I have been paying zero attention to the Tirreno-Adriatico news so I did not come in time to change my bet on Dumoulin, but oh well, at least managed to get that miraculous right answer to the bonus question. |

Podium
1) Marc Soler
2) Simon Yates
3) Gorkha Izagirre
The trend of unexpected results in the World Tour continued at Paris - Nice with Marc Soler winning this race! Simon Yates, despite winning on the mountain top on the penultimate stage, lost the GC on the final stage. Gorkha Izagirre completed the unlikely podium. As mentioned before, Yates did win the MTF.
Only Croatia picked Gorkha Izagirre to be on the podium and gets points for that pick. No one else had any of the podium finishers in their predictions. Croatia, again, got the bonus question correct, which gives him 20 points and the race win ( ).
The slightly updated table:
| Name | Races Entered | Bonuses | Total Points | | de_Trek | 6 | 35 | 105 | | Aquarius97 | 6 | 35 | 90 | | Marcovdw | 6 | 15 | 65 | | Selwink | 6 | | 60 | | roturn | 6 | 10 | 55 | | Raziz | 6 | 10 | 50 | | purepasd | 6 | | 50 | | hillis91 | 6 | 10 | 50 | | AbhishekLFC | 6 | 10 | 50 | | jandal7 | 6 | | 45 | | trekbmc | 4 | 10 | 40 | | United Forever | 4 | 10 | 40 | | Croatia14 | 6 | 25 | 30 | | FreitasPCM | 5 | | 25 | | emre99 | 2 | | 15 |

Really hard not to put 1. Demare 2. Swift on that. but we know which French sprinter will really win.

Table updated post Paris - Nice. I had missed Croatia picking Gorkha for the podium earlier. He gets an additional 5 points as a result.

Tirreno - Adriatico Result
Podium
1) Michal Kwiatkowski
2) Damiano Caruso
3) Geraint Thomas
Answer to Bonus Question: Who will be the GC leader after the Stage 1 Team Time Trial? is Damiano Caruso.
Kwiatkowski took the lead from Caruso on stage 5 by virtue of bonus seconds and held on comfortably till the finish, extending it on the final stage ITT. Thomas moved into the 3rd on the final day, utilising his TT skills well. BMC won the stage 1 TTT, putting Caruso, who crossed the line first, into Yellow.
This race continues our pattern of low scoring events after a fast start in the first three races. Once again, no one picked the top two podium finishers. purepasd, roturn and Freitas picked Thomas and get points for third place. Freitas claims the win having also correctly picked Caruso as the leader after stage 1. A gutsy pick rewarding this predictor! roturn and purepasd tie for second. No one else score any points.
Updated table:
| Name | Races Entered | Bonuses | Total Points | | df_Trek | 7 | 35 | 105 | | Aquarius97 | 7 | 35 | 90 | | Marcovdw | 7 | 15 | 65 | | Selwink | 7 | | 60 | | roturn | 7 | 10 | 60 | | purepasd | 7 | | 55 | | Raziz | 7 | 10 | 50 | | hillis91 | 7 | 10 | 50 | | AbhishekLFC | 7 | 10 | 50 | | FreitasPCM | 6 | 15 | 45 | | jandal7 | 7 | | 45 | | trekbmc | 4 | 10 | 40 | | United Forever | 4 | 10 | 40 | | Croatia14 | 7 | 25 | 30 | | emre99 | 2 | | 15 |
roturn moves up to joint 4th while purepasd too moves up a place to 5th. Freitas leaves the basement of the rankings to climb above four predictors, meaning Croatia once falls to be lowest among our regulars. dr_trek continues to lead from Aquarius despite three consecutive zero scores from both!
The races come thick and fast over the next few weeks, so make sure you don't miss anything...
