KBC De Panne Tour Discussion

Great ride by Flaksis, shame to not get the win in the end but Owen played it well. Congrats Podium Ambition!

Good racing by Zepuntke but a bitter taste because the gap between the group behind (and Vanspeybrouck) was nullified in the end. Would've been better had he gained some time on those lads.

Nice to see Røinås in the break. Some interesting gaps already, will be exciting to see how the race develops.

Maybe it's time to not put the big cobbled stage the first in the race?

That would've been a perfect stage, if not for that breakaway..

But really good work from Van Asbroeck and the rest of the team, so I'll take this over the shit we had in february.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

what a disaster, Petit and Gaudin getting dropped so early just completely ruined the race for us.

Nice to see giaux with a top 25, but it's really not what we're aiming for

I'm fricking done. I'm just done. I can't take this fricking shitshow anymore. I'm beyond words at this point. it makes no fricking sense how this keeps happening. It's unreal. It's like PCM is hardcoded against me. my guys have a -5 every fricking day or something. Unreal. Just kill me now before I'm forced to disband.

We have to do something. Anything.

bbl used moan and complain! It was very effective!

Bah, not another breakaway. No clue what my team was doing, but I hope we can get a working sprint train tomorrow and take a stage or the points jersey.

Awesome GC for both Podium Ambition and Minions.

Great bright spots in the sky for Carlsberg with that huge time gain by Vanspeybrouck. Funny thing is that the three riders that should fight for the GC win are terrible in a TT bike, so no favourite for the GC between Owen, Vanspeybrouck and Albert really Pfft

Well the TT is going to be a complete f*cking mess. Got to get through the sprint stage first, but the Leaders journey could give that little edge (well i've got to have some hope!). Darren looked good but like Thomas couldn't get an actual time gap. But he's well placed for the final TT, a discipline he can actually do. Thomas is in the mess of close matched riders.

Basically, survive the sprint, and hope we get a lucky dice roll for the ITT.

Two breakaway days have made for a very interesting race!

Before I say anything, I want to apologize for the immaturity I've been showing in these discussion threads lately. I'm an adult, and frankly even on an informal forum like this, I haven't been expressing myself in a suitable manner for civil discussion. It's a disservice to the people who have made this amazing game and those who report it terrifically (as tsmoha did today and has done for years) to make such juvenile comments as I made this morning, blaming the world for some happenstance in a video game. I apologize and hope you guys won't hold it against me in the future, as I try to be better going forward. Now, onto the race...

Well, well well. He FINALLY decides to show up to work.

I suppose complaining actually does get you somewhere, so Mom was lying to me my whole life! Honestly though, the AI was more bonkers than usual with the random late attacks, peloton complacency, and another breakaway win. I just got really lucky that it was on my side for once.

Vanspeybroeck with quite the attack there. The fact that they let him get over 2 minutes in under 8 km's is pretty crazy. The difference wasn't made on the cobbles at all; they just let him take all that time for whatever reason. At least he finally attacked. First time he's even shown his face really on my team. I guess putting a gun to his head in the team bus before the stage worked.

This is obviously more than I could have hoped for after stage 1, but it's about where I hoped to be after today before the race started. Now the problem for GC becomes the TT. I think it's really all going to come down to daily form. Obviously at only 11 km's the gaps won't be huge, so the small TT buffer for VSB on Albert along with 8 seconds might be enough. With Owen though, the pretty much equal TT stats mean that it should just go to whoever has the better legs on stage 4. At least with Flaksis a terrible TTist and everyone else at least a minute back, we should be able to secure a podium here, barring anything crazy happening on stage 3. That's more than I ever could have hoped for after almost having the race destroyed yesterday. If VSB is on good form though, is it possible he punctured on stage 1 to get dropped?

Not having the leader's jersey might at least help getting involved in the sprint tomorrow. Appo survived in the peloton today, which hopefully shows he's on great form and not that he'll be super tired because of it. Then the TT will decide it all.

Today showed me that this game and life can be brutal and generous. I'll hold my head up however it goes from now on. If CT is in the future, so be it. If a VSB win is in the future... please be it instead. Pfft

Edit: Also forgot to say - amazing ride by Lilholt! I knew he wasn't useless!

Not a great day for us here - but still not awful, hopefully Rowe can still top 10 but surely there's enough better TTists to make that unlikely. Shame to see CNC and Schreurs dropped as well, the latter at least still top 15 Sad

Saya has been riding well so far! Shiki lost lots of time on stage 1, not sure why he lost 13mins but Saya can still manage a decent GC result for us, and as a discipline we wouldn't have scored at all on in the past, Im atleast happy with this so far!

Two riders in the top four of the GC. In a cobblestone race. Am I dreaming?

Wow, amazing ride by Lilholt! Super happy with a 2nd place on a stage like that, in the kind of race that we wanted to do good in.

Am I the only one who can't read this without hearing the metal gear sound effect?

The first 2 stages have both gone well for us so far. I wasn't sure whether Olman or Chavanne would survive long enough to reach the TT or not but they are doing well so far.

I can't see them missing out on the time cut with there being no cobbles on the remaining stage before the TT so hopefully they can both use it to recover before going for the stage win.

If Doull has a good TT then this will end up being a very good result for us and more than worth the trip, at worst he will be top 20 and at best he might be able to sneak a top 10 with a +5 day and I'd like to think both Cancellara and Veelers will add depth points by maintaining their positions in the top 25.

Congrats to Lierse there, great leadout work. Glad to see this one not go to the break, but although there were two good sprinters ahead I would have hoped Rowe could have snagged a stage win there. Also then would have got points classification win. Hope he can hold onto his GC spot more or less tomorrow and the weight is toward PRL! Schreurs staying in the points would be nice too, should be able to do top30 even with 61PRL. He will drop a bit though but with young rider and GC he should come up with 4 or 5 points.

And the season is now well underway for us. Superb leadout, no idea we could cause that much damage. I'm so glad to see that sprint train work, I'm not even going to be angry about that gap (and to be honest, I've seen bigger gaps not given).

If we hold on to that top 10 GC and the points jersey, this will be an excellent race for us!
