Grupo Argos - Quala is back on track. Also able to help a lot more with administrative stuff. Let the good times roll - transfer season
Decent renewals this year for our squad. We could keep our great mixture of captains and talents for 2019. The title will be the goal for 2019, while the squad may face further change to enhance that.
Thanks for all the work you set in making the progress happen, bikex! Renewals and development worked brilliantly. Also I recognized some great work by Ripley and knockout in support, awesome stuff guys. It's also perfect to see that many teams continuing, think we rarely had those few disbands. A shame though that we haven't seen too many new managers yet, keep the sign-ups coming!!
Impressive steals here. I was surprised to see team letting Majka and Kwiatkowski go, would've never done that eventhough being in trouble. Great additions for the new WT teams, a major kickstart for their 2019 campaign. Some interesting riders (especailly Stage Racers) like Contador, TvG and Froome on the market, will be very interesting to see how the WT will be reshuffeled next year. We'll try our best to attack the top.

Two questions. One, does anyone know why most of the colours in the DB don't appear in LibreOffice (not even all of them, I still get the odd 77 DH stat that's coloured)? And two, has anyone ever filled their team right from the getgo with free agents? Because I'm kind of considering trying that right now.

I feel like I will try - I have an outline that I think makes for a pretty darn good promotion candidate teem - but then again, wheeling and dealing can always end up being more lucrative sometimes, so I won't rule it out.

That's more than I get with Libre Office. Open Office is better (with that) and colours the rider stats properly for me.

Yeah dealing can indeed be better but for example I felt much better just doing my thing, not depending on anyone else and just getting FA's last season, and I came in a dominant first in CT (not the intention to look cocky ) and I plan on doing the same this season, excluding the riders that are in the team post-steals/renewals

Well, I'll take that for inspiration then, and I guess it's just down to personal preference. Still, in this particular case, the FA signings might be the key focus for new teams, there's a lot of big talent still on the board.

Don't forget you'll need to save some budget for Scouting and Research/Training. Giving away that money as a transfer fee, better be worthwhile to lose out on those other key areas.
Or do what i am with Cool Runnings and just focus on a tiny area of the world that has minimal to no real talent so it doesn't matter how you do things cause the team will suck either way

Respect for doing that though, it makes me happy as a Jamaican to see a Jamaican team in the ICL.
And thank you, I'll be sure to keep some back. Around how much would be an average amount to be left with after transfers?

Sorry for not posting much this week, will try to get transfers going on the weekend. The actual transfer season then should be shorter than in previous seasons |

