Didn't got much done the past few weeks...
I actually started playing a career, which takes a lot of time; btw. the PCM-Daily 2013 DB is great!
I took a shot at creating smaller circuits than the game forces you to.
First result is:
A real gpx fantasy stage.
Canyon Speedway Park
This one is a criterium (near Phoenix, Arizona) which appears to be 1,9 km long.
Each fourth lap ends a "real" lap, so the real circuit is 7,7 km in length.
The download of 1st edition is here, but be warned that this is a strange thing to play.
- I missed foresight and created just one in and out road, what leads to a "jump" by the cyclists every fourth lap. Whoever created a one-road-circuit knows what I mean...
- a just formed break starts overtaking right after it's away from the bunch
- the cars on the track doesn't let it look more realistic
Download: 2nd edition (without annoying jump)
More screens:
Another real-gpx-fantasy stage:
Schloss Karlsruhe (Prolog)
This one might lead to a small "Baden Tour" at some point in the far future. If someone wants a download, yet... just leave a note.
Vuelta al Tachira 2013
Stage 5 is done.
First half is newly made, second half is the known (from 2011 edition) climb to La Grita.
Cascade Cycling Classic
Stage 4 isn't finished, but well on it's way.

Fantastic stages, great ideas indeed
Though I haven't understood how you did the Canyon circuit? I mean, how the game accepted the 7-km circuit as a 7-km circuit instead of a 2km one

Thanks for the kind words, guys!

That's because it is a 7 km circuit.
Imagine it like a snake or a snail shell. There is a voie=3-road lying above itself (for four turns), all points with the same height and a slightly higher voie=4-road to cover the mess that lies underneath.

The Canyon Speedway stage looks different, but is there a lot of breaks lapping the peleton |

Just had two test runs and in both the early break could get an advantage of mere two minutes at best. This meant they're not getting the peleton lapped, but -weird enough- found themselves back in the middle of it (one lap in advance). |

Made a second version of the Canyon Speedway Park to get rid of the ugly "jump". Therefor a second road is added to the circuit what leads to minor changes in the appearance.
(four extra laps extend the race to 62,5 km)
Another download link is here (.zcts-file is added). There is still room for improvement, but am not sure if i'll revisit this race again... sorry for the inconvenience anyway. |

Back to Bend, Oregon...
Cascade Cycling Classic
Stage 4
Stage 5
...is a criterium in Bend
...which I tried to approach differently, by using many different cheats I learned/adopted this stagemaking season
More screens
It becomes a 3,5 km circuit (2 laps are one real lap) rode 20 times (10 real).
In the testdrives the break never get close enough to the bunch (as part of the stage race) nor any other technical blowback appears.
But I really appreciate further feedback. Stage can be changed into a standard 7 km criterium before releasing the whole tour, if anything strange (or even a gamekiller) is faced.
<<<DOWNLOAD: Bend Criterium>>>
Just the 5th stage of the cascade cycling classic. Other than the final stage here it's a classic finish and the intermediate sprints are removed. |

Very great stages, mate! I like the Phoenix Criterium, it's a very exciting race.
Can you make the Tour of Sibiu 2013? It's a 2.1 race in this year. Some infos, stage profiles and more here: https://www.ciclis...index2.php Thank you! |

The Bend criterium looks great. The city looks very nice (really like the building from the 1st screen in the spoiler) and the shorter distance resembles even more an inside city crit, going to give it a go later Nice job!

Thanks, bendzsi... but sorry... there are still eight stages on my to-do-list and my actual output is less than one per week.
Might consider doing Tour of Sibiu as a first stage race for the PCM2013 Edition, if it isn't done than.

Great job with the Cascade Cycling Tour, I mean Classic (well if the Tour of Delta can be a "classic", why not the opposite, right? )
Which remembers me that I forgot to post my tests with the Bend Crit Played it a couple of times, and the 'weirdest' things that I got were some graphics, such as double road crossings in the corners and in the road of the starting line. There were also some double fences on the corners at some points, but these are things that unless you're really paying attention you don't even notice, plus it doesn't really matter
Gameplay-wise, it was normal every time. The breakaway didn't get to the point of joining the peloton, probably because the stage is too short for such a gap to be allowed. The peloton did at some point or other catch riders who had fell or punctured, but they were quickly "swallowed up" so that wasn't really a problem either.
Lastly, I really like some of the 'tricks' you've used there. For example, the city not starting right on the borders of the roads, but a bit further. It improved the feeling of a downtown crit.
To sum up: couldn't notice any real problem, gameplay was fine and the stage looks great. Nice job again

Thats great to hear. Your feedback matches well with my own brief observations and is really appreciated. Thanks again! |
