It's alright mate. It only sucks when you would have won the bet Pfft

I think you are ~700 points clear of relegation right now, so there's a good chance you can scrape through, although teams like Pokerstars, Gazelle, Movistar and Jayco'z have got some good races to come. It will be difficult for Orange and Red Bull though, while Kenya and Grieg both need miracles to survive.

No Phinney at Praha or Tasmania?

Ohh no your right I forgot that Praha was double TT now so he is there for sure, probably my only race till the end of the season were big points are expected so hopefully we can extend the cushion to the relegation zone before the final few races

Spilak is clearly not strong enough to gap any of the 3 infront of him, and to gain THAT much on Dombrowski is not possible.

Fuck you SotD.

Yeah, sorry about that. But I wouldn't exactly have thought it was realistic for Spilak to beat Taaramäe, Keizer and Kritskiy in this TT. Losing just 1'14" on Phinney is absolutely surreal. Spilak should on paper have been around the time of Lecuisinier or Coppel even.

Not complaining, though Pfft

It sucks for you to lose two spots here in the final relevant stage, but prior to the race 4th for Dombrowski seemed like quite an accomplishment, ending up ahead of riders like Phinney, Kritskiy and Sicard. Your helpers heavily underperformed though and both Dees and Kennaugh should have been 10-25 spots better.

Yeah, I'm pretty happy with it tbf just annoyed at your whiny tempting-of-fate Pfft

Dramatic TT indeed with quite a lot of changes. And even Schleck in some serious trouble there, as the gap and bonus seconds he got on Alpe d'Huez turned out to be decisive. Also Spilak with a very good performance to claim third place overall. And congratulations to jt1109 on a dominating stage win. Quite a ride from Phinney, making the top 5 overall very close after 21 stages, PCM wise.

Also thank you for the report, roturn. Definitely exciting to read picture by picture there and follow the fight for the podium and the yellow jersey.

Whining is the only thing that works in this game. Whenever I expect my riders to do something, they don't - But when I whine they suddenly performs - More or less Smile

I prefer not tempting your fate though, but rather some other teams Pfft

Let's agree to take one stagewin each there then. Fingers are crossed that Fiedler doesn't come there to steal away our points Smile

Some good duels in that TT. The seconds that Schleck gained on the 19th stage really coming in handy. Would have loved to see Dombrowski holding on to the podium, but a great performance from Spilak. Ã…s expected, not a good result for us after a long Tour. Just hope for an offensive showing now on the final day.

Too bad that Dombo misses out on the podium but future belongs to him regardless. Spilak getting the goal in literally last sec for SotD, drama drama. Great tour coverage roturn, enjoyed it a lot.

Congratulations to SN and the podium managers. Too bad tho that Crommy is inactive too.

Had hoped for a top-5 this Tour but Phinney was way too strong for Kritskiy, overall a very good Tour for Tinkoff: Kritskiy 6th in the GC and 6 riders in the top-60, a strong team performance!

Thanks a lot mate. It ended up pretty well after all, despite Spilak fucking us over this season. Atleast I can hope he will get a lower wage, as he will get noway near last seasons points harvest.

But after this finish I suspect I will be - together with Vesuvio, pretty close to you at the top. 250-350 points behind you is my best estimated guess. Depending on how Bewley does in that final stage Smile

I guess I probably won't keep the lead, as Bewley is my only major scorer here. I will have a big need for a strong late season from especially Sagan and Howard. I think you are probably the favourite now. Wink

Very good race for me with Top10 race goal acchieved. Plus KoM and Swifts 3 stages.

Congrats SN for the overall but also SotD, who despite whining the most was scoring huge. Not your i think unrealistic 2000 points but around 1500-1600, which is just what Vesuvio also got.

Of course also to all the others that did well.

Full rankings here will come next week. Still away until Tuesday.

First of all, thanks a lot for a great race report Roturn. That was a perfect piece of work, nothing less of spectacular.

Also a big congratulations to Vesuvio and SN for a perfect season from Andy Schleck. If he wins Liechtenstein (which I assume is his final 2 racedays) then he have won every single race he entered - which would be 4 I think. Pretty amazing piece of work from a rider with no particular TT or HI stat to back it up. In the mountains he is just untouchable, although this race was very close in the end. If Spilak had been able to just follow Taaramäe on stage 13 he would have lost the race. Unfortunately he relied too heavily on Lecuisinier costing him the race. Also congrats for Marc Goos yet another drastically overperforming. 11th is certainly something for a 77MO, 74HI and 76TT rider. As comparison riders like Novak (77MO, 73HI and 76TT) ended up being 28th.

Talking about that I have to be a bit sad for Kenya who lose 28th for Grmay and both my riders, Novak and Vasyliv, jumps ahead of him. Not that there is a whole lot of points to take from that, but it still sucks to see. Also Ki Ho Choi, Nairo Quintana, Tim Dees and Florian Morizot losing some points due to this final race. Atleast no one from the top 15 was involved and losing a lot of points. It is sad, however that Johann van Zyl after having had quite some time in the bottom of the top 100 just misses out, being 101st after this stage - Oh well, it is really in the petitesse department, but still sad.

