The rare genuinely good TTT by Evonik. Here it pays off that we did focus on bringing a fairly good squad for this stage. Hopefully that will give Chiarello the push he needed for a good race!

Good positioning, good sprint by AKA. 2nd place is a great result. He just continues to flourish every stage, and I'm very thankful for it.
Nice to see Bewley take a win! Seemed like he recovered well despite the strange move he and his team made over the final cat 3.

Strong sprint by Hofstetter. Profitting from other riders' mistakes and a 3rd place is great!

Very solid showing by Chiarello. Once again in the fight for a top 10 position and not afraid to attack. Hope he can continue like that!

Won the must-win stage but still behind the schedule. Time to turn up the style in the ITT, Taylor!

Ack. Weird stuff for our team to be chasing so much early and throughout the stage. Then in the end Guldhammer is completely isolated with bad legs. He should be better than 16th here. Not to mention, it's crazy that we had no other guys in the top 50. Warbasse in 93rd is especially jarring.
Nevertheless, wildcard mean no points and no pressure. A bad day is a shame but doesn't cost us anything. Hopefully we're ready for a renewed attack going forward and can get some exciting results.
Congrats to Isostar and thanks for the report.

Really looking forward to this one, hopefully our pre-race-plan will work!
Getting the leader's jersey plan worked, but I was hoping for a victory during the team time trial and with that way more time advantage going in to the second half of the race. Taylor is terrible in time trials right?

Awesome riding from Rohendi! Happy he’s contributing well to Mapei

We sent a rider in the breakaway. That's as good as it gets I think. Clearly the weakest in the break though, which is unfortunate.
Koretzky and Giannoutsos fight for top 50 it seems. I guess I'll take those extra points if nothing else

Still a no-pointer here. Not that we expected anything else. Good thing Tour de Suisse was kind to us

Early TT so not much to comment about except congrats Phinney!
For Evonik, it's the focus on Chiarello here but i'd also like to see some break action going. Very little of that has been seen so far this season so its about time to see that.

Glad to see Conci doing pretty well for Puma! 14th at the moment in the GC is a very respectable effort from the young fella. Hopefully he can stay in the Top 15 as the final stage looks like it’ll present quite a challenge!

Amazing ride by Sulvaran! I've loved his aggression the last couple of years, and he really earned that PT XP today! A stage podium in any PT stage race, let alone Dauphine, is a special result for a rider like him. He does it wearing the Curacao national jersey that De Maar made famous for us. Given his skillset, I never expected him to be able to survive that well on a mountain top finish, but he paced himself very well and picked the right day to have good legs. Amazing result.
I consider it a good day for Guldhammer too. We're already out of the GC, so it was the right move to be aggressive and try to follow Tenorio, even if it was just for the screentime given the stage was out of the question. He faded, but I expected it. Warbasse, Aranburu, and Eg also finished in reasonable places this time, which is nice if only to show they can compete at this level.
Congrats to alex!

The AI is funny sometimes. It almost seems pre-destined whether your team wants to be there or not. We were all over the front in Suisse, here we won’t even try despite having nothing to lose.

Really cool day out for Stan, I’ve been so gutted how he’s changed to be worse and worse with the new games but today was a really cool ride by him to get a podium on the stage

Not the dominant ride and stage win we hoped for, but okay performance I guess.

Speaks for itself when Frison is the best placed rider of my team and only in top100...
Really awful performances here. Ciccone, Zardini and Denz all not doing anything and finishing in the gruppetto is pretty annoying when they are perfectly suited for joining those kind of breakaways, that win stages.
Without Olivier or even Carboni the expectations weren`t high, but the team really lowered them not only by one level. |
