Gratz FroomeDog. Given the popularity of Kwiatek I'd imagine a bitter fight about him but you did it in an confident way.
Cheers. Was initially thinking of going straight in and bidding 400k, after planning for him costing +500K, so it really surprised me. That combined with getting Impey has made this a great transfers so far for us. |

Yeah I reckon so.
300,000 is a very fair price. Only natural you're quite happy about that |

Impey Joins Kenya Airways
Daryl Impey | Fee: € 1,500,000 | Wage: € 240,000 | 80 Sp, 81 Acc, 73 Hill |
We are very happy to confirm that we have secured another big-name rider for the season - after Kwiatkowski yesterday, we have now managed to sign South African Daryl Impey! Arriving from Aker-MOT for a big fee of 1,500,000 euros, we hope he will be a huge rider for us in sprints over the course of the year.
Daryl is not only a great sprinter, and in fact you could say his best quality is the ability he has to get over the hills. This sets him apart from many other big name sprinters who may struggle to hang on when the road gets hilly. Despite this, he still has the raw speed at the end to compete with the fastest which makes him a major threat in many rolling stages across the calendar.
After spending a few great years at Norwegian team Aker in the PT, he is very happy to be joining a team from his home continent, where he will hope to continue his success in a very competitive PCT division. As a result, we are really looking forward to see what he can achieve for us. |

Fantastic. The official report of Impey arriving
His combination of sprinting and uphill riding should result in a few victories this season!
You may say it's a step down from PT, but he's coming home a bit and he'll enjoy some good support to battle for some nice victories, I'm sure!
Not all too familiar with the ManGame calendar yet but I hope I don't run into you too much. Although a Impey-Richeze sprint would be great to witness |

No problems here with him taking a step down
Hoping he can do really well, especially with some big sprinters leaving the division. He might encounter some problems with Demare though, so I look forward to a healthy rivalry between the two.
Richeze is a great rider for you, should get many wins in the CT. I don't think he'll meet Impey much as he'll probably race a lot of HC races but they could meet in the odd C1 race I guess. Hope he goes well for you nevertheless. |

Yay! So happy to have seen this deal take place. Of course I'd like to get Impey myself, but just can't do it this season. Maybe in seasons to come.
He should be a beast at PCT level. I trust he'll come head to head with Hoffman a few times - especially at Tour of SA. Won't be surprised if Impey takes you into the Top 10 of PCT.

You can have him in 3 years when he's declined
Thanks, hoping he'll go really well. Not sorted out his calendar yet but ToSA is a must for him I guess. Top 10 in the standings is the goal as well, hoping I've made the correct signings to get us there.

Another Leader Secured - Bookwalter Signs
Brent Bookwalter | Wage: € 150,000 | 79 TT, 72 Hill, 72 Mo |
Coming into transfers, one of our priorities was strengthening in the time-trial department of the team. Over the course of the last few days we tried to sign a few riders, before deciding to put a bid on Brent Bookwalter. Thankfully we were able to sign him, and for the not too expensive wage of 150,000 euros which we are extremely happy with.
Along with being very strong against the clock, Brent can also climb well on hills and mountains, making him a good domestique when off the TT bike. This ability could also come in handy in numerous stage races this year where there is an uphill stage in a stage race with a TT.
After being released by PT champions Wikipedia, who have now folded, Brent is happy to be joining us and we hope he can have a successful time here. |

2 More Riders In, 5 Leave
Maciej Bodnar | Fee: € 200,000 | Wage: € 50,000 | 77 TT, 74 FL |
Arriving from PT squad Red Bull - Huawei for 200,000 euros, Maciej Bodnar will provide us with another strong TT option, for TTT's and in general races involving time-trialling. When not racing in those, his ability on the flat makes him a useful leadout for newly arrived sprinter Daryl Impey. He is also Polish and will therefore be able to provide Kwiatkowski with some company.
Pirmin Lang | Fee: € 120,000 | Wage: € 55,000 | Sp 75, Hill 70 |
Another European import to the team, Swiss rider Pirmin Lang joins the team from Team Vontobel for a fee of 120,000 euros. His primary purpose will be leading out Impey, with his ability in sprints and the fact he is also good on the hilly stuff.
Leaving the team are five riders. 3 of them go on loan to the PT to develop, while 2 leave permanently. Zakayo Ndbri leaves after 2 seasons with the team, to lead a CT again team before his career ends. We would like to thank him for his services over the past 2 seasons. Johann van Zyl also leaves the team for RBC Pro Cycling as his cobbled talents were never going to fit with the team's focus.
Rider | Fee | Team | Tsgabu Grmay | Loan | Festina-Canal+ | Estifanos Kebede | Loan | Bouygues Telecom | Mujtaba Hussein | Loan | Vesuvio - Accumalux | Zakayo Ndbri | € 160,000 | Fred Whitton Race Team | Johann van Zyl | € 100,000 | RBC Pro Cycling |

