Had hoped to take the U25 lead, but another good result from Kragh Andersen. Not eepecially good from Bakelants, but don't think those few seconds will turn out to be very important. Looking forward to the hilly stuff now!

Not much to see here, but I'll take anything from Beltran, and only loosing 9 seconds to the stage winner and almost getting inside the best third in a prologue is encouraging!

Just a quick question, does PCM automatically give the "win" to the first rider to reach a time (in this case Vlatos). Just noticed the list was sorted after when they crossed the line, someone might be able to check if this happens every time?

Nice Prologue for Kono, really promising for Jelajah to see him 10th in a PT prologue! LNH wasn't quite as good, he's been bit of a disappointment so far, but it's PT and I'm not too worried and 11th isn't bad. From here I really want to see aggressive racing, breakaways and maybe a stage win from Kwiat or Vantomme, they are strong enough, maybe even for a strong GC result for Kwitek!
Very cool btw to learn that this is Rabottini's local race from the preview, hopefully he gets the chance to achieve something special with his family on the side of the road!

In the past later riders getting s.t. have gotten the better stageresult, so I would be surprised if this was the case here.
I believe PCM calculates miliseconds too..

PCM does calculate miliseconds and sometimes the positions shown during the race change on the final result sheet, in case of ties.

All about Sagan from my point of view - the prologue as bad as expected. My hope is he can try to go after a stage win and finish in top 5. I see some nice stages where he can use his DH stat...
Prologue as bad as expected. And Festina quietly already having a nice race.

It was needed after a subpar Qatar and Badaling, and an absolute no-show in the TTT

Nice start from Sagan, finishing around the position that was our optimistic expectation - now just please keep this place in top 5 with some other decent stage results, come on!

Tsssss. Okay. Bobridge sucks in the first key stage and we really can't afford him to perform like that. This was always going to be a long season, but it's still feels like my riders hardy overperform and rather tend to disappoint. That's a truly bad day and I fear Bobridge won't be recognized a favorite from now on. I hate him right now

Wow, I like this new Beltran 
That was crazy strong by him, first catching the elite group going solo and gapping Bobridge, and then being among the strongest on the short wall to the finish line. That's promising for what's to come this season!
Also rather huge gaps behind the top 10, which makes me hopeful of a good GC here as well, which would be a nice surprise.
Impressive stuff by TvG, congratulations, Heine! And he surely needs to deliver if T-Mobile is ever going to challenge Moser for that top spot on the Pro Tour ranking come October.
And now it's over to Ciolek, which I'm very excited to see in action here, as I expect to see us do a leadout, hopefully proving something for all the money we invested in a train this transfer season. It would be great if we can get some kind of momentum going now, with Beltran doing such a great stage. A proper leadout and a sprint win on stage 3 would only be a logical follow-up, right? |

That was... well, magnificent. Awesome sprint by Boswell and it looks like the top 10 is on the books now as I think even a top 5 is too much of a stretch even though he is third right now
Also, since I have both Lammertink brothers in the race, it would have been nice to be mentioned which one of them was in the breakaway. I got excited at first only to realize it was Steven

While gaining on Bobridge and Kelderman it's still disappointing to lose on Beltran or even more Boswell.
In especially with Gallopin being a great support late in the race.
Hopefully De Bie a bit stronger on the other hill stages beating those. |

Not what we hoped for, but okay. Gained some important time on some of the other top guys, but looked very passive in the end from Bakelants. So with a bad first day and an ordinary second stage, I hope he's saved up his best legs for the coming days.
Decent rides by Raileanu and Vink as well. Hope they'll keep that up, especially Raileanu, who sits nicely in the U25.

I would have liked to see van der Hugenhaben in the group ahead of the one he was in, but I don't know what effect it had that we were active for Vlatos instead of just protecting him. Maybe he can do a bit better later on. Stage 5 and 6 looks much better for him. Top 15 will be difficult, but top 20 is still the goal.
Now to see what Tzortzakis can do in his last season at a high level. A top 5 is obviously the goal, but top 3 might be doable on a good day.
