Btw also congratulations to Gianni (Brajkovic) for reaching his first top 10 in the Tour de France.
I still remember the days when he wondered around the Cyanide and PPDB forums when he was an unknown. And later here, even as a professional.
Never guessed he'd make it this far! Amazing!
For real?
Yeah

Yep. He even got in a quarrell or something with a user when he finished second back in the 2008 Lombardia, when he thought he had won it.
According to him he didn't think he had won it

Reminds me that some guy named Danilot appeared on the cyclingnews forum recently, stating he'd be a multiple GT finisher (2x Tour, 4x Vuelta, 9x Giro or so), with, surprisingly, only Di Luca exactly fitting on the description.
No further information on that so far, would currently rate it a fake though.

That poster definitely has English as his first language.

Thought so with Alakagom as well, and you know where that ended
Nah, you're right, from what I heard, Di Luca is far from speaking or writing English well enough.

At Cyanide forums, but they only spoke French there, there was Remi guy who appeared to be Pauriol (who soon got into a fight with a mod because he didn't like the way his questions got answered ).
I reckon there were a couple more of them, but I'm not sure who. Or maybe some didn't express their identity either.

This. So much more to enjoy with many enthralling subplots. If you don't enjoy that there's always the off switch |

The sprints were good but the mountains, where everyone expects something interesting to happen, were just plain dull all the time. The Tour was a foregone conclusion after the first time trial and since then it has just been a fight for third place. Even then no one has really done much to fight for it.
Personally I couldn't care less who is first in Paris, as long as they've earned it and as long as the racing is exciting. That is why Pinot has fast become one of my favourite climbers after this year and I was so pleased to see Rolland confirming his climbing abilities (I thought that he wouldn't). But they have been the only people who I have found remotely interesting in the past three weeks.

Yeah there were interesting breaks as well (which also made the Mountain jersey entertaining, and I'm not going to complain about Voeckler's wins.
Ultimately I think the problem I had with this year's tour is that it was almost 21 separate races because the overarching narrative was just so decided and uninteresting. Usually there are the day-to-day battles over GC that keep everything interesting, but this year was just pretty much devoid of that.

I know from my contacts with Dutch pro riders that they do read forums too. But they usually keep silent. And ofcourse they think 90% on there is rubbish |

Wow. He should come on now and describe it. (Obviously he is far beyond that now)

True, but in those two TT's he blew away the competition...
We all said before the race that Wiggo would win it in the TT's if he was going to take yellow, well, he did just that.
He took about 5-10minutes out of his rivals in those two stages, and then stayed with the best on climbs.
People can say he doesn't deserve to win it because his team earned it for him. In part i agree with you, but how many of you have tried cycling up the Tourmalet, Peyseroude etc?
I can tell you that I have, and just having someone to set you a pace doesn't magically get to the top, you have to push your own wheels around at the end of the day, and he did that.
He matched every single attack that opposition riders made against him, and the time he pulled out in 2 days was enough to take a great victory over the competition a well earned TdF.
Furthermore, I would point out, that anyone who says he had poor results outside of TT's then take a look at other climbers, his were (as good as/better than) the rest excluding team mate Chris Froome, who was a brilliant team mate to Bradley, and part of a hard working Sky machine.
My Final Point: Many people are saying that Froome should have been the rightful winner, well...
Before the Tour, Team Sky stated that they would take Froome and Wiggins, and whilst Wiggo would initially be the leader, if Froome looked stronger, then he might take over the Mantle. Froome then had a crash, and Wiggo established himself in the first big TT, Ahead of Froome, why would 1st work for 2nd?
Wiggins then only once looked truly unable to go with Froome, and that was on the final stage in the Pyrenees, around 700m from the summit, by this point, Bradley had a 2minute lead, and even if Froome had gone Rogue against Sky, then I hardly think he could have collected back the 3minutes he ends up finishing second by.
Rant over, It just Riles me how people are nailing Wiggins.
A man who so far this year, has finished no lower than 2nd in a GC, and was the official named leader for this race.
La Toussuire remembers you of something? Tell me if yes.... |

Just noticed that if Braj hadn't had that stupid dog off lead fall he might well have made it to 6th overall with a TT around the top 25 |