Transfers
Download Transfer Sheet: https://www.mediafire.com/file/2h05d1y...Sheet.xlsx
As already announced there are changes to the transfer system compared to previous seasons. The transfer sheet will help you to keep track of transfers in general and your actions on the market.
Transfer Mechanics
Unlike previously the transfer market is now continously open, you are able to perform any transfer actions at any time. At the end of each day (exact time still to be announced) an update is posted with riders signed from the Free Agency and trades between teams.
1. Free Agents
You can send in bids on still available Free Agents at any time of the transfer season. At the end of the 2nd day (48-72 hours) after rider has received his first offers he will respond. If he got only one offer or the second highest offer is less than 80% of the leading offer, the rider will sign for that team. If the rider got several offers of at least 80% of the leading offer, he'll ask all bidders to send in a renewed offer. You'll have to bid at least 90% of your previous bid, you can't back out of the negotiations at this point. The rider will sign for the highest renewed offer.
2. Trades
Trade Deals between different teams will be posted in a seperate thread. Trades will be made possible after the first Free Agents have been signed.
There a two ways to do a transfer deal:
2.1 Deals
Deals can be negotiated between managers in private, one manager posts the deal the other confirms.
2.2 Auctions
A manager can put a rider up for auction with a minimum fee he'd accept. Other managers can post bids on that rider (pure money bids, but also bids including other riders are allowed). The manager having put up the rider can then decide to accept one of the offers.
Transfer Sheet Guide
Start by entering your team ID into C2 in "Start". In case you have forgotten it, you can find it in tab "Teams". You'll get an overview of all important transfer information you need. In case you want to keep something back for Research and Scouting enter it in C6 & C7 (Information: https://pcmdaily.com/forum/viewthread...st_1188170 -> #6 & #7)
After the end of a day, an update will be posted including tables which can be copied into your transfer sheet to keep it up to date. The DB in the "DB" tab will be kept up to date according to the tables pasted into "Paste". You have the option to mark riders using the "Note" column.
1. Free Agents
To place bids on Free Agents go to the "FABids" tab, find the rider(s) you'd like to sign and enter your offers into column M next to them. When done send in columns C-E of the "FA PM" tab.
[TODO]
Important Rules
1. After transfers are done you'll need to have signed your minimum amount of riders. Team with an U23 teams will have to have at least 8 eligible riders under contract (AVG <= 72.0; Age <= 23). Be within your budget when transfers have ended.
2. You are not allowed to sell riders you have signed previously in this transfer season. You only are allowed to use them in riders swap, in which you are not gaining any money. Both sides have to provide the reason in a written statement via PM, why they have signed a rider you do not plan on keeping and reserve ourselves the right to also invalidate these kind of deals.
3. Transfer fees going into your team from other teams due to trades mustn't be higher than 800 more than fees going out.
4. Only bid a multiple of five. If you don't your bid will be changed to the next smaller multiple of five.
5. In case you want to sack any riders, you are allowed to fire up to 5 riders. For the first 3 you'll have to pay a fine of 50% of the riders wage, for the next two 75%.
Transfer Schedule
A day will always end on 10pm CEST, meaning everything received until then will be considered for the update following the day.
Monday (15.10) will be day 1 - meaning first Free Agents will be signed after Wednesday (10pm). However all bids received until Wednesday will be considered as sent in on day 1. Tables will be sent out after the first update for second bids in case a rider was contested by several teams, you'll have time until Friday to do them. So these riders will be added to teams from then. Trades will be allowed starting Saturday (-> from Friday 10pm).
The post is not yet completed, but you are free to already send me or Croatia your first FA bids. The first transfer update will come in a few days. It will be possible for every manager to send in bids, before the first riders decide where to sign.

I've sent in my first FA bids (it's good to be punctual) but I did have a problem with the file, which I'd like to troubleshoot, being not that experienced with the deeper functions in spreadsheet software.
I use LibreOffice for context - used to use Open Office, but it's having a problem of freezing when I try to open a file that's too big. Anyway, I opened the file for the first time and in the DB tab, pretty much the whole table was grey with black text. It was alright, it was still usable and I had taken notes of my FA bids from before, so I just put together my bids, copied them off, and closed the file. I went back to open it again to double check before sending them off, and now in the DB tab, the entire table was the green of 74-78 stats with white text, bar the Teams column which was the normal grey, with slightly darker grey text. I was confused by this, so I closed the document (without making any changes) and opened it again, to find the green had now changed to red (everything else remained the same). When I did this once more, the background colours remained the same, but all the text became invisible (the same colour as the background). Now any time I open the document it just shows that in the DB tab.
I'm not sure what the cause of this is, if maybe LibreOffice deals with conditional formatting in a different way than Excel is my best guess, but then I still can't explain the arbitrary changing of it without making any changes to the document.

If the only problem is the db tab you could open the latest db in a new instance if Libre Office or in Open Office - as I said, OO displays the colour scheme for the rider stats much better. You could also try and save the file as .ods after first opening it and then only load/use that.
@Bikex: If transfers are now simultaneous to free agents I'll have to update my FAQ. No, I meant to say, I guess we need a transfer discussion and a transfer thread right away?

Is it possible to have research costs before sending in transfer lists?

Will open the transfer threads once they are needed.
Research costs will also be posted very soon, not much will change from previously.
@Aquarius: That was a mistake somehow the column got shifted so you got the fee of Vittel. I updated the transfer sheet! |

Free Agents signings start right now, trading will start once I announce it.
You won't have any disadvantages if you don't send in FA bids immediately though. I'll wait some days (preferably until everyone has sent something in) until riders will start looking at their offers. |

Yes please, I'll need a while to look over my options.
To all managers; I'm fairly happy with my team, but looking for ways to improve so I will be prepared to listen to any offers.
