Oh my God. Fucking hell. What is this fricking world? God damn it. The guy was only a few years older than me. He had his entire life ahead of him.
R.I.P. Chad. Another bright kid gone. Too many. Too fricking many.
RIP Exxon Duke, David Veilleux, Double Feature, and Monster Energy

True tragedy, I feel very sorry for him, his family and friends. Too young, too young. RIP Chad.

Jesus.
Born in 1995. That's younger than me.
Very, very sad. |

What a tragedy, US Cyling and the world in general are having way too many tragedies like this. RIP Chad

Astana will start with 8 riders at the Giro with Scarponi's spot being left empty out of respect for the fallen Italian

Sky has suspended Moscon for 6 weeks following his racist remarks.

Which likely means he misses absolutely zero scheduled races.

UCI yet to give out their investigation result, but as they'd likely give a ban of similar length i don't know what else to expect. Sky also sending him on a course to learn about racism, and UCI probably will apply a fine as well.
Really you can't expect much more than that, and Portal and Moscon did go speak to FDJ and Reza who accepted the apology and seem ok with the actions being taken.

Oh, good.
That'll increase rider safety.
Hope to see awards for best crash, fastest descent without helmet and longest ride on sidewalk. |

What's the difference between this, and say the Points Jersey? Both can lead to a rider taking an unessesary risk and causing a crash and/or injury to themselves and others.
Or the GC? That's also a time based competition that encourages riders to take risks to gain on their rivals, and that also covers descents.

Sure, but a potential crash in a descent is usually way more dangerous and high speed than in a sprint.
But tbh I like the idea for a competition just on some parts of a stage. This would be both a much better idea when going uphill. Or every stage could have a specially timed segment. Give money, a special jersey and a time bonification for GC for that and it could be a great success and it could improve both the spectacle and racing.

The worst bit is that they actually had that in the 1953 TDF because an insurance company wanted to sponsor the race, Robic won it.
