Great ride by Gusev, getting back to the front group after a puncture that late into the race is pretty good, strange ride by Team BPost, Red Bull - Huawei and Project 1t4i, does the AI know this race has multiple stages?

Yeah, it almost seems like AI is seeing that as three classics.

Hahaha holy shit. This season is going to be mental if I can do that in every cobbled race. I'm seriously excited.

God knows what was going on there. Net winners in terms of PT teams are Vesuvio - who are basically shyte at cobbles but somehow are likely to score well here because one of their guys got away.
I was lucky too as my only 4 riders who are any good at all at cobbles (and frankly bar Cancellara they are pretty ordinary) will all likely finish in the top 25 now. Who knows another crazy selection on stage two could see an even better result too for me.
The AI was wierd though and I cannot really celebrate the crazyness - possibly back to the drawing board with this. Stage race with cobbles is always a difficult one for pcm it seems. Sometimes we get something that works sometimes we get disappointing AI.
Crazy crazy race with a likely wildcard winner!

Obviously not what I hoped for from Kristoff on the cobbles, and seriously disapointing to not see him, Breen or Ringheim in the 52 riders group when it split. But we needed luck with that AI gameplay. And at least Kristoff won the sprint for 33rd! Got to focus on the one positive thing!
But yeah, it's fair to say that AI truly screwed up there, just wow. Which is a shame for almost all cobblers. I'm wondering if that is due to the TTT being at the end, which could see some teams have their TT rider(s) picked as captains, and thus give this weird gameplay. I really have no clue, but in hindsight it could maybe have worked better having the TTT as the first stage?
I guess it's a good thing for Vesuvio-Accumalux thinking only points wise, but I'm pretty sure this wasn't what SN hoped for when he made this a stage race in the calendar.
But big congratulations to both Bpost and Azteca, no stopping Summerhill and Vanspeybrouck, which was at least good to see. Taking the TTT into consideration, I fancy the latter for the overall, but clearly anything can happen on stage 2 as well!
Thanks for the report SN/roturn. And I'm still looking a lot forward to the two final stages. It's still cobbles, we still got a leader for them now, and that TTT will just be fascinating to watch

Wow
And people were saying that PCM 14 is better than PCM 13
Congrats to Kentaurus for a brilliant win

Vanbilsen 70th, awesome.
I had a feeling Bpost or Azteca would smash, and here you go

Petit did better than I expected, Gaudin and Martinez worse. We should outscore a few teams still though |

That game truly sucks. How the hell Cyanide are able to create a bigger and bigger shit year after year, I don't know. In the past editions riders actually at least wanted to ride for a GC result...

Well, to be fair.
Cyanide is not making a game without any human control.
That said, it should neither work like this stage anyway. Those giving up for potential 5th place and still having chances in GC but then slow down completely is awful. |

WTF. Seriously. WTF.
Where was my team? Not a single mention in the report and Altur finishes 111th. Hugely disappointing considering we have riders capable of finishing in the lead group, but apparently none of them wanted to exert any effort to do so.
Very long season ahead if this is the trend.

Dont worry, PCM15 will be much much better.
I tried countless times to warn about PCM13 and PCM14 and its complete lack of suitability for the man-game. This is what we get for not being willing to listen.
Those two editions are all about human vs. AI, so when there is no human to control things, game collapses.

And yeah, when there is no human to control the race, the game collapses like Badaling or this stage |

Well there are other races, where it proves to be able to handle AI alone.
Tachira or Benelux are good examples I guess.
This race here is just too much for PCM it seems.
Imo PCM14 is still doing better than PCM13 as it added some better AI decisions for co-leaders for example and backup stats seem to work better. In especially as resistance wasn`t working at all in PCM13. |

In all fairness, like roturn said the game's not meant for this type of racing. Of course, this doesn't excuse it, because games like FIFA could run perfectly without human control.
Still, you can't underestimate programming this. There are 180 riders that have to make decisions constantly, keeping in mind GC, stage win, KoM and whatnot.
And also, don't know if that has any influence or not, but there are not many cobbled stage races as it is so the gameplay is less adapted to these stages than for example mountain stages AI compared to GC chances. |
