Flat stages are not what we're here for, so nothing to react to there.
What we are here for however is another one of Arndt's signature overperformances, please!
The startlist is tough, but he's used to overcoming the odds and beating better guys.
Stüssi and Vasyliv can add some GC points too, and have us maybe in contention for the teams classification.
Alternatively, with our deep squad that's all 74+mo except for Madouas, the KoM jersey and a couple of shots at a stage win from a breakaway are also tasty goals here.
Helme could also end up well in the U25 competition, behind clear favorite Godoy of course. That very much depends on his role in the team though.

Best ride of the season so far for Dombrowski. Too bad he couldn't get the win and more of those bonus seconds aa they could end up deciding the race.
Congrats ember. |

Love it! Hopefully the Rein reign is just about to start. The pics suggest that the jury could have given a gap though
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Oh no, not a good stage for us at all. I hope that performance can be attributed to terrible daily form and that it's not a sign of things to come for Monsalve. Doesn't help that he has no help from Bonnin and Uwizeyimana either. They should both be doing better. Thankfully the passive racing means Monsalve didn't lose too much time, but yeah, not a great start to this race.
Nice to see that Taaramäe still got it, though! Congrats ember

Great stage for Kraftwerk.
Tartarinov had a strong ride in the break, hope this means he is targeting the KOM.
Nerz with a tenacious effort to hang with the big boys on that brutal climb and lucky to benefit from the jury not declaring a gap.
Kiserlovski and Maillet in the top 50 is good for depth chances and that puts us 5th on the team standings which is very encouraging.
Congrats to ember and thanks for another great report Nemo.

A brilliant ride from Nikias Arndt, exactly what I was hoping for!
Too bad that the top 3 got a little gap under the flamme rouge, otherwise that sprint would've been for the stage win.
A few of the dropped riders will certainly be out for revenge, but if we can really finish ahead of guys like Monsalve and Hirt in the GC, that would be amazing.
Looks like Stüssi protected him well and gave him that bit of extra energy to spare for the final attacks and the sprint, and Vasyliv rode a decent race himself.
4th in the teams classification is a start, let's see if we can improve further.
Sasu Helme had a brilliant first half of the race, exceeding my expectations at the first KoM sprint to win it, and then inexpicably turned into the worst climber left of that break when the chance to take the jersey approached at the second KoM...
Martin and Tatarinov, who made that final selection, are in no way better riders than Helme. He could've been there.
Still, that was a promising attempt and he does have 10 KoM points to build upon.
With the selection behind, he also got up to p3 in the U25, although that ranking will fluctuate a lot.

Fantastic!
Thank you for all congratulations! knockout must get a special mention, clearly being a big fanboy. Hopefully that makes Taaramäe even more motivated to do well
That win means quite a lot after a not so convincing start to the season from Taaramäe. Had even hoped for a gap there when I saw Dombrowski, Wellens and Taaramäe sprint for the win, but the most important thing was the win. Also the way he won it filled me with confidence, taking responsibility for the chase and putting the pressure on all the others. Hopefully he can keep doing that.
Also I'm kind of unsure what to expect now. Looking at the team's performance, we won't be able to chase down dangerous breakaways and such, as our depth isn't really there in this race. Fingers crossed we get some help, in that way, not getting a gap might be a good thing, as quite a lot of GC guys must still fancy their chances here thinking of the overall win and podium.
Thank you for the report, Nemolito. The finish and final kilometers was very, very tense! |

Hoping for a bit better from Quintana in the next mountain stages, but atleast he did enough to stay in the lead group today.

Good to see Dombrowski so agressive. Too bad he couldn't hold on to the lead and got beaten again by Taaramae. It seems to be a two way battle for yhe GC now and Dombrowski will definitely have to open up a gap to win it now.

Arndt is on a roll! This is even better than I was hoping for so far.
If stage 6 is going to keep things fairly together behind a breakaway win, it's only one stage left where he has dig in deep to defend this position. Come on!
Egger had an uneventful breakaway day, but at least he tried. Now, there's an extra bunch of great climbers a long way down in the GC, so stages 5 and 6 could be Stüssi or even Vasyliv material.
Although obviously, we need at least one of them to stay with Arndt, as the GC appears to be the clear focus for us here now.
Let's see if Nikias even gets involved in tomorrow's sprint!
Also I can't forget to send heartfelt congrats to ember for the results you've gotten here so far! You deserve them.

Solid again from Nesset. Liking it so far and would of course be great if he could join a break to perhaps contest for a stage win.
Exciting racing between the best! Looking forward to following the next mountain stages.
