@duckman

Not all. In Poland we will have PCM12 in polish version around next friday. And of course I will probably wait for DB so I'm going to buy PCM12 around middle July.

Ale, Vino ale!

Thanks

The DB is in the download section of PCM 11. It's the PCM Norway 2007 Db.

puceta
Yes, but the equipment isn't in the pcm norge database

It's not the PCMNorge 2007 DB. It's his own DB, with .cdb file and graphics being made by him, but he's using the PCMNorge DB stages (as he explains in post #20).

Stage 15 [IMG-r]https://i884.photobucket.com/albums/ac43/christian_gr/tour07/profil15.gif[/IMG-r]
Foix - Loudenvielle-Le Louron

196 km
Monday 23 July

i884.photobucket.com/albums/ac43/christian_gr/tour07/tittel15.png

After a difficult time trial and then a hard mountain-top finish atop Plateau de Beille, stage 15 from Foix to Loudenvielle-Le Louron was billed as the Queen Stage of the 2007 Tour de France. It included no fewer than five categorized mountain passes - including the Port de Balès (19.5 km at 6.2%), a first for the Tour. At the end, the riders faced 10 steep kilometres up to the Col de Peyresourde before the technical descent to Loudenvielle-Le Louron.

The tough stage provided another opportunity for the climbers to put time into race leader Alexandre Vinokourov (Astana). The stage also had plenty of points on offer for the King of the Mountains jersey.

Jérôme Pineau (Bouygues Télécom), who wore polkadots earlier in the race, managed to grab the points on top of the first climb to reclaim the jersey that Iban Mayo (Saunier Duval) has held since the Alps.

Pineau wasn't in the move that established today's breakaway though. Three strong climbers, Michael Rogers (T-Mobile), Juan Manuel Gárate (Quickstep - Innergetic) and Bernhard Kohl (Gerolsteiner) went clear in the early parts of the stage.

i884.photobucket.com/albums/ac43/christian_gr/tour07/15-3.png
The three escapees, Michael Rogers (T-Mobile), Bernhard Kohl (Gerolsteiner) and Juan Manuel Gárate (Quickstep - Innergetic).

Gárate was the best placed rider in the break, sitting in 18th overall this morning, 12 minutes down on Vinokourov. The Spaniard and his two companions went over the Port de Balès six minutes ahead of the peloton.

i884.photobucket.com/albums/ac43/christian_gr/tour07/15-4.png
The peloton split into several parts on the difficult last 10 kilometres of the Port de Balès, which averaged 8.5%.

The peloton gained a lot on the breakaway going down from the HC climb. 30 riders were left in the yellow jersey group as they began climbing the Col de Peyresourde, four minutes behind the break.

The first four kilometres of the Peyresourde went by without much happening, but then, as expected, the racing began in earnest, with the climbers desperate to make up time on Alexandre Vinokourov (Astana) in the Maillot Jaune.

i884.photobucket.com/albums/ac43/christian_gr/tour07/15-7.png
Nobody were surprised when the lanky figure of Michael Rasmussen (Rabobank) ignited the turbo on the Col de Peyresourde.

The Danish climber had six kilometres of uphill on which he could make a difference. Alberto Contador (Discovery) was quick to latch on to Rasmussen's wheel, but Vinokourov wasn't the only one in the group behind who was interested in keeping the Tour's two best climbers in check.

i884.photobucket.com/albums/ac43/christian_gr/tour07/15-10.png
Vinokourov found himself with an unexpected ally on the slopes of the Alps today, as Spain's Alejandro Valverde (Caisse d'Epargne) brought back the two attackers.

Only the most elite climbers were now still together around the yellow jersey. Meanwhile, a couple of minutes up the road, Juan Manuel Gárate (Quickstep - Innergetic) had decided to rid himself of his two breakaway companions.

i884.photobucket.com/albums/ac43/christian_gr/tour07/15-9.png
Gárate ascending the Col de Peyresourde alone, having dropped Michael Rogers (T-Mobile) and Bernhard Kohl (Gerolsteiner).

