Thta's just ridiculous. Horner is far better. All the Leotards get a chance to lead, regardless of skill. But this isn't a ranting thread, so I'll stop.
Last year Monfort lead Leopard in the Vuelta, and finished in the top-10, 6th or 7th. No surprises that he leads the team again.
Yeah, but Horner won the 4th Grand Tour!

Yeah, I know. It's not by that much. Monfort is better with TTs, but in my opinion, Horner is a better climber, and that is more important. Horner is a better rider. Not by that much, but why does it have to be by that much?

Didn't he even work for Fuglsang at some point (making his 6th place more impressive) until Jakob totally exploded? I can't remember because I was busy wondering what the hell was Froome doing there.

Actually he won the 5th. Don't forget that the TDU is the 4th.

You have to remember Horner is like 10 years older or something, and most of his wins are not in Europe...
But seriously I bet the riders are both fine with this, its only you that has a problem with it.

Mmmm, now that you mention that, I think until the Anglirú stage, Fuglsang was inside the top-5, and he even got the leader's jersey in the team time trial since he was the team leader. In the third week he fell to 11th. So I think Monfort took the role of leader in the final week. |

I hear as well Nibali will not be at the Giro. Liquigas will be backing Basso.
Agnoli, Capecchi, Caruso, Salerno, Szmyd, Maciej Bodnar, Paolo Longo Borghini, and Fabio Sabatini. |

That's very good news for Andy's chances at the Tour.

Having said that, he won't be able to hide behind his brother as the excuse why he failed to win it again.... |

Thats a Bruyneel quote.
“I see a lot of opportunities for Fränk as well as for the team,” commented Team Manager Johan Bruyneel. "Fränk is a born leader and a team needs a leader. Moreover – though bad luck and circumstances did not provide the right results - he has shown in the last few weeks that his condition has already reached a high level. I am confident he can surprise us in the coming weeks.

Not sure. Given the supposedly bad atmosphere at RNT, and a possible split up between the Bruyneel gang and the Schleck gang, I think we should get ready to read or hear something along the lines of "I really missed a strong teammate today, with the lack of help provided by the team, there was no way I could defend my chances today. The team will have to take the responsibility of not bringing Andy to help me. We could have won this easily had he been here." |
