Another very good stage for us in terms of scoring. With that stage out of the way, we might even hope to keep the jersey for a few more stages. Cool to see Larsen getting into the youth jersey as well.
Not a big season for him so far, but a nice win here. That was a brilliant attack by Aidan. Congrats, SotD!
Thanks for the report, LLS

Thanks for the reports!
The early days are the expected quiet days for me. S6 was always going to be the first stage with a chance of sth happening in the GC (outside of the low impact prologue) and with nothing else of big importance here, we have to remain patient and make sure that Taaramäe doesnt get caught in any splits. Everything else is just a bonus

Kastrantas on one of his great days, which shows after taking all KOM's aswell as fighting for 20th on the stage after being swept up quite some way from the line. Well done.
Unfortunately not enought KOM points for any points, but I can hope he will continue his efforts on the upcoming 2 stages, which could maybe see him high enough in the temporary KOM battle to actually get a point or 3.
So far this has been a nice race for us, with good solid attacks.
Puma doing everything right - and they sure aren't giving up the title challenge without a fight. When their subtop riders and domestiques keeps pushing for stagewins and great depth points Isostar really need their leaders to keep on winning.
It's a two way battle though, as no other team can even come close to them. I hope to be fighting for that final podium spot if Lecuisinier has a great Tour de France.

Another good stage in the books for us. Kragh even close to keeping the lead in the points competition. Cool to see him mixing it up with the sprinters. Lost Larsen's youth jersey, but more important to keep Kragh in the leaders jersey, so not a big worry.
Congrats to cio on the win!

A pity that De Kleijn isn't sprinting on those hillier sprint stages. Though Van Hooydonck doing well to go for the small KoM points resulting in the lead for a day, while Carboni is still doing fine gc wise. |

Woah, what a nice surprise. First win for Cav this season! The Manx Missile isn't quite ready for retirement just yet.

I'm not too unhappy about not having a single sprinter dominate all those flat stages. Could open up the points classification for Taaramae if things work out well on the later stages.
Looking forward to tomorrow, time to start the real battle

Not happy with not showing up here, not even for the break.

Tough loss there for Carboni when similar riders were in the first group. Was not expected on that profile.
Van Hooydonck making group 1 even more surprising then, collecting some more KoM but hard to challenge Zakarin really stat wise. Maybe he should have went back to support Carboni but him sitting in 7th GC until the mountains likely hindered him.
So, hopefully Carboni not stopping later on to ride for Van Hooydonck then. |

This Aidan Van Niekerk guy seems like a good rider. Hoping someone offers him a pro contract one day.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Aidan finally making Sotd happy?

Congrats SotD, maybe the training was worth it after all ^^... Can't say i'm unhappy for you after being so often on the wrong side of puncheurs behaviour in mountainous stage races!
Solid stage for Evonik. No time losses for Rein, Blums snatches up a couple of points as 5th and our top 3 riders were in the first group which could be nice for depth GC results / team classification.
It's also good that the overall gaps have not been too big since i dont want to see break wins on the mountain stages. With the top 99 inside of three minutes of the podium, we shouldnt see the peleton giving the break too much leash on the next stage at least.

And that ends our time in the leaders jersey! Not that far from being able to keep it though, so another good stage by Kragh. Unfortunately not the best cooperation in his group. That being said, it's been a great race for Kragh, so very, very happy with his performance.
Another nicely timed attack by Aidan. Congrats SotD!

Oh my lord - That was most unexpected! After such a poor season he really comes to life here with 2 stagewins and a temporary lead in both GC and U25. Oh boy!
I have said it before, but Aidan's stagewins are by far the most touching for me, as his development is very much an unreasonable project.
I wonder how we will play this one by now as Aidan in the lead was never in the plan. David de la Cruz is in a pretty solid position to fight for a GC top 10 which was our main aspiration here, but will that be sacrificed to keep Aidan in an impossible battle? It could well be...
Only time will tell I guess, and in case David de la Cruz does infact stay with Aidan and lose his chances for top 10 I guess he will have a shot at reclaiming some on the penultimate stage.
Thanks for the congrats guys!

I really don't want to start disliking Aidan
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

Ouch...3 climbers waiting for Van Hooydonck to "defend" his 7th in GC...losing 13min+ here.

That went so much better than anticipated. David de la Cruz punching well above his weight while not having to wait for Aidan, who obviously dropped the lead. Yet he kept the U25 lead and still 3rd in the points which jeeps a steady flow of points.
I hope de la Cruz Can have another good day so he actually lands a shot at the GC top 10. Would be amazing!

Weird stage. Obviously im happy with Taaramae getting 2nd and securing yellow for now with both top contenders spectacularly failing. Which now sets us up for a good scoring over the next days. Far too early to celebrate but Rein has a nice build in advantage for the MTT over Godoy, Carthy, etc so im optimistic
