Great to see Sinkeldam is still in your team. Could be very useful in the CT.

Please take every last penny from cio. He doesnt need a training budget.

Warbasse could be a very prominent rider this season in CT. And maybe JJ finds his footing again as well. Looking forward to some beer vs beer rivalry, although it's going to be a rather lopsided one Wink

Some interesting wages there. Id say this was a good job in renewals. now im curious to see the availability list to see who outside of VSB has to go

Availability post coming soon. Just have to look through the post-renewals DB first to finalize my plans. Based on my cap situation alone, at least two of my other "leaders" (i.e. non minimum wage guys/talents) will likely be leaving. Basically no one is off limits though; I've renewed most of these guys so I have some versatility in the market.

Despite relegation this seems like a good job in renewals indeed. Plenty of options to retool the squad for the upcoming season Smile

Thank you! Not everyone can stay obviously, but I think my current squad is versatile enough to give me a lot of options in transfers and still have a competitive CT squad.

whitejersey wrote:
A very versatile squad you have to work with despite relegation, unless some major transfer bombs get dropped you should be a top contender for promotion!

Thank you. That's the goal. Very early for promotion talks as we will see what the influx of talent in CT is like after transfers, but it is definitely the goal!

Thank you for the kind words, and thank you for helping Eg reach his potential! Always a pleasure having our guys develop with each other. I'm looking forward to seeing how he can do as well. Still just 25 too, so he'll score some points that way.

Objectively, you did a good job in this first restructure process, considering the circumstances, and have quite decent chances to emerge from transfer season as a favorite.

I am open to discussing anyone or anything that might be mutually beneficial during transfers, though there are of course certain arrangements that would be difficult to obtain. My availability post will elaborate more on this, so stay tuned. Wink

Sinkeldam did quite well for VSB last season, and I definitely see him as a key piece for us in CT. He's been a great value for us since you sent him over. I'm looking forward to seeing if his hill becomes more important with the lessening of cobbles difficulty as well.

Warbasse's success in PCT last season has made me cautiously optimistic that he can be a true leader in CT. The lack of a genuine stage race with mtns, hills, and TTs in CT will hurt him, as his versatility is his main advantage. Still, I hope he can perform, and he should have better climbers riding with him than ever before.

For JJ, the future is very uncertain, and we will see how the next few weeks develop. With the profile changes, I too wonder how he could perform as a CT leader, especially with his wage now so ridiculously low.

Looking forward to a friendly rivalry for sure!

If you keep a good core, you should be enough to bounce back at the first attempt. Removing the fine will be interesting transfer period for you though...

The fines were a very big risk for me, and I know it. I'm traditionally been a terrible seller, and so being forced to sell will likely not be great for me. I have to be all in and hope the market works in my favor.

I see you still have two Italians on your team... who would both fit my roster pretty well. Even as a bad seller, you might have a chance to get a decent deal with us Wink

I'm sure we will talk then this transfer season. Although I will admit that it is always more difficult to trade quality leaders to other teams in your own division, since it always hurts extra bad to get burned by them later on. Nevertheless, I'm always open to discussion. Wink

Yeah, of course I know you don't want to sell good riders to direct opponents... That's why I don't have too much hope, honestly. But talking alone costs nothing in the end Wink

Your relegation was a blow to Danish cycling, and obviously unfortunate for you as a manager. I'm sure we'll have a handful of discussions throughout the coming transfer period.

Carlsberg Transfer Availability 2020

This transfer season looks to be especially hectic in its early days for Carlsberg. The Danish/Curacaon team has relegated to CT due to poor performance last season, and this has forced them to contract their roster and payroll significantly. While some of that was done during renewals, the team is still over 500k over the wage cap, and thus will depend on selling several of their former leaders this upcoming transfer window.

As we do every year, we have compiled a list of potential availability for every rider currently under contract. This list has been created through paying attention to industry rumors, as well as using our sources with the teams and rider agents in order to gain a sense of who is likely to move.

