Greg van Avermaet (CCC) takes the victory on the fourth and final stage of the Tour de Yorkshire ahead of INEOS' Chris Lawless and Eddie Dunbar. The overall victory goes to Chris Lawless, first British winner of the GC at the Tour de Yorkshire, with Van Avermaet and Dunbar rounding out the podium.
Greg's attack over the hill within the final 5km not quite able to engineer the result he needed to force a countback situation or claim the overall victory outright.

INEOS had all the right cards and played them well.
Greg did what he could but CCC was just not strong enough as a team.
Hats off to Riwal Readynez, they played it as a top WT team every day, but INEOS was just to strong for a small team like that.

Wow Asgreen! Great finish and great all day from what I've read - he's amazing!
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

Saw it live and it was unbelievably good, right timing attacks and held a super Van Garderen till the end, he who will probrably forget how to climb as soon as he returns to Europe. |

Everyone with winner same time, very bad decision imo by jury, there were multiple crashes, all outside last 3km, justyfyng riders were close to it...I totally dislike last tendency to enlarge safe zone or readmit riders like this case with extraordinary statements, race still be race.

That's too much benefit for Tejay in my opinion, a crash with 10km to go should not result in same time given.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

I didn't watch the stage and experience has taught me to be cautious as a result...but if what I'm reading, from various reputable sources, is correct, then it stinks FULL STOP!
As I read it, he was held up twice well before 3km, the crash OUTSIDE 3km was before he even got back into the peloton and this naturally held him up again. If so it's a double whammy of blatantly disregarding a rule...

Tejay cracks like always, so we can all breath a sigh of relief that the ruling ended up being irrelevant.
I have no idea why he is still pretending to be a GC contender. It sucks, but he hasn't had climbing legs in years now. Hard to believe he ever finished top 5 in the Tour. He seems to still have his TT skills. If I were him I'd just focus on that from now on. Watching him try to compete as a stage racer is honestly sad at this point. it's predictably pathetic.

Tejay needs a long time trial to make a difference. Just focus on that from now on.
Amazing performance by the kids, Higuita really showing his value today, great climb on first WT race. |

Teejay should have faked a mechanical so they could have neutralized the entire climb.

That would be hilarious "final climb neutralized times will be taken at the bottom"
