A real shame that the career of one of the most likeable riders in the peloton has to end like that.

And they might find a couple more, as Athens 2004 samples could show a few CERA positives.

But those could be from any sport, not necessarily cycling.

No. It was used as early as February 2004 at least. 2008 is when a test was finally developed.
And just to make you a little depressed: Those 4 years it took are almost a record for how fast a test was developed for a drug

Gabrovski must be the most obvious doper in history. It was hilarious when he went all Pantani on that mountain. At least he put the EPO to good use

I never saw a clearer doped effort than he did.
When he went on that mountain with a lot pf k's to go, I would have betted a good amount of money he wouldn't get anywhere. And he was never to be seen again.
Plain ridiculous, but sooo fun to watch

A reminder of why cycling was more fun to watch in the golden 90s and 00s

Well it's still not 100% sure as this confirms :
''“The plan is to do it,” the Sky rider told Cyclingnews, “but I just have to finish up here [on the Tour] first and get through the Olympics unscathed and still on track and then we can see about the Vuelta. I’d like to do it.”
It's really how he recovers from Tour and Olympics that matter. No point him going there if he's not in 100% shape again.
no way he can be top form also there
But he is not top form now, he will be even more stuffed...ehm...sorry, "better" at the Vuelta. But Conta will wipe the floor with him...

We will wait long to discover the Sky drug than, if it will ever happen...

Schlecks supposedly made a deal with Astana before the positivi test from Schleck. Around 4 Millions for both. |
