Here we go again...
The debut of the team in the PT does not look very promising, Vogt should not be able to follow the best until the end so I'm not expecting much in this first race..
I'll be happy if someone from the team is able to join the break and if by a small miracle we can finish in the top20.
I think it will be this year that EBH will finally achieve victory in this race and after 8 attempts can get his name on the list of winners.

Disappointment season starting early for Waeytens. Can't even remember why I asked a wildcard here, but I guess it shows our ambition to start in the Pro Tour?
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Top 10 will not be easy for Boswell, but it wasn't last year either

If Haugard Jensen can repeat last years 15th place here I will be happy, but that might be a bit ambitios , other then him hopefully Wellens get score a few pts.
Time for EBH to show his strenght in PT! |

With our loaned-out rider Venturini debuting for Desigual, WCC must be one of a small handful of teams with direct representation in all 3 opening day races across the divisions! .
Good luck to all PT managers for the long season ahead. Expecting plenty of tight battles whether it be contesting for the title, a top 10 in the standings, or battling to avoid the relegation positions.

I can't remember the last time my team has been among the top favourites for a hilly classic (in PT). It feels great. Will be fun to see all the new jerseys! |

Excited to start the new season!
I used to expect top 5's from Ginanni in races like this, but he declined and the competition grew stronger. So I'm happy with a top 10. Hopefully our depth can compensate for this.

This will be a long and hard season for the team ..
How is it possible not to put a single rider in the top50. I was not expecting anything extraordinary but this is too bad.
Congrats SN, Nice way to Star the season, and thanks for the report

Well, why did not we get in that break, Haugaard Jensen at 89th place hopefully we will try to be more aggressive in the other hilly races or atleast better results...
Congrats SN!
@fintas well, it was hard even getting a rider in top 100
Thanks for starting the PT season Tamijo! |

Now that's an upset! Brave riding from Godoy and he deserved it in the end as none of the favourites wanted to go all out. Congrats, SN
Ponzi always looked the strongest on the final kilometer, so happy to see Bakelants just managing to get the 3rd place. Another brilliant result for him in this race and we can't really expect more when the race turned out so non-selective.
Good to see our boys at the front working and also get two additional riders in the top 40.
Thanks for the report, Tamijo!

Great 2nd from Ponzi here. He seemed the strongest!
Congratz SN. Big win that!

That was underwhelming at best Both race wise and team wise, with Beltran in 26th and Vakoc outside the top 40. Though, that sprint were always going to be a lottery behind the top 10ish riders, and unfortunately we didn't pick the lucky number this time.
Huge upset and result for SN, congratulations! But also quite a result for UBS and Buschwackers. And who knows, that could be key when the season end comes and the points are counted to avoid relegation.
Over to Qatar then, where the racing and AI hopefully is considerably better than here |

Well, looks like Vesuvio won't finish behind us as predicted after all. Congrats SN, and Godoy will only get even better with time. Enjoy that renewal talk though, lucky bastard.
It's great to be back racing, but PCM 15 really seems to be only the least awful of the options that we have on offer.
We didn't get as lucky with positioning as before and as it honestly looked like on the climb with at least three Puma riders up there, and I wish I knew what the hell went on with Kelderman yet again, seemingly out of energy or disinterested before a late attempt at sprinting after all. One place ahead of 70 hill McCutcheon, what the f.
15th is disappointing for him, in particular from his position in the slipstream, but yet again we have Nikias Arndt salvaging a race for us, basically switching his expected finishing position with Kelderman's. He looked even better under the kite, but the slope got to him in the end.
In combination, it's a decent 100 points over the minimum amount. Nothing to write home about, and I wish we had at least tried (and had been able to send Demare), but we've had worse days.
Thanks tamijo for an enjoyable report despite the racing!

Disappointing racing, good Evonik result with a 5th place for Skujins and solid depth from Smirnovs and Vosekalns finishing 27th/30th, some really random riders near the front like Ticona or Laas in the lottery sprint.
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

4th, 23rd and 24th are good results for us, but honestly to see a breakaway win like this is a disappointing outcome of the race. At the minimum the race needs an update of the profile. This race does not really have a good AI year after year.
But anyway, huge congrats to Vesuvio. What a lucky and nice start of their season!

Thanks for the report!
Disappointed with the race itself and also our result though. Had minor hopes for something notable from Watson or Morton... Obviously a great win for EA, but you just don't want such a win in an opener to the season. Congrats anyway. Qatar will hopefully go better for Bennelong.
