I give it up. I thought gameplay can´t be worse after California, but this Vuelta is even multiple bullshit.

If only Tejay had a worthy rival left on the hilly stages after Skujins and Ginanni crashed out...

Those crashes just suck! It's really devastating for the game, and definately takes away a large portion of the fun. Pokerstars have been hit to a ridiculous amount. So bad that they are likely to relegate from it.
Coquard with yet another poor sprint before seeing another similar hilly result. TVG winning, Lusenko beast performing, Gesink gaining time. Koretzky attacking too soon, Lecuisinier doing great and a GC contender losing the race. Seems to have been pre-determined.

Actually starting to ride quite well as a team now that the injuries have healed it seems with BOily managing his first good result of the tour massive shame he was injured early on as with the hilly stages being so brutal he could of really done well here well done Naud to very attacking ride |

TJ looking dangerous for Gesink's green jersey. Good thing there's only one hilly stage left
Gesink responded to Pluchkin's stage win the way he knows best: gaining time in the hills.
Edit: actually looking at the rankings, if Pluchkin goes mad in the mountains and Gesink struggles he might have a real shot at the green jersey.

Lutsenko not got quite enough to get the stage wins but nice to see him in the mix, Nibali going a bit better there too. Thanks for the reports

TVG is absolutely stunning this Vuelta. And he has one more shot at a hilly stage... Another solid stage win and huge gaps, and he could actually manage a top 5. Though, as it stands now, a top 10 seems much more likely. Congrats nevertheless, Mre, must be a thrill!
Guldhammer with a very good stage, and suddenly a top 5 looks doable, assuming he will manage to catch and pass TVG in the GC. Though, we're about to finish the hilly stuff, and in the mountains especially Velits should be superior of the riders chasing him, meaning a place between 6th and 10th looks more likely.
Sucks to see this Vuelta being dominated by crashes with big riders involved. Tenorio loosing a pretty sure top 5 and his podium ambitions due to a crash, is just sad. |

Idiotic hilly gameplay, my eyes hurt watching it...always the same rider escaping and other 150+ riders do shit, right, seems legit.
Congrats Mre nevertheless and thanks for the top notch reports roturn!
We had two nice stages in the mountains prior to that with Aleksandr. 2nd place and later a stage win, finally something positive from this race for us. One or two more stage wins in high mountains and we even cant call this Vuelta a disaster.
Btw. what a terrible luck for our friends from Pokerstars...the crash frequency setup ruins the whole season for some teams, maybe even seasons to come.

Kolesnikov is getting stronger day by day now it seems, so the battle for 13th place could be fun to watch!

While both the terrain and the time gap won't allow much hope as of now, the fatigue looks like it's been kicking in for all riders. Pluchkin might try to get as close as possible to Gesink, but nearly 9 minutes in 3 mountain stages and a half are hard to make up.
Congrats Avin though!

Great job by Koretzky to take 2nd in the KOM competition. He probably acknowledged that he couldn't win these stages so got us some points in another fashion. That is appreciated.
Lecuisinier slightly worse than "normally" here, but good enough. Tejay van Garderen should be overtaken on the next stage, and most importantly we did not lose significant time to the worst competitors for the top 5 spot - despite me thinking that I will not get that.
Vasyliv and Gougeard not good enough today, so we lose 3rd in the team GC. Campero dropping far behind also. He needs to use those mountain stages effectively to climb well inside top 50. He and Vasyliv should both be able to end at around top 30, but I guess we will have to settle for top 40 instead - or even worse.
I have to cross my fingers that Koretzky will keep being very aggressive in the final stages to get a good KOM position, and helping us in the team GC. Lecuisinier should be helped primarily by Vasyliv, Potocki and Campero.

Can't imagine being in PT and get those performances which such a team Pokerstars has. Painful to witness :/
Pliuchkin seems to be turning this vuelta around for him though, not such a horrific vuelta for him as first thought then. Congratz Avin! The quadruple might be a stretch though

Better stage, Kudus around the top 15 and moves back into the top 20 GC as a result. |

Gesink missing a great opportunity to take a third stage win there. And losing to Pluchkin of all his rivals is even worse.
A bit disappointed how Brambilla rode today. Lost two places in the GC and it won't be easy to get them back since he will most likely ride his ass off for Gesink. Still, 15th in the GC for him is more than decent.

Another solid stage from Guldhammer, and without that terrible mountain stage he would have been a true contender for a top 5. As it stands now, he should be able to pass Van Garderen, but maybe not before the final mountain stage/the MTT, but it's looking very difficult to keep Velits behind. But we shall see, no doubts he has shown encouraging signs in the last couple of stages.
Congratulations on another stage win, Avin! I'd say it's impossible to call this a failure of a race for Pluchkin now, and even before this stage as well, assuming he ends 2nd in the GC, but with a stage win (now two). And he could very well add to that as well seeing what's left.
Thank you for the report, roturn |

Solid stage for us! Velits did well for once and Sagan kept his high standard in hilly stage too! Looking quite a bit better than one stage before!