Congrats to Sam Bewley for winning the final stage taking a step in the right direction to defending Becherovka in the top of the rankings. Also cio was right about Demare being a contender in the final stage, although it must feel crappy to have spent that many racedays on him here - Likewise for Degenkolb who had a dreadful race when looking at the expectations. Ponzi also crowning a very strong race with 3rd here also climbing a bit in the points list.

Great race for Bouygues Telecom here to really get out of the relegation battle, and Dombrowski helps Pendleton's right to the top of the rankings around the top 5 I think also winning the U25 competition. Great achievement from the young rider.

If I am to look at my own team there are a lot of +++, but a few hefty negatives aswell. Spilak not going well enough is obviously the biggest negative here for us. We expected atleast 2nd, and with the team we sent we wanted the win. But maybe the team was exactly the problem. Spilak had the jersey at a troublesome time and costed him the win as he relied too much on Lecuisinier. Also we wanted 2 stagewins from him, which he didn't deliver. Especially on the hilly stages (where we had the leaders jersey) was not good enough. BUT:

Getting 3 stagewins, having the leaders jersey for 9 days, having the U25 jersey for 6 days, winning the Team GC, having two riders in the U25 top 10 (2nd and 9th), having two riders in the KOM top 10 (5th and 9th), Getting 3rd in the Points competition and having these GC results, should make it a good race for us nontheless:

3 Simon Spilak
7 Pierre-Henri Lecuisinier
28 Jakub Novak
29 Yuriy Vasyliv
85 Jerome Coppel
120 Maxime Bouet

Only two riders abandoning the race, which was known was a real possibility from the start, Panagiotis Vlatos and Mathieu Bernaudeau - Both brought solely for the TTT, which we fortunately won. I am a bit dissapointed with Vlatos though, as he fucked up the prologue where I expected him to be atleast in contention of a top 10.

Good race, fun to follow. Congrats to all those that got what they came for!

Thanks Smile

Well no one used as many key riders racedays as I did, so I think it's OK to have some high expectations. My squad had a value of 2.300.000€ worth of wages. I doubt anyone else can dublicate that, despite you, Becherovka, Vesuvio and Bouygues all having pretty expensive teams here also. Well maybe a team who had an overpaid FA leader like Phinney at 1.550.000€, but real value Pfft

And if my calculations are correct I get 1694 points from the race, while Vesuvio get 1692.

Possibly also your values.

Cant check from here but it was definately close between you two.

And apparently your riders here are overpaid then. Pfft

Yeah, we need to take a look into that in the off season Wink - I told it already in the last off season where I had to get rid of Ricco, Pichon and Paillot just to keep the riders that I have now Pfft

11s off the podium is a little painful after all that but a great performance from Dombo and 18"35 clear in the U25 standings should do. Shame the others were more or less absent but the points haul wouldn't have been huge anyways.

Huge thanks to roturn for some great and very regular reports, you do some fantastic work for us and we're very grateful.

Another good stage by Henao. Too bad he will be missing the top 10.

And us 2nd in the rankings? We will be lucky to still be in the top 5. I'm pretty sure teams like Vesuvio have outscored us here by 1000 points Wink

You are definately in the top 10. Who should be a threat to that position? Puma was too far behind from the go, and in the GC they won't get that many points on you. 100 or so I think.

Aker had nothing, Metinvest had a decent race but nothing in terms of GC, and Evonik just had nothing. Aegon is not going to catch that much, and if I'm not mistaken I need to catch 300+ points in the final here. Vesuvio might overtake you - and probably will, you are right about that. Pendleton's, Bouygues and RBC were all way too far behind to catch you, but will close the gap a lot of course.

I think I am currently 200 points (give or take) ahead of Vesuvio and if we close the race now we will end up losing around 300 points in the final rankings, which have them in 2nd 100 points ahead of you and me, and then Puma slightly behind with Metinvest and Evonik possibly being caught by Pendleton's and then a gap of 200 points or so to Aegon (Depending on the final sprint). Becherovka will be leading the PT by 600-700 points after this race.

I haven't check though, but my feeling is that it will be something similar to that Smile

Ehm, we what??

Worst GT race of the history of our team probably, i feel ashamed as the manager and have to say that it is about time to disband the team really, after this performance we should have not been invited to next races in PT, we dont deserve it.

Just few top10s from Guardini, who was only bright moment of our Tour. Before he DNFed

Zmorka horrible, 6th in prologue and early DNF is underperformance and our TTT with him, Ignatiev, Hepburn and others was almost last, that is terrible, huge shocker from one of the best TTT oriented teams of recent cycling seasons, which Metinvest is.

Karnulin was great...and then he crashed, fucking up everything, finishing like 75th overall, thus loanee Squire is best Metinvest finisher somewhere around 65th place?

Ignatiev....was he really in the race? I saw him doing great top 10 in Paris, then in one attack early in the race and that is all, really enough for rider with one of best AVGs in database, with 85 fighter stat? nope

Pffff, i am glad that this race is over, only good thing were fast and great reports from roturn, thanks mate. And congrats to all happy teams.
I'll be back
