I swear to bloody god, that this year's peloton will look like it's a bloody funeral. Every single equipment is black. Even Bretagne, who equipment was white, announced they're new equipment for 2015. Color? Black.
Oh not another one...
So we now have afaik Sky, Trek, Giant, Garmin-Cannondale or whatever its called, Bretagne, Bora, Colombia, Cult, MTN, and now Bretagne whose predominant jersey colour is black. Plus IAM which is a very dark blue. That could easily be more than half the peloton in a PCT race or even a WT race (with the right wildcards) all in black
German TV channel ARD apparently has signed a 2 year contract for live broadcast of the Tour de France.
So for the first time since 2011 and the exit due to doping issues, there will be free TV coverage again.
While this is obviously making the sport a bit more popular in general, most of us have watched it on Eurosport already.
Am interested about their coverage though as I can imagine to hear the word doping a lot of times.
They have never been particularly good in their coverage but I welcome the step nonetheless.
ARD pays only 5 million for tv coverage though wtf ASO must have been desperate to get ARD back on board.
Also, a "no doping clause" in the contract. So, one doping case and they can terminate it. Reasonable? Probably. But also hypocritical? Yeah. Because they don't want a clean sport, they just don't want to hear of a dirty sport.

If I remember correctly in New Zealand the non free view sport channels shoe the Giro, Tour and Vuelta butboften it is just half of the stage but it is at least live. Also saw one or two of the classics I think. Not bad considering they don't show live English Premier League because they didn't pay enough and were outbid by Premier League Pass over here.

- Planned 22 rider limit would be almost guaranteed increased to 25 after talks with WT team managers

Indeed, changing limit was no brainer, it was just stupid even with smaller calendar planned.
Another big news today, Neri Sottoli stepped down as the main sponsor of the team.
This seemingly not made mainstream media yet, but Gazetta got article up, the new sponsor will be South East and it also confirms their signing of Petacchi.

I hope they scrap the idea with "no overlapping of WT races" too, or did they do that already?

Hard to say at the moment. Cookson totally changed many of McQuid's proposed changes. Getting best riders in all WT races was a big feature and one that could actually materialize at the end. But since basically every planned change is under review it's impossible to say.
Boonen & Lefevere are facing trial for tax evasion.
However, this apparently didn't ruin the atmosphere of their training camp in Spain according to these pictures. Either that, or the news hasn't reached them yet...
The Giant Alpecin team presentation is in ~1h today. Their is supposed to be a live stream on their website, which afterwards also will be fully visible.