As always, these assessments are describing the availability of the rider, not the chance they will end up sold. That is to say, the likelihood they will be sold given there is a worthwhile offer, not that they will be sold over the course of the window. This season in particular shows these determinations to be especially difficult. Certainly some riders listed as "likely" will not receive an offer, while those with lower designations could leave if proper value is offered. The team has a lot of flexibility, and perhaps no one but Vanspeybrouck is guaranteed to go. Their financial situation, however, displays that others will leave as well.

There are certainly some surprises in this chart. Garby is a name whose placement seems shocking, considering he was the team's first major talent and has been with them for 6 years. However, the coming of age of Eg and Fabbro, and Warbasse's prominence, have made the climbing depth crowded and his talents superfluous. Sources tell us that at least one if not both of Appollonio and Juul-Jensen will be sold, although their unexpected wage decreases have made the team consider keeping one of the two. Finally, it's also interesting to note that several of the team's young prospects could leave for the right offer, despite their years of development. Such a shakeup would be shocking, but doesn't seem off the table.

Additionally, for this season, we've also noted the riders who will likely be loaned out, if they remain with the team of course. On the left column are those who require a PT loan. In the center are riders who need a PT or PCT loan, and on the right are riders who do not necessarily need a PT or PCT loan, but could use one if there are suitors. Of course, financial boundaries such as the loan cap will come into play for these final riders.

PT LoanPT/PCT LoanPT/PCT Loan Possible

Asgreen Resell

With all that in mind, we asked team manager baseballlover312 for comment:

"Needless to say, we're in a tough spot right now. A lot of guys need to go, and it's always tough to balance loyalty and potential with finances and results. However, we're also in a time of opportunity. We have a lot of assets and a lot of different directions to go. I'm confident that we have the resources at hand to have a great team for next season. Ultimately though, that falls on me. I've made a lot of mistakes in the past, and others have paid the price. I will do whatever I can to put my team in the best position to succeed and get back to PCT."

One thing is certain. Carlsberg will be sellers during this transfer season, especially in the opening days. It's unclear if, when, and how they will approach adding assets throughout the period. Whatever happens, we'll be there to guide you through it the whole way.

Must say that's an interesting post considering potential moves, both regarding permanent deals and loan deals. We'll surely talk, after all we've also got Denmark as our secondary nationality for the first time ever, meaning it would be very wrong to not talk when transfer season opens up Smile

Now I think even more that we're going to talk Smile Of course, it's an "unlikely" rider that looks most appealing to me, but maybe we can still make it a good deal for you - maybe by including a "likely" one Wink

Seeing Garby in another team would be very strange Pfft Also I know it's a month old but your talents post shows a really cool and very strong young core coming through which is quite exciting - hopefully you can manoeuvre well in the upcoming window and get back to PCT so you can pay them all when they get to level 4 and max

Not sure we'll talk much in transfers (actually don't think we ever have Pfft) except possibly for one of your maybes who I got quite interested in on the FA market last year Pfft

It never hurts to start a conversation, even if the likelihood of a deal for the rider in question might be quite low. Wink

Garby will be incredibly difficult to see leave, even aside from the obvious sentimental reasons. The last few years have been difficult after I saw what he is capable of during the 2016 season. I think I just forced him into a PCT leader role that he's not suited for out of necessity. It's now especially difficult to see him go because we are back in CT and he could have legitimate success as a leader again. Ultimately though, I just have too many climbers/stage racers now, two of whom are younger and deserve their own chance. Having 4 legit 77+ climbers isn't realistic in CT for my team. I personally think Garby would be very valuable as a superdomestique in upper levels, and that's where I think he has his most worth.

Indeed, promoting is very important with these talents. Relegating with them unmaxed was difficult enough. Not all of them are world beaters who will demand large wage increases, but we really can't afford any increases on a CT budget. Getting back to PCT where we can keep our core in place is key to our success long term.

As for that one rider, maybe means maybe. Definitely shoot your shot if you're interested! Smile
