Seems like a good time for an overview on how my riders have started the season:
Robert Stannard had a great start at the Herald Sun Tour, picking up where he left off at the Japan Cup with a 5th on a Stage 1 sprint ahead of names such as D. Smith and Doull, before finishing in 10th in a group with names such as Pantano and Morton on a flat stage 2 finish after a tough hill where the likes of Woods and Porte dominated. He then got another top 10 in the bunch sprint on an entertaining and rolling Stage 3, won by a Sky roleur duo with the amazing Luke Mudgway who deserved way better MG stats in 4th. He slipped over the next two days down the GC rankings, the fatigue setting in, but held on for 4th in the Youth Standings and 26th on GC. Can't wait to see more from him this year!
Bram Welten made his season start at the Etoile de Besseges (won by the marvellous Christophe Laporte), with an eighth in a long sprint on Stage 2 (also won by Laporte) a notable result for him. Next for him is the Tour de la Provence as he looks for another solid PCT season with his all-around abilities.
Clement Champoussin hasn't made his season start yet, but he is staying at Chambery Cyclisme for another year as he finishes his schooling and also looks to continue his progression in "a pivotal season for his future". All things going well, his "main objective is to finalize a professional contract at the end of the 2019 season at AG2R La Mondiale."

No idea what I'm doing in the February Draft, but I look forward to it
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

As jandal started promoting his riders, I'll do the same (and probably exaggerate just a little bit ):
Remco Evenepoel started the season as expexted, finishing the Vuelta a San Juan as 9th overall, winning the jersey for the best youth rider (of course), getting a 3rd place in the time trial on stage 3 and working hard for Alaphilippe on stage 5. Good thing this race is at the beginning of the season, otherwise nobody would actually talk about this results, as he himself called it "just a preparation race" in which he started with "no expectations" according to this article (in German): https://www.radsport-news.com/sport/s...113606.htm
Let's see what he can do in the UAE Tour.
Alexys Brunel hasn't started his season with the Groupama-FDJ Continental team yet.
Michel Ries has participated in the Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana with his Kometa Cycling team, but hasn't got much of a result there (40th on stage 4; 77th overall; 16th in youth classification). |

Awesome, looking forward to the next round of the draft!
As for our riders, nobody has really started their season yet, Evans finished in the front group of the U23 Nats I guess.

Draft 21.2.2019
Sign-Ups open!
So far the quantity of responses has been a little bit disappointing. Let's see if we can get the numbers up I hope to see at least the active participants of the kick-off draft coming back for this one

I thought I already won after the 1st round, but I don't mind continuing

Draft Order
February 2019 Draft
Roughly 2 days before the February Draft starts, the draft commission is ready to release the draft order.
On top of the board stands kandesbunzler26, who already had a great pick in the very first round and got Remco Evenepoel out of it. On the top standings we also have redordead and Shonak, both that have gone a little bit off mainstream with their picks so far.
Down the order we found a really crappy draw for Abhishek, who may have seen a historical low in drawn numbers already here. Aquarius and trekbmc similarly couldn't capitalize of their higher draw range, which will improve even more for the may edition now.
Participant | Draw 1 | Draw 2 | Draw 3 | Draw 4 | Draw 5 | Total | Rank | kandesbunzler26 | 756 | 608 | 545 | 724 | 786 | 3419 | 1 | redordead | 912 | 767 | 356 | 293 | 565 | 2893 | 2 | Shonak | 826 | 35 | 638 | 888 | 252 | 2639 | 3 | Croatia14 | 482 | 286 | 872 | 454 | 392 | 2486 | 4 | jaxika | 510 | 3 | 148 | 738 | 845 | 2244 | 5 | FreitasPCM | 157 | 775 | 10 | 550 | 722 | 2214 | 6 | df_Trek | 248 | 781 | 43 | 767 | 369 | 2208 | 7 | jandal7 | 798 | 234 | 6 | 845 | 214 | 2097 | 8 | cio93 | 558 | 454 | 173 | 265 | 645 | 2095 | 9 | Aquarius97 | 593 | 289 | 251 | 26 | 899 | 2058 | 10 | trekbmc | 108 | 767 | 218 | 604 | 74 | 1771 | 11 | TheManxMissile | 468 | 16 | 703 | 322 | 237 | 1746 | 12 | AbhishekLFC | 235 | 186 | 104 | 69 | 368 | 962 | 13 |
With cio93 being back in the game we've got 11 clear participants. In the draw there also were the other 2 participants included that drafted all 3 riders on the first draw. However, if they don't give a sign of continuation they will be skipped. If there are still people willing to join they'll be allowed to draft at the end of the order, then of course having the highest chance of a top draft pick in the next draft.
That said: At the 21st of February at 21:21 daily time kandesbunzler26 will be on the clock for 21 hours in order to make his choice for the pick. Prepare your choices! |

And with the first pick of the 21 and done February 2019 Draft, I pick the winner of the 2018 Gent-Wevelgem/Kattekoers-Ieper (beating about half the first round picks of the Kick-Off Draft) and just another member of the Groupama-FDJ Continental Team:
Spoiler Žiga Jerman
I think redordead is on the clock now.

I was hoping to add Jerman to my squad, but alas it was not to be. Great pick though
So with our 4th pick of the 21 and Done draft I pick:
Spoiler Karel Vacek

After loosing out on the #1 option to redordead, we'll take the obvious choice:
