So we will get the most boring GT winner since Wiggins winning easily again?
I don't like Froome but at least he is 100000x more entertaining rider than Thomas. Hope he recovers for Vuelta, if not, he can still try Lombardia like Nibali did last year. But Froome's 1-day race pedigree is awful. But obviously that doesn't tell much about Sky riders.

Let see if Thomas will be ready like last year when Sky knew he needed an alternative...

Honestly, as much as I hate Froomebot, he's been the more exciting Sky rider the last couple of years compared to Thomas, as others have said.
Hopefully this just means Sky is more fallible in general and Thomas doesn't win again.

I don't see Froome injury as a main risk to see a boring Tour, maybe the opposite, with plenty of other riders more close to the top spot. Surely we wouldn't expect internal fight in Team Ineos betwwen Froome Thomas, so if he is out it's just a good thing for the entertaiment with a n Ineos much more weakened

Like if Thomas is leading it will be the same, if Bernal is leading it'll be the same. Race will be exciting depending on what other teams do not what INEOS will do. I'm saddened by it specially as Froome was looking good, and I can't imagine how it feels he spent all season working for his teammates and preparing for the Tour and see it blown like this, sport can be really unfair sometimes.

Could be a potentially career ending injury. He's 34 years old. Is he really going to get back to his top form to go for the Tour again at the age of 35+?

I was thinking the same, but we can't know...ok, he is not Valverde, but looking at Nibali is still possible for others, Froome is one year younger than him

Brailsford gave very strange comments regarding of Froome and his family. I hope it is not sth really serious . According to Dave he hit the wall while trying to wipe his nose. Wtf
Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the mouth.

Ineos are incredibly unlucky this year. They will nevertheless have the same posture - with or without Froome at the Tour - but this is not the way I wanted him to not step the top podium spot in this race. :/
Exactly. But think of Richie Porte when considering the luck
I think it is a rule that it must happen to every GC star at least once (Contador, Evans, more recently Dumoulin).
Actually two days ago I was thinking if the “Gods of cycling” would allow a Tour with Froome, Thomas and Bernal. Really weird and big coincidence. Hope Froome can return again in a good level...
Anyway, Van Aert is amazing, what is this Cancellara reencarnation. |

Thomas is the most crash prone rider I have ever seen, no way the Tour is already decided. Froome crash opened up the door in wide angle.
Too bad for the dawg, hope he recovers well and has no lasting injuries but I won't miss him ever. Any race without him and the Ineos domination is just that much better.

'I think in these types of situations it's what happens in the next hour and a half is crucial so we'll be on that.'
DB's chosen quite a way to put things if you ask me. |

Really happy for Wout, he deserved a WT win. Obviously not the best Dumoulin yet, but still, 47 seconds

Not even that, even after getting jury help back in Cali. Jeez.
