I'm not saying this to criticize, just that this is one of my favorite climbs
PCM doesn't handle gradients like that very well. It's hard enough to create gaps when the climb is around 10%. Besides, I prefer constant slopes over irregular ones when it's possible to have it that way.
I'm off to work in half an hour, so stage 4 will be uploaded tonight or early tomorrow.

Wonderful news. After spending several hours earlier today adding the final details to stage 4, I now find out that the .zcts file has gone corrupt...
I do of course have some autosaves, but even the most recent one is missing practically everything I added today. So instead of rebuilding the cities, adding the podium and then exporting the finished stage, I now have a few hours of recreating the lost work. Thank you, stage editor!
Too mad to get to work on that now, so I'll begin after watching the Tour stage. Will try to have it done tonight, but more likely tomorrow.

After a few more frustrating hours, I've finished the next stage. I think it was worth the effort in the end, though. Really pleased with the outcome.
2013 Int. Österreich Rundfahrt: Stage 4

Much like the Kitzbüheler Horn, this stage is a classic route for this race. For the 2nd day in a row, the Iselsberg is climbed - followed by the two Großglockner peaks of Hochtor and Fuscher Törl. After that comes a long, difficult descent and a flat part before finishing uphill in Alpendorf, above St. Johann.
In the real race, it's an absolute killer stage. PCM unfortunately struggles to produce the same kind of massacre, since the Hochtor is usually ridden quite slowly due to the long distance from the finish. That is unless you break the field to pieces yourself, of course!
Hochtor is a wonderful climb, really. Incredibly difficult due to the combination of length and high gradient, plus the slight downhill section halfway to the top - which stretches out the peloton to a long line.

The descent following the second peak is possibly even more difficult, but luckily tackled in the "wrong" direction. Around 10% most of the way and many switchbacks. Took me forever to get it looking good!

Wow, those roads look cool. And tough Profile is really good as well, it remembers me of PCM09 stages in which mostly constant-slope sections were used. But coming from you, nothing new if there are great profiles

Thanks, guys.
Stage 5 might take a couple of days, since it's much longer than the previous ones.

After a long final week of work, I finally got back to the stage yesterday. Added the final details today, and voilà !
2013 Int. Österreich Rundfahrt: Stage 5

Also returning for the 2nd year in a row is the hilltop finish on Sonntagberg. The rolling parcours also features a few other climbs, but none of them are likely to have much of an impact on the outcome of the race.
Creating some final selection ahead of the time trial is therefore all up to the final climb. Luckily, it is capable of doing so thanks to an average gradient of almost 8% over 4,3 km. In spite of what you might think, PCM actually seems to handle it very well and does open some gaps.
Funnily enough, the climb isn't even categorized. Not sure what the race organisers were thinking when they made that call.

Another nice looking stage. Great job
Btw, just taking a look at your old thread I remembered this - do you have plans of later continuing with the 2009 Giro variant? Iirc you already have done nearly one week of the race? I hope so, it would be cool

I'll take a look at it after finishing Austria. Will probably force myself to change some details for the already done stages first, though.

Any chance you still have the .zcts from the Courchevel stage of the 2005 tour you made for pcm 10? Can't seem to find the stage in your pcm 12 thread
Edit: just saw about the '09 Giro. Really looking forward to that, it was a great route with the Cinque terre TT plus all the 'Southern' mountain stages

Boy, that was a long time ago!
I don't have the files anymore, unfortunately. Got lost when I bought a new computer a long way back. Sorry.

2013 Int. Österreich Rundfahrt: Stage 6

Another flat stage is next up. It features a couple of low category climbs, but is still probably the easiest stage so far. The finale is a 10 km circuit around Poysdorf.

Yeah, Imageshack has decided to annoy me for some reason.
I'll look into reuploading somewhere else. In the meantime, you can find those profiles on the previous page.

There, everything is uploaded to Imgur instead. Links work fine here, so hopefully no more issues like this.
