4th is less than expected but not too important. A good GC should still see Keizer being more attentive in the stages.
I hope to reach the top10 as next to Keizer, Olivier will be his great support.
Winning the final mountain ITT would be nice as well of course but I fear the 85 climbers will do better there.
Also nice to see Groenewegen will get a chance here as the top sprinters aren`t here. |

Well, three stage wins probably would have been too crazy today.
Durbridge slowly becomes very annoying. Can't remember any special result since being maxed.. at least Li had a result though.

Not a great start from Gesink, but not a bad one either. Now, to avoid trouble in the next two stages before grabbing the yellow jersey at the end of stage 4.

Lassie is coming home to roost for me here - another very decent short chrono from him and unlike Ford he aint a one trick pony, a shame that the two ahead of him are also youths, but still I am pleased with his and MM's showing over in Italy. More unexpected points really sticking it up the Jacksie of all those relegation predictors
If we can get some good podiums on the sprint stages it will be job done for Paris Nice.

It's not often you see three U25 riders taking the top spots in all GC's at PT level. That will give some very nice points for those three teams for sure.
Very underwhelming performance by Coquard who had every chance to position himself in the top 10. Nice performance by Bernaudeau though. Lecuisinier didn't have the best day, but to be honest I don't think it matters. There are plenty of mountains to make this GC be about other things than a few odd seconds.
I really do hope Coquard have a better day for stage 2, as I really would love to see him perform in a sprint.

It could have been worse, I guess. Now it´s all about surviving without any time loss in upcoming 3 stages for me.
Thanks for steady and fast reporting sgdanny!

Decent start by Amador in the TT. Hopefully here we can show we can still go head to head in the PT, my expectation is a top 5 out of this one!

Chavanne
So close to a stage win but second is awesome and should already net him more points than many other unmaxed loanees.
Hansen with another brilliant performance for his new team. I hate that I have to ride against him now
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Three riders amongst the top 15 in the TT, I'll take that. Now let's hope for some breaks.

2nd and 22nd in a PT stage isn't exactly bad for a CT team is it
Got to love how my loaned out riders have started this race, just a shame that Chavanne couldn't get that 1 extra second to get the stage win but to be that close whilst still unmaxed is crazy, he'll be a great addition when he returns to me next season.

That's a very strong field indeed! But still, a rider of Madrazo's calibre should always challenge for the win and end up on the podium at the very least. Looking forward to his first race in our colours.

This is a depressingly strong field here, hoping Rein can upset some on the mountains

Anonymous prologue, just as expected, eventhough I'm happy with 26th for Stake Laengen. If this means he will try to ride for a decent GC placing, I'll happily take it. Maybe he can make the top 20 if he's lucky on the way to Nice.
Congratulations on the win, CrueTrue! Cool to see the Frenchman you've had since he was at 1.0 claim the win on home soil. With such a short prologue, it's always going to be a bit of a lottery.
Looking forward for the sprint stage and if any sprinter can take yello from Viennet. Even SHE has a tiny, tiny chance, as a top 2 could do. More realistically, a top 5 will be a good result, and a top 10 an okay result. |

Fraile with a disappointing ride in first chance to show off his maxed stats.
Will be interesting to see how Abal does in his return to the team. Don't expect a lot with a bunch of big guns here, but a Top 10 would be nice.

Not a good prologue for Metinvest with Grabovski coming in as 25th, but our TT core went to Italy. Decent ride from Karnulin and his quest for top15 though.
So we are already thinking about 2nd stage, where hopefully Guardini can challenge for top5 in the sprint, fingers crossed.
Thanks for the report and congrats CT!

No excuse for that crap sprint. In especially from that perfect position. Was hoping to beat Andy Schleck on a flat finish to be honest.
Now hoping for a better next stage. |

Huzzah! One more win this season already compared to last time we were in PT! I'm not sure we can follow it up in the next stage, but I'll take this win, which will be a huge help to us.
Thanks for the report.
