Well, 9 potential doesn't indeed exist, must be something random. You'd better edit it because otherwise it will fuck up that rider (at least). Also make sure you didn't mess up with this feature of the editor:
Short description of the mass editing feature
Select the column you want to edit, then select how you want to change the values in that column. Lastly enter the value or factor, then press 'Apply'.
At the moment only numeric columns can be altered using one of these modes:
"=" will overwrite the values in the column with the given number
"+" will increase the value in the column by the given number
"-" will decrease the value in the column by the given number
"+ %" will increase the value in the column by the given percentage
"- %" will decrease the value in the column by the given percentage
For example you can increase the age of decline for all riders by 2. Or you lower the sprint value for all Italian riders by 5%. Unlimited possibilities also means unlimited possibilities to mess so, so save before using this feature. You can also make a backup of the cdb file to be extra sure.

the players with 9 potential start with an average like 50 - 58
and end with an 60-68 potential -_- |

It used to affect fitness in single race mode, but I don't think it works since PCM12 or 13, not sure.

Actually I think it's something that was going ti be adeed in pcm 11 but was never implemented completely (nothing new to be fair) , so nothing.

the more chance you have that the peleton will chase you
if you are in a breakaway? |

No,just a left-over idea, confusing players since PCM 11 
Well, normally the strength of a rider affects its chance to be caught by the peloton

@Lachi. Hi, i seem to having a problem assigning eqiup to my team. I have created brands in STA_Brand (eg Cyfac) I assign the contract in DYN Brand contract, link the equip in STA equip and FKID equip in the team information. Then export the .CDB and nothing is working in the game.....so when i re open the file in the editor the STA brands have vanished and in the Team and STA Equipment pages all the ID's have gone to minus (-128 / -129 / -130) numbers ?? Can you help? |

It was happening to me quite a lot of times too, with Lachi's editor and sadly that's the reason why I can't use it at all. Looks like there's no solution available to that, as Lachi explained to TMM, the only one looks to be... well using another editor. https://pcmdaily.com/forum/viewthread....ost_974581

There are a lot of alternatives, I personally use 2 editors, PCM Fast Editor, that works great and it's really handy, and excel editor that makes my life easier if I'm doing a big db copy/paste work

Matt: As far as I understand, the problem discussed with TMM has nothing to do with the problem mentioned by newbsta.
@newbsta: I don't think this is a problem of my editor. If you use my editor to build a cdb and then re-open that very same cdb, nothing can disappear.
I cannot help you with editing the database. I am a programmer, not a database maker.
Also I cannot help if the game messes up a database.
But like Matt said, there are plenty of other editors. So why not doing a small test with another editor? |

Lachi,
in the visualization of Dyn_cyclist_season, there are rider names shown linked to the first column, but I think this is incorrect. The first_column is used as a primairy key and is not a foreign_key and therefor a reference.
It's the other way around; in dyn_cyclist, fkIDcyclist_season is used as a foreign_key