With Gárate's advantage dropping steadily, Rasmussen went for it again!

i884.photobucket.com/albums/ac43/christian_gr/tour07/15-11.png
Another kick from the Rabobank climber!

Again Alberto Contador (Discovery) managed to follow Rasmussen. This time they got clear! Vinokourov wasn't looking too good, despite having his teammate Andreas Klöden for company.

i884.photobucket.com/albums/ac43/christian_gr/tour07/15-13.png
The mountain goats left race leader Alexandre Vinokourov (Astana) on the final climb.

Behind Contador and Rasmussen, Alejandro Valverde (Caisse d'Epargne) and Kim Kirchen (T-Mobile) were the best of the rest, as they desperately tried to get across to the climber duo. As the top of the Peyresourde came closer, Contador and Rasmussen had the leader, Gárate, in their sights. As the Quickstep rider crested the summit, he was only just ahead of the chasers.

i884.photobucket.com/albums/ac43/christian_gr/tour07/15-16.png
Only a downhill separated Juan Manuel Gárate (Quickstep - Innergetic) from a great stage win, but the favourites were closing in fast.

Alexandre Vinokourov (Astana) didn't look good at all today, but together with the rest of the 2nd tier climbers, he was able to limit his losses as they approached the summit. Once again, Klöden was of great help to the Maillot Jaune.

i884.photobucket.com/albums/ac43/christian_gr/tour07/15-18.png
Vinokourov could see Contador and Rasmussen as they crossed the top of the Col de Peyresourde.

The yellow jersey group descended faster than Contador and Rasmussen, so despite having left everyone for dead on the ascent, they were caught on the descent towards Loudenvielle. Only Gárate was still ahead, but the exhausted escapee didn't have much left for the lumpy run-in.

i884.photobucket.com/albums/ac43/christian_gr/tour07/15-20.png
All together again, as the attack of Rasmussen and Contador was brought back by Vinokourov's group.

Having showed that he was much stronger than Vinokourov today, Rasmussen decided to try one last time. A short uphill section just before the finish was a good opportunity to gain at least a few seconds, and the Rabobank climber went for it again!

i884.photobucket.com/albums/ac43/christian_gr/tour07/15-21.png
Michael Rasmussen (Rabobank) with another attack, this time covered by Alberto Contador (Discovery) and Alejandro Valverde (Caisse d'Epargne).

Poor Gárate was a victim of this last incline, as he had nothing left in the tank to keep the rampaging Rasmussen at bay. With the finishing line in sight, the brave Spaniard saw the three attackers go straight past him.

i884.photobucket.com/albums/ac43/christian_gr/tour07/15-23.png
Rasmussen leading the last attack on Vinokourov as they pass Gárate. Contador and Valverde are lurking behind.

Nobody from the yellow jersey group could respond to this late attack, so the stage win would be between the three aggressors. And with Valverde in there, there was really no contest. The speedy Spaniard had no problems outsprinting Contador and Rasmussen. He grabbed the win in Loudenvielle on what was labeled as the Queen stage of the 2007 Tour de France!

i884.photobucket.com/albums/ac43/christian_gr/tour07/15-26.png
Alejandro Valverde (Caisse d'Epargne) making use of his most feared weapon: the sprint!

The last kilometre had been covered so quickly that the Valverde group got a gap on Vinokourov and the rest. Juan Manuel Gárate (Quickstep - Innergetic) got nothing out of his long attack, finishing 4th.

Despite clearly being the strongest rider today, Michael Rasmussen (Rabobank) wasn't rewarded accordingly. The time bonuses and the 28 second gap move the Dane within a minute of the race leader in the overall standings. But with only one mountain stage left, Alexandre Vinokourov (Astana) is still right where he wants to be: In the yellow jersey.