You've done a nice job at boosting your TT strength with Bodnar and Bookwalter! Interesting to see how well Bookwalter can hold on in the hills in PCT for the TT-friendly stage races.

Gratz on signing Lang, will definitely kep an eye on how he is doing for you.
Last season he performed well in warm conditions, he had outstanding races in Portugal (Algarve, Onda-Boavista).

Thanks! With riders coming in for less than we had planned we were able to splash out on a couple of quality riders for time trials which we didn't envisage.
Currently wondering whether it'll even be worth entering races such as Ukraine with tough hilly stages. With such a wide variety of leaders, it is tough getting it down to 140 race days.

Thanks for selling him. Should provide ideal support for Impey, and may also get the chance to ride for himself in places. Hopefully he proves to be a good addition. |

Definate big improvers here - we saw how well MvStayen did last year and Impey who's storied career included a short stay at the Red Bull franchise. A good rider with a chance of some real success.
Opening up to Eastern Europeans has helped you step forward - ahead of Jaguar - lets hope so. Guys finishing ahead of SN tend to get up, would love to see you join big time.

I didn't like Kwiatkowski (favorite rider) coming to an African team, but with the signing of Bodnar it has helped a little... still crying a bit
Hope he will make some great results and the move was always gonna be smart in other ways, as you have 3 polish teams, that might offer around a 1 million some seasons later ;D

Van Stayen was indeed a great success last season - I'm trying to copy some of his last season with Impey, seeing as they're so similar.
Don't know about promotion, that definitely wasn't ever the plan. I guess it largely depends on how strong the other teams near the top of the division are, although we are a lot stronger than we expected. |

Why didn't you sign him then? I wouldn't have gone any higher than 350k, which is well inside a CT team's budget. Although your team would have been a bit one-dimensional.
I'm afraid he's also one of my favourites and therefore I'm unlikely to let him leave anytime soon. You can of course try though. |

Jörgen Matt | Wage: € 25,000 | 68 Hill, 70 Fighter |
Coming in from Bouygues Telecom on loan, Jörgen will spend the year gathering experience as a workhorse of the team. Many races will be spent carrying water, in pursuit of improving his abilities. As a part of the same deal, Kebede goes on loan to the PT with the same ambition of developing.
So, with transfers well underway now and plenty of riders in our team has began to take shape. Here is how it is currently looking, discounting riders not currently confirmed to the team yet.

Hussein Manfred | Wage: € 50,000 | 69 Mo, 68 Hill |
Released by Eritel-Sonatrach before transfers, Hussein is a young Kenyan climber who has the potential to progress into a great rider on the mountains for us. Long-term we see him as a replacement for the outgoing Ndbri, and therefore we are happy to have signed him to add to the Kenyan part of the team.
Marco Marcato | Wage: € 80,000 | 75 Sp, 73 Hill, 73 Cob |
After signing Impey we realised we needed to look for a proper leadout for him. After looking for riders for a bit we finally came to Marco, who provides a great combination of sprint and hilly ability to be perfect for this role. The Italian is also not too bad on the cobbles and will therefore get a shot at leading for a couple of cobbled races that will be on our calendar.
Those riders joining means our squad is complete. The only deal that could happen is maybe loaning Kiprotich out, but that doesn't seem too likely at the moment. Therefore, here is the team for 2015. Fun fact - no rider has below 68 in hill stat. Gives you a bit of a hint to the main basis of the team's calendar in 2015.
