Zoidl should still be close after the next stage, then he can smash the TT and take the GC aswell.

@Roturn: Didn't you said that Geschke is too strong for PT? Why do you think that this will differently next season?
Because he might not be PT next season
I saw the ranking update in the TDF discussion. I wanted to implicate that he (hopefully) will safe himself in the rest of the season but obviously my message was hidden too much

Extremely passive sprint...
Orbe good in the breakaway.

What a clustered finish, but I'll take it. The closer Rosskopf can hang on prior to the TT the better shot he has at a really good placing on the GC.

Euskaltel picking the perfect early attacks in the most recent races. Not sure of his TT stat, but he may well defend this yellow now. Guess Zoidl played it too slow today, just like some other strong TTers amongst those favorites.. Geschke missing out on a more outstanding result, but at least he tried today gratz to LLS, team on a run, i guess.

Thanks, SN May be quite close then. At least Zoidl can indeed make up enough ground, i guess. But those attackers should fight for decent GC-places anyway.

Thanks Tsmoha. Man a GC win here would be amazing and could bring us into the Top 10 in the rankings. Great stage win from Arredondo in the Euskaltel fashion and well ridden from Moinard to finish 6th. With 62TT he shouldn't lose out to the rest of the Top 5 amd hopefully his leader bonus gets him through tomorrow's stage still in Yellow cause he deserves it after that mighty effort.

Ouch. Duggan completely threw his GC away here. The others lack TT so I've lowered my hopes.

Well expected result, I knew my team wouldn't be able to hold off attacks, simply not built for this stage. Hope for a good TT from Marentes now and some sprint wins from Haedo (breakaways should have a hard time on the flat stages).

I don't think Zoidl will have enough to take the GC after that stage, I just can't see the TT being long enough for him to get the necessary gap.
He should still hit the podium though so we can still gain a solid haul of points from him even if it's not quite as many as we wanted.

But looking at the puncheurs here he is propably rated as an outside favourite on that stage so he could decide to counterattack/stick with the favourites which would be cool!
But it is more important for me that Joeaar can stay there, too. If he can manage that, he can get lots of points through the GC..
Called it. Great move by Geschke putting him into a decent position for the point jersey and even for the TT. It's a shame though that Joeaar lost contact once again.
Nice stage for Euskaltel. I hope that Arredondo can defend his GC lead until the end of the race. Euskaltel could need it.

Bonsucro show strength in depth, but the top results are just not there in this one. Soto Pereira not making the top 10 in the TT is proof of that.
Would be great to finish with 4th & 6th in GC, but it looks inevitable that at least one of the two final stages will go to a break. Getting very laughable about how many continental stage races are going to early/mid stage breakaways now. |

Results are to good to be disappointing, though we hopes for more in the second stage. Sadly we got thinned out to early and weren't able to overperform in the timetrial, too. Lukas Flückiger is having a great race as a domestique and the others (despit Hollenstein oc) are at least in positions to sneak into breakaways.

A good TT by Joeaar but the gap in GC was already way too large. Now, it is all about stage wins and the point classification. Go Geschke!

Well I could hardly say Arredondo did well there but he held on nicely to his GC lead. Now time for the rest of the team to worl together and make sure the breakaway doesn't take it off us. Another GC win here would be huge.

Stannard delivered the win which I hoped for, although I did think it would be closer after we've had some difficult stages, it doesn't really compensate for JTL's GC position which I really hoped would be higher, but we cant get what we want all the time.
Now the only thing which is left is for Rowe to deliver us some wins! (not likely)

Assuming nothing crazy happens, we will happily take a 3rd place GC finish, and hopefully give a good contest to these two sprints. Great job by Marentes and the team so far.

The Euskaltel defensive strategy working well there. Arredondo surprising in 10th. And JJ Lobato with his first Top 30 in a long time.
