I've made my choice and I'm sticking by it.
Now how do I get around this? Isn't it possible to simply download the DB and place it in the DB folder? Isn't that what we've done earlier?

No one will help you
Anyone who installs Norton needs to be weeded out of the gene pool for the good of the species
But hey, look on the bright side, at least Norton recently fixed that bug where it considered itself a virus and tried to delete itself...
So what you're saying is that I can't use the DB? Pity.

There should be a way to add an exception to Norton for the PCMdaily exe, or at least stop it from deleting it automatically without first consulting you about what action you want to take. However, I haven't a clue exactly where to find these options since I don't use Norton.

@cactus
I use Norton (yeah i said it, and what!) and it also tried to delete the .exe file (although the reasons it gave were perfectly sound). But it asked me if i wanted to Run or Delete first... Obviously i clicked Run.
Simple way around it. Download file. But when you go to open it, just close all internet, turn of wi-fi or what ever, then close Norton, then open the installer. Once it's installed, turn Norton back on.
If it's deleting it during Download you can fiddle with some of the Norton settings and make it recognize certain sources/sites as safe before hand. You can then undo these changes afterwards to get back the full security blanket.
Slightly unrelated. My Norton never tried to delete itself, ever! It also regularly sweeps out my laptop, never missing anything (at least that i can see when i search through) or removing safe things. Pretty good overall, and always give great customer support.

My norton was fine with the file. I just needed me to verify that I wanted to download it and whether it was safe. Have you tried looking in the settings? Or maybe try the download again, as I know norton works out the threat level from the number of previous downloads. 1437 downloads must show it to be safe enough.

There was never any trouble while downloading the file. It was only when I tried to run it that Norton deleted it. I have never seen something like that happen before.
Edit: It was blocked again, but this time Windows asked me if I wanted to run it anyway. I'll try downloading just the exe-file and adding it to the list of exceptions in Norton. I've never done it before so we'll see how it works out.
But I can't remember having this much trouble earlier. Wasn't it just a matter of downloading the DB and placing it in the correct folder?

No, all the parts are intercompatible, so you can download and mix as you like form the torrent, Multi and Mega. However, I suppose one of your files is corrupted and has to be re-downloaded.
You can check whether a file is 'complete' by looking at its MD5 checksum. It has to be
exe: 8EFE9770054EAEA3FD1054C7EBC884D5
002: D854609280CA1C0C0411AD1839C2C6FE

You can check your files using e.g. HashTab: https://www.implbits.com/HashTab/HashT...ndows.aspx.
When you find a file that doesn't have the same value as above, you know which files to redownload

Okay, I was able to install it by adding the exe-file to the list of exceptions in Norton.
However, after the installation was finished I got a warning saying "WS.Reputation.1 has been detected. (Open programs need to be closed)."
It says the file is removed and has been quarentined (seriously, Norton?). I take it this is a normal problem and I should just restore the file?

A normal Norton problem, perhaps... doesn't happen with better antivirus software
Either way, there's no viruses included. |

Hmm... that sounds like something someone who included a virus would say...

As far as I remember Daily has always been installed by an .exe file.

Actually, both the Australian and the New Zealand NC TT exist, but the Australian has a bug on the date and is set for May, leaving only the NZL one in January

First of all thanks for this great package. Must have been an awful lot of work. Just like last year I started my first career right after the DailyDB release.
Haven't found "real" bugs, but wanna share some thoughts after my first season races:
For some reason I found my 2012 version of the GP San Giuseppe in it.
Made a downloadable 2013 Edition which is prettier..., but more important whoever converted it forgot to untick "merge finishline".
Just saw another example in the first stage of the Tour de Bretagne:
Would be kewl if it could be fixed wherever it is possible, but it's not that a big deal.
When PCM13 was released the first stage (that came with the game) I tested was...
GP Industria & Artigianato
...where I found this
Another thing that worries me a little is the huge amount of starters even in the smallest races.
As I always use a custom team I ride .2 races most of the time. In every event I participated till April appear 18-25 Teams and 140-200 riders.
Maybe some races can be added? It's tough/a lot of competition for my youth squad.
On the tech part everything runs fine till here. Good work!
...just the custom team logo in the lower left looks a bit too small for it's frame.

Thanks for the feedback
About San Giuseppe, I don't really know how I could miss one of your stages It'll be included in the upcoming patch The wrong borders/people in the end of stages is indeed annoying. The problem is it happens way too often and several stage makers don't really know about it/don't fix it, so it's hard to have it correct in all stages. Concerning Tour de Bretagne, it's a community-made stage, so I'll try to get in touch with the maker and see if he can fix it. As for GP Industria, I'm afraid it's a stage that comes with the game, so less chance to have it fixed Nevertheless, if you or anyone wants to make a list of all stages that they see the problem in and let us know about it we'll try to fix as many stages as possible
About the logo, it's a problem with some logos, in PCM11 (when many graphics of the current sponsors were made) the positioning of the logos in the file was like that in order to appear good in game, but now it's changed in PCM13 (the logo no longer appears on the rider's infobox). It's another thing that I'd like to go over/correct in the future. For now, I've attached a better logo for Focus (and HD transferts as well)

I get an error when trying to install.
Says I don't have adequate permissions to write to the desktop.
1. I am logged in as an admin
2. I checked that I had permission to do anything to the desktop
3. The install path was selected correctly.
4. Not sure why it cares about the desktop anyway. I think it only puts a shortcut there.
Any thoughts?
Thanks.

Anyone find how to get around the bug where simulating a event on the same day as another event you end up not being able to play it. It automatically skips it! |
