Stage 05: St-Lary-Soulan - Bagnères-de-Bigorre (ITT) (47,9 km)
Info: The 5th stage is a medium mountain ITT of 47,9 km. This stage starts in St-Lary-Soulan. The cyclists will have to pass the Col d'Aspin, to finally arrive at Bagnères-de-Bigorre. An special ITT with a flat part, a mountain pass and a final descent part. It seems that every ryder will have an opportunity in this ITT, but who knows...
The cyclists will have to pass 1 climb in this stage:
- Col d'Aspin: 11,1 km-long climb at 7,1%. Category 1.

I have to questions:
Did you test your last ITT stage already? I made a similar ITT for my Variant and I got very strange results because of a long descent at the end of the stage. Maybe you have to check this, too.
and
How do you get those great road signs into the stage?

As said by bigggassi (but I never played such a stage) this ITT might give strange results and, if nice in PCM, I don't think it's really realistic
@ bigggassi : Tilo and I have got these IBs. They come from old packs (Fantomon ?)

I have tested it and I have this results:
As I said before, this kind of ITT is a combination of flat, mountain and descent so there are more possibilities of winners or ryders who can make a good ITT.
Strange is Cancellara winning a High Mountain ITT or winning in Alpe d'Huez but this stage is more open in the final result, so for me it is OK.
And of course, there is the day form, so a good ITT ryder could have a bad day and a normal ITT ryder could have a good or very good day. I think that all the parametres affect the final result, so the results are not strange (in my opinion...).

In every stage I have included the new isolated objects that I have used in it, so you can check them. And I have included a text file where I explain how I have created the isolated objects and of course, where I have obtained them. In any case here is the link where you can get most of them:
https://pcmdaily.c...hp?did=584
There you have the objects to edit them like you want. For example, for the city names, you have the dds file to include the name with photoshop or something.
Anyway, check one of my stages and take a look in the text file that is included.
Of course, I'm here to help you if you want with something about this.

Hi everybody!
I have spent a lot of time in creating some 3D elements, as many of you know, but I'm ready to go ahead with my TDF variant.
Here is a little preview of the next stage Tarbes - Luz-Ardiden. This is not the final version, it's only testing, but the final result will be very similar.
Hope you like it...

looking back at that ITT, why is there a KoM point in it? To me it just seems odd

When in an ITT there is a climb, it is categorized like in normal stages. This mountain pass is used like an intermediate point in an ITT. Obviously, there are mountain points to win in this mountain pass. Here are some examples of Tour de France:

Stage 06: Tarbes - Luz-Ardiden (143,3 km)
Info: The 6th stage is a high mountain stage of 143,3 km. This stage starts in Tarbes. The cyclists will have to pass the Col des Palomières; the wonderful, awesome, legendary, mythical... Col du Tourmalet, to finally arrive at the top of Luz-Ardiden. A classic Pyrenees stage with 2 of my favourite climbs of ever. Only the brave will achieve the glory in this stage!!
The last month of September I was very lucky to climb the Tourmalet cycling on my bike. Reach the summit of the Col du Tourmalet was one of the best feelings in my life...
The cyclists will have to pass 3 climbs in this stage:
- Col des Palomières: 5,1 km-long climb at 6,5%. Category 3.
- Col du Tourmalet: 17,1 km-long climb at 7,3%. Category HC.
- Luz-Ardiden: 13,6 km-long climb at 7,4%. Category HC.

**Important Note: It's strongly recommended to install the following packs:

-Paravalanche_Barriers_For_PCM12_V2.5
Next Stage: Lourdes - Pau

The city in the first screen looks great! And it must have been a nice feeling to recreate the Tourmalet after you've felt the real experience

The city is Sainte-Marie de Campan and I'm really satisfied with the final result.

Now you can understand my determination to create the Paravalanche Barriers...
This summer for me has been really fantastic: I have climbed Col du Tourmalet and Col d'Aubisque. Both of them are really, really hard... but it worths it, of course. And I have visited with the car, Pourtalet, Luz-Ardiden and Soulor.
So you have all the reason: Recreate these climbs after visiting them is really nice and satisfying because you take care of real details that you have seen there.
Hope you enjoy this stage because I have tried to include the maximum realism and feeling of these climbs.
I'm very proud and satisfied with the final result.

Screens are looking very nice, should be a great stage to play!
I second that the first pic is most impressive and hope that stuff like that makes the game developers offer more IB's (on a regular basis) in upcoming PCMs.
The fifth pic (Barèges) makes me check in the stage viewer on how you have done that.
I always wished that it was possible to create just empty pavement to place IB's on. Really like the buildings close to each other,... but in PCM every small house (somehow) has a garden.
The way you set up the village it looks imo more realistic than the auto-generated cities. Well done! |

Thanks for your rewarding words!
And about Barèges I will explain you my procedure:
-First you have to create a city by the next way:
You have to pay attention to no houses creation... and you will have something like that:
Then you only have to spawn houses in the created pavement:
The only problem are trees and people (I don't know if them can be removed...) because you have to try to avoid trees or persons embedded in the houses. But with some patience you could reach a good result, I assure you.

Amazing work with the last stage. What you've done with those IOs is really impressive!
The cities look so much more realistic than the ones the game creates, like Margh Norway said.

Petit supplément
NB : Je confirme mon post sur le topic de Stylus ( ). C'est le seul col pour lequel j'ai utilisé un panneau. Pour l'IB du cycliste, il faut que je modifie la couleur des roues car le rendu est :?
Yours is much more better done, I'd like to see it soon

Thanks for your words. I have to say that my first tentative to recreate the Tourmalet monument was very similar to the one in your picture. Almost, I have to say that I have spent over a month to get the final result. So many hours trying and trying... But I'm very proud of the final result.
You have the isolated object in the last stage, in the download. Enjoy it!

Thanks for explaining. Though I try to avoid trees "morphing" into houses your result is nice and the viewer shot seems true to the ingame experience: riding through a beautiful, generic-looking village.
Keep doing the unusual. |

Stage 07: Lourdes - Pau (148,6 km)
Info: The 7th stage is a mountain stage of 148,6 km. This stage starts in Lourdes. After the difficult Pyrenees stages it seems to be a good finish for sprinters in Pau, but the cyclists will have to pass Col du Soulor, Col d'Aubisque and Col de Marie-Blanque. Another classic Pyrenees stage with classic climbs, but through the easiest sides at Aubisque and Marie-Blanque. It will be amazing to admire the beautiful sceneries at the top of Soulor and Aubisque.
The cyclists will have to pass 3 climbs in this stage:
- Col du Soulor: 19,6 km-long climb at 5,3%. Category 1.
- Col d'Aubisque: 6,6 km-long climb at 5,6%. Category 3.
- Col de Marie-Blanque: 11,2 km-long climb at 5,5%. Category 2.

Thanks for your words. Like you, I hope to finish my variant. The last 2 months I had problems with my computer so I had to buy new motherboard, graphics card, power supply... and of course I had to format the hard drive.
But now I'm here again, 100% motivated!
