Did anyone find a work around for this in the end?

Don't play stages which have water, either by ignoring them or removing the water.

2nd season- giro d'italia
stage 14: Boaro Terme- Lugano
stage 15: Lugano - Varege

Both stages have the same lake and water contruction i think.
My game also laggs heavy at Milan-San Remo.
Stage 14 does not lagg for me.
Stage 15 does lagg for me (allthough it is not as heavy as Mi-SR)

Maybe this info helps....but probably not.
But as we say in Holland "you got to shoot, to hit the target".

P.s @roturn , tried searching for that mi-sr version of yours, but i'm a noob so i failed. Possible to put a link for me ? pretty please with sugar on top.

So we got to use lachis editor to remove water in stages?
I have no clue how to fix this lagg problem...sort of new at this.

You cannot remove the water, only the person who made the stage. Look here for a similar question: https://pcmdaily.c...d_id=24913

But you could create a new stage or look for an replacement in the stage database.

KayZeroX
thanks for the reply
creating stages is too much for me, respect for those who make em
So i replace and hope i got a good replacement here in this pcmdaily expansion pack.

I have no clue if this will screw up 3d:
example:
I want to replace stage 6 and 7 (Le Havre) of the tour de France i'm currently playing.
If i understand you correctly i replace the (looked it up in your editor>stages>gene_SG_variation) top_tdf_(06 and 07)_v2_emmea files (.cds .zces) with one of the other stage 6 files: V1, V3, V4 (roturn < yes me the noob also now found out where to find roturn's Mi-SR version)
So do i replace both .cds and .zces files? and do i need to do anything else ? (like in the old pcm days i needed to correct the stage's timegap measurements etc. somebody else did allready tell me that the timegap measurement feature is no longer editable)

Gonna be lots of work for a noob like me to correct all those laggy stages...
Is it possible to create a stage pack for us noobs with all the laggy water stages replaced by fixed stages?

Edit: I also searched in the "stage database" here on pcmdaily. downloaded 1 file from maker "biggassi" TDF stage 6 keiserlautern. It contains 3 files .cds .zces and .zcts
So do i need to rename the files(in wich case i would replace em with the one my savegame is currently at) or do i place the biggassi "tour_de_France_6_1. files" in the CM_stages dir, then replace the "emmea" version in your editor by "typing in" the biggassi stage (Tour_de_france_6_1) in the "gene_sg_variant" ?

If i understand correctly reading other posts, the .zcts file is the file that can be edited in stage-editor, if needed to correct RR/TT/Mountain for example ?

No need to edit anything, just replace the old files. As for a 'stage pack' that would correct this, of course we'd also like to have no stages that cause lagging. If the people who play them help us find out which ones have too much water and cause it, it'd be a big step forward that Wink You could mention such stages in the bug reports thread, or even directly to the stage maker.

The .zcts can be used for doing anything in the stage editor (thus including correcting RR/TT etc), but the main point of the necessity to upload them together with the stage when uploading in the stage DB is so that even if a stagemaker is no longer active when future PCMs are released, we can still convert the stages if needed (like the past two games have needed stage conversions - for a PCM10 stage to work in 11, you had to convert, same for 11/12).

KayZeroX
aha very helpfull information
-
but what do you mean exactly with "replace" the old files ?
for example: if i would like to use the biggassi "tour_de_France_6_1" stage instead of the "top_tdf_06_v2_emmea"
step by step please

lluuiiggii
Rename the "tour_de_France_6_1" .cds and .zces files to "top_tdf_06_v2_emmea" and paste them in Main PCM folder/CM_Stages, overwriting the old ones. That's all Wink

KayZeroX
thanks for confirming that, and offcourse thanks for the super quick reply

I wonder if there is something that can be done to the surface of the water. For example flatten it a bit or something to help with performance. I've noticed what looks like some shader files, some water .dds files which could be edited..

I might have some time on Thursday or Friday. I don't have much experience doing it, or if it will make a difference. Does anyone else have a view point on it?

Hi all!

Maybe we can try to edit some of these values and see what happen...This file is located in 3D/Landscapes/water/waters.xml. As the problems are with the seas, we can try to edit some values:

<Water>
<Name>Sea_00</Name>
<Color>
<R>0.12</R>
<G>0.18</G>
<B>0.21</B>
</Color>

<R>0.08</R>
<G>0.16</G>
<B>0.17</B>
</Color1>
<ColorMap>Lnd_WaterX_BlendX_00_D.dds</ColorMap>
<ColorMapScale>0.002</ColorMapScale>
<Specular>
<R>1</R>
<G>1</G>
<B>1</B>
</Specular>
<Fog>
<Start>0</Start>
<End>750</End>
</Fog>
<Shininess>400</Shininess>
<AlphaMin>0.85</AlphaMin>
<KReflect>0.75</KReflect>
<FresnelPower>1.2</FresnelPower>

<Map2>
<Name>Lnd_WaterX_WaveXX_02_N.dds</Name>
<TimeCoef>0.04</TimeCoef>
<Angle>0.87</Angle>
<Tile>4</Tile>
</Map2>
<Border>

<End>8.4</End>

Most of them I don't know what mean, but it's time to test something...

I will try with some of them. If somebody wants to help it would be much appreciated.Wink

Hi everyone!

Good news (I think...). In every <Name>Sea_XX</Name> I have edit the Fog values to:
<Fog>
<Start>0</Start>
<End>0</End>
</Fog>

and for me the performance improves a lot. There are the seas but my fps are similar to no sea/coast stages.

I let you to test it and tell your results. For me it works. Now these stages for me are playable like the others.

I'll wait for your results...

roturn
I just tested it in the Oman_03 stage. Still the same lags.

It always depends on the size of the sea. In some stages like MSR, Oman_03 or California_02 I think the size is half the map. So lots of lags.

In other stages, where it`s just a bigger lake it`s not that much of a problem like in Lombardia for example.

I have tested it in Giro d'Italia stages which have sea and the improvement is very good (I have no lags).
I have tested right now Oman_03 and yes, there are lags but not a lot like before, so for me this is an improvement.

I'm going to test some other values to see what happen.

Camacho
I have tried with the rest of the values and there is no improvement, so for me setting fog to 0 is a good improvement.

Certainly, there are some stages with a big sea, like criterium international, oman, california, where there are some lags but, for me, they are considerably reduced.

I think that the reduction of lags finally depends on the PC you are using but they are less than before.
I have to say that I'm talking about my game, my PC but I think the result must be more or less the same in every PC.

Finally, the drastic solution if the stage you are playing is unplayable is the next:

In the folder User Name/My documents/Pro Cycling Manager 2012/Config/Stage Configuration.xml you can set <WaterGeneration>false</WaterGeneration> and then in the stages there is no water in any of its shapes, but the lags disappear completely. It's strange to see a hole in the land without water but at least the stage is playable.

Hope to help people with the same problem.

I'll wait for your answers to see if it works for you...
