Wow after 16 stages of absolutely nothing, Kunshin delivers big time! 4 more tricky stages for the GC.

Strange to lose a bit of time there, still happy to have more than a nose in front of things. Just a bit too much enthusiasm from Jose.
Just four stages left - two easy days for the team I think with the MTT pretty much all down to Jose. That could tighten things up before the thrilling finale of this race.
As I said before squeaky bum time Thanks for the reports SN two straight GTs nearly there!

Great report!
Slightly surprised to see Contador not active at all, but it was an even bigger surprise to see Alarcon lose 20 seconds at the end.
I doubt Contador will be able to take time on the Venezuelan on the MTT as he is the better climber, which means that TT will be all about limiting losses to especially Machado and Tenorio, but also of course Denifl. |

Luckily all riders got through safe in the rain
Congratulations to niconico, those teams represented in breakaways this vuelta are really taking it away, just like last year.
Now it's all about the final three stages, and I'm looking a lot forward to see how the MTT plays out. Seeing how relatively even the GC guys (except Alarcon) have been on the mountain stages, a minute won or lost in the race against the truth could be crucial. |

Another stage in red, gotta help before the chrono. You feel that things are gonna tighten up here on GC - Tenorio surely must be taking the stage or maybe Machado. Hoping Jose shows his mountain machismo once more.
A welcome win for b and o in the obvious breakaway, hoping for similar on stage 20.

Solar eclipse! A rare happening with a B&O rider crossing the line first! Very welcome win by Arndt!

As I thought things tighten up, crucially Jose saved himself for the climb and limited his losses. I am hopeful that he could hold off all on the final stage up Tiede, but stage 20 next is more of a concern. Looking for good old no gaps with a long breakaway win.
Tenorio still seems strong and still has the chance to rescue his team, denifls incredible run in the podium places is over and it feels as if Machado is the most dangerous threat. but Contador of course is the Spanish darling and he could be the hero here for them.
Thanks for the report, near the end of the gt tour of duty for SN!

Valverde, Valls and GM with a close fight there. Hopefully things will change a bit to my favour.
Nice report and very exciting last two stages now. |

Time margin between Alarcon and two fellow Spaniards Contador & Tenorio promises incredible battle in last two stages (more likely the very last one). While Denifl will be probably very happy to stay inside TOP5, Machado could put the pressure as well. Looking forward to a very very exciting finale (please no AI failure ).
From perspective of my team, Roche did what he could, keeping 15th place just ahead of Faiers. Next "hilly" stage could play into Roche´s card though, I wouldn´t mind to see him joining BOTD again.

Same here, Kunshin, Belkov and Ignatenko are recovering very well, so one of them in a BOTD could result in a second Vuelta a Espana win for Tinkoff!

Good stage from Contador, but a bit disappointing that such a huge looking MTT doesn't provide bigger gaps.
It still looks somewhat safe for Alarcon considering how he has been riding on the mountain stages, meaning the hilly stage 20 might be make or break for Contador. I mean, if there's one hilly/mountainous stage we should contribute to the chase, this is obviously the one, hopefully AI doesn't let us down...
Thanks for another nice report, SN! Your job with both la Vuelta and the Giro has been incredible. |

Go Alarcon and Simply Red Bull!!!! My favorite PT team have just done something quite incredible, bar any strange catashtrophies. So happy for the manager and the rider who's been such a significant PCT figure for so long.
SN you have yet again done a massive service to the game with the Vuelta.

Yes, almost at the end now - and quite a finale in prospect. 29 seconds between Alarcon and Contador, 13 between Tenorio, Machado and Denfil, 12 between Nibali and Rujano.
Thanks to those who have commented after each stage. It helps a bit although it is kinda frustrating that so many PT managers just don't seem to care one bit.
