
Schleck is in beast mode and it would not surprise me to see him in yellow in Paris, but i think he will just come short this year.
Spilak is really unlucky, as he should have what it takes to fight for the Tour win and now he is outside of podium. Phinney is just overperforming hard.

Tough stage for some managers. In especially prio as Fothen looks injured.
Phinney having an awesome race here showing that mountain stat is not everything.
I have sent my reports to SN. So he might post them to secure a daily report. From my mobile this is not the easiest to do. |
