I don't know what Clavero was doing, he looked so good with a few km to go, or was he leading out Dong? *confused*
But a nice 7th place from a guy who is only 75SP (iirc), maybe we'll get some more surprises along the way.

Fantastic job by Passeron as the sole attacker of the day, well-deserved KoM jersey and second overall adds some points as well

No sprint from Lobato, but that was kinda expected. Leader finishing in at 35th is fine, he just needs to stay up there and do his job when the mountains arrive.

@547984: Clavero was riding for himself. Probably ran out of energy.
@cunego: it was pleasant to see Passeron solo. He really knows when to attack even though he couldn't win here. |

A better stage 2 for the team. Leader for GC, Fernandez, finishing strongly in 15th leading the other GC favourites. And Sammy Sanchez with decent showings as well sitting around 30th. Verona in the breakwas not expected and second in the KOM as the worst climber in my whole squad is rather amusing. And amI leading Teams or what?

Aussie day in the CT Good days for sprinters so far, which is nice given the importance of that race.

6th place in the hardest sprint stage? Last year that would have been 6 minutes behind, is this really the same Awang I had last year? Looks like pcm13 is a little kinder to him.
And the control team leading teams standings is a surprise.

Uugunbayar's performances so far this season are really embarrassing. He didn't score any points yet. |

''Probably using a mountain goat like Zurita as leadout wasn`t the smartest idea.''
This.
This is like the third or fourth time already this season that Forero has been poorly positioned yet launched a great sprint and still achieved a decent result. If only he could get his positioning right!

Race is more chore and duty for us than anything else.
Without great climber or sprinter I decided to send the better Team to the clashing race: Olympia Tour.
But seeing the season develop I guess it would have been smarter to let Fonseca start here and concentrate on Michael Schär's ambitions in the Netherlands.
Anyway, nice to see Lukas Flückinger showing some activity. Our only chances are in breakaways and the slim hope Remo Schuler might slip into Top30.

Nice to see Guozhang pick up some points in the breakaway, definitely helps to relieve a rather quiet stage for us.
Once again Clavero seems to have "run out of energy", but it is plausible considering we don't have much to support him. Still interesting to watch the top sprinters in the CT battle it out.

Herrera's placing on stage 1 was welcome but a little surprising given that Nutresa have 2 better sprinters in our line-up here. Unfortunately although we have the makings of an excellent CT lead-out train, none of the guys is worthy of such an accolade it would appear! On the other hand, some of the top sprinters are lacking competent lead-outs, I'm inferring this is the likely cause of the kind-of odd sprints we have seen developing on st 1 + 2 (?).
Ochoa Quintero and Masuda have stayed attentive and out of trouble on first couple of stages, so bring on the mountains in stage 3! The Nutresa contingent in Argentina are setting the bar high, time for a response from the Middle East crew .

Time for the first mountain then. |
