Well, no matter how charming these wins are I do feel they are fucking up the fun. A similar thing happened earlier this season from a Movistar rider. I accept that this is what happens - in stage races. Not in the biggest classic races.
For us, the race was about as good as expected. I had hoped for Spilak to get top 3 atleast coming here with a win goal, however Koretzky did amazingly well to get 9th here after getting 11th in Fleche Wallonne. So having two riders in the top 10 I have to feel content. This is, however, the main difference between this season and the last, where Spilak got 2nd in all of these ardennes while my backup riders also did reasonably well.
Congrats for the fluke win, and BPost seems to be well out of the relegation battle after also having quite a bit of luck in the Giro.

Congrats CountArach! Love to see a break win, although it's a bit of a shame to see it in LBL in particular, but still fun. Thanks for the nice report too sgdanny
Now we just need a weird finish to Kenya to round off a strange MG day altogether.

I know i should be super amazed by Skujins who once again delivered big time and makes me even more curious for the next ranking update but atm I'm just annoyed at the break victory. Particularly because it stole Skujins important ranking points. At least the usual suspects are all right behind without the biggest surprises in the places 2-10.
However, I have to be more than glad about the Ardennes week. Skujins has performed excellent with a fourth, a ninth and a third place iirc and it seems as if the training certainly paid off!
Fact of the days: This was the 5th monument for Evonik and we have podiumed all of them with 4 different riders. Sounds good.
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Rubbish from Ponzi. Not making the top 5 in 2 of these classics is not good enough considering what we paid for him. Down we go... |

Ouch, bad timing to have your first weak performance of the season Ginanni.
Career defining win there by Fritsch.
