Dominant. Great to see PHL deliver what he was expected to do. Big congratulations, knockout!
Very good stage for us too with Amezawa defending his KoM podium standing. Hoping he gets lucky with whom goes into the breakaway on the final mountain stage, so he can claim a top 3 there.
Thank you for another stellar report! |

Seems like Munoz does (slightly) better when not trying to join the break. Definitely hoped for a bit more from him in this Giro, so I hope he can redeem himself in the next GT's. It's possible that he just started out with some bad daily form and never really got out of that negative spiral anymore. PT-ranking wise it's good to see Oomen and Madrazo do well in GC, as we didn't score a lot ourselves. Sterbini also with some very average time trialling. Superb reporting still of course, thank you for that Ulrich

Oof that was awful. It also seems like Fung was sent back to support Roglic also endangering his top 30. I hope this puts Roglic in a position to try and make up time again by joining the break on the final mountain stage. |

Solid stuff by Nesset once again. Also good to see PHL getting some stage wins to mirror his dominance in this race.

Pre Giro the goal was top-10, during the Giro it changed to top-5 and now with only one mountain stage left Sivakov has the opportunity to go for the podium. But it won't be easy, it looks like Sivakov condition is fading a little bit, but that is only natural in the 3 week. Really scared and excited to open up the report tomorrow, Go Tinkoff!

Another great stage by PHL. Was kind of disappointed to see Almeida miss the BOTD but after another top10 performance I guess I can feel lucky already. Congrats on the win KO!

Gayral has been our best rider this tour and that says a lot, especially with awful tactics

We made a team around Grosu so not a lot to cheer about other than that. It gets worse though when Grosu doesn't deliver.

Wow, that was way above expectations for a final mountain stage for us!
Amezawa did very, very well to defend his KOM standings, and great to see him fight for another stage win. As the report points out, he has been close on several occasions, making this a great Giro for him, also without the stage win.
Seeing Van Poucke end 3rd in the KOM standings is also a surprise, as he has been kind of lucky to hold on as other riders have not been interested. And with his great early stage wins in the mountains, it has been a sensational Giro for him too.
Congratulations on the stage win, jaxika! TGH was probably the strongest in the breakaway, but ruining the stage hunt for himself being out on his own for lots of kilometers. |

Another good performance from Nesset. Probably quite tired now, but a bunch of top 10s, 14th in GC and 4rd in the KoM - as everything stands now, will be a good outcome in this race for our boy. He's not a natural winner, so while he possibly could have won a stage by going all in on one or two chances, I'm glad he's chosen the strategy that he has. A bit surprised that he didn't try to get some minor KoM points today and take 3rd there, but oh well.
Thanks for the report, Ulrich!

Disappointing to not see Munoz in the break for the second time in a row, as this was his last shot at redemption. Finishing the GC in 32nd and without a single stage top-10 is below expectations.
Lovely to see McNulty take this one, feels like a little 'reward' for Ulrich after three weeks (more or less) of phenomenal reporting Sterbini missing the time cut is not fun, but very probably doesn't mean a lot in the larger picture.
Looking forward to the final stage, one more chance for Abdul Halil to score some points.

This was a Great stage, epic performance by Tao (for the first time this Giro) that set him up very well. Yes, he probably was the strongest and should've won as also his helpers could've outmatched Stancu and he prevent homs3lf from going too early and burning out on the ride, but 3rd is fine with how he broke into the GC Top10 with that performance. Stellar ride and awesome coverage, great to watch as a redemption ride after a rough 2nd and 3rd week.

Good team work to reclaim the teams classification. Generally I would've hoped for better from Roglic as having him work for Smith is kind of a waste. Also a little unfortunate for Herregoedts to drop out of the top 100 after being in the break.
But generally I think I can be very happy with this giro.
Congrats jaxika on the stage win! |

This was a great stage to follow!
Lots of stuff going on in terms of the spots outside of PHL who seems like he will be untouchable for a while besides Herklotz. The next generation of GC riders seems to be ready though, what a battle between Sivakov and Bernal for the white this Giro, commiserations to Oldfardh on losing his podium on the final mountain stage, but very good Giro from Oomen that shows that he is someone to be trusted in the future!

Kinda disappointing for Barguil to finish worst-of-the-best here, I would have hoped for better than 7th. Nonetheless it was an exciting race up to the end, thank you for all of your hard work Ulrich. Congrats to knockout on sealing the win, as well as beagle and Oleg for the podium positions.

Thank you for the great coverage throughout these three weeks, Ulrich!
Personally I'm happy to leave this race having won two classifications and two stages. The only thing I'm not totally happy with is Roglic' performance. Regarding the podium positions it was interesting to follow the fight, even though the winner was already known very early. Congrats, knockout! |