Spoiler
i884.photobucket.com/albums/ac43/christian_gr/tour07/15-1.png
The ever-aggressive Jérôme Pineau (Bouygues Télécom) reclaimed the polkadot jersey by winning the first mountain sprint. Iban Mayo (Saunier Duval), who had to relinquish his jersey to Pineau, had a truly bad day. The Spaniard finished behind the yellow jersey group at the end of the stage.

i884.photobucket.com/albums/ac43/christian_gr/tour07/15-2.png
Another tough day at the office for Vinokourov's Astana team, but the Kazakh kept the Maillot Jaune.

i884.photobucket.com/albums/ac43/christian_gr/tour07/15-6.png
Michael Rogers (T-Mobile) was the first to drop from the breakaway on the Col de Peyresourde. Bernhard Kohl (Gerolsteiner) followed shortly after, leaving only Juan Manuel Gárate (Quickstep - Innergetic) in front.

i884.photobucket.com/albums/ac43/christian_gr/tour07/15-8.png
Alberto Contador (Discovery) had another good day on the climbs, and reacted to everything Michael Rasmussen (Rabobank) threw at the favourites.

i884.photobucket.com/albums/ac43/christian_gr/tour07/15-12.png
Alejandro Valverde (Caisse d'Epargne) was strong on the Col de Peyresourde, and had enough left in the tank to sprint to the stage win.

i884.photobucket.com/albums/ac43/christian_gr/tour07/15-14.png
Any chances he might have had for a good placing overall disappeared today for Levi Leipheimer (Discovery). The Discovery captain has been disappointing this in this Tour de France. He reached the finishing town of Loudenvielle almost ten minutes behind stage winner Valverde.

Juan Manuel Gárate (Quickstep - Innergetic) close to the top of today's final climb. Unfortunately for the Belgian team, Gárate could stay away for the stage win.

i884.photobucket.com/albums/ac43/christian_gr/tour07/15-17.png
Alberto Contador (Discovery) leads Michael Rasmussen (Rabobank) over the Peyresourde, not long after Gárate. The order was the same across the line in Loudenvielle: Contador 2nd and Rasmussen 3rd. That was behind a different Spaniard though.

i884.photobucket.com/albums/ac43/christian_gr/tour07/15-22.png
Michael Rasmussen's third attack succeeded. Unfortunately for the Danish climber, the road didn't point upwards long enough for him to extend the gap by very much.

i884.photobucket.com/albums/ac43/christian_gr/tour07/15-25.png
This was only Valverde's second ever Tour de France stage win. For the first win he beat Lance Armstrong on Courchevel.

i884.photobucket.com/albums/ac43/christian_gr/tour07/15-27.png
Two beaten climbers cross the line in Loudenvielle. Both Alberto Contador (Discovery) and Michael Rasmussen (Rabobank) will probably try again tomorrow, when the race hits the Col d'Aubisque.

i884.photobucket.com/albums/ac43/christian_gr/tour07/15-28.png
Vinokourov's group finished 28 seconds down on Valverde, Contador and Rasmussen.

i884.photobucket.com/albums/ac43/christian_gr/tour07/15-29.png
Alejandro Valverde (Caisse d'Epargne) was unbeatable in the sprint.

Jérôme Pineau (Bouygues Télécom) is back in the polkadotted jersey! Is he now a candidate to win it?

Yeah, Squire is back!
It's nice to see that Rasmussen and Conta are getting back time on Vino. It'll be very tight from now on.

Beautiful shots, incredible!

Great to see a new report again Smile

Quite easy for Valverde in the sprint. The GC is now down to 3 riders, and since the current leader is the strongest on the TT but the other two seem to be stronger at the mountains, the Col d'Aubisque should be crazy Grin

Great to see this back again. Going to be an interesting battle between Vino, Rasmussen and Contador, though it's quite ironic that they've been linked to doping. Pfft

This one keeps to be exciting! Hope Rasmussen and COntador can crack Vino, to take some time before the last TT,

Col d'Aubisque will be very exciting with Rasmussen and Contador less then 1 minute down on Vinokourov!!

Can't wait for the next report!

This is set for a very close finish, hopefully they can get some time on Vino before the TT Smile
