At least Vrecer gets mentioned quite often... Hoping he can improve his position slightly, but to be honest I do not know how the others are against the clock...
That said I do know Marios Athanasiades could be an outside bet.

I'd have prefered to see the other Rodrigues in the race at the top of results list.
Some more bonus seconds would have been great.
But honestly there is nothing I can complain about, Rodrigues leads all the rankings, the KoM win is already sealed. He probably will loose the points jersey to the tied Iglinksy, because of being a worse timetrialer and realisticly seen Iglinsky will probably make up the ground and also take the overall. I hope not, but it is to expect. Hopefully the yellow jersey will make Rodrigues grow wings. |

Sinelobov with the strongtest performance so far. Would have liked to gain some seconds on the main group though, so now it'll be hard to get anything more than top 20. |

Jose Eriberto Rodrigues. What a win and what a stage for Bonsucro in general, with our two GC hopes right up there as well. Well done to the three survivors of the break, only losing around 1'00 to the favourites on the final climb.
About the TT.
Nicácio certainly to move all the way up from 11th to 5th in GC and Paulinho could rise to 6th.
If V.Rodrigues is on a good day I think he, might, just, hang on for the GC lead, but I feel he has to be on a great day to hold off Iglinskiy and even then I think only a matter of seconds will separate them.
Fireworks on the TT. |

I wondering Zoidl has a chance of winning the TT? I'm sure his result will be the only positive thing my team can get out of it.

15th in the GC, decent.
However Athanasiades could've done better in the TT, guess the mountains didn't do him any good...

That was close.. Please don't crash now Rodrigues! And Iglinsky don't you dare sprinting for bonus seconds on the last stage, with some of the sprinters out now. |

Kinda sad for my friends over at Maloja but certainly both deserved the win here.
Looking at those GC gaps we gotta be happy with 9th, and comparing with pre-race expectations these nearly two weeks went incredibly well anyway
All our sprinters missed the time cut (damn you, even Rasmussen is still in ) so maybe Herklotz will even get in the mix with everyone surely tired as hell.

That answered that question, brilliant performance by Zoidl to get the stage win. I doubt we can repeat our performance from last years final stage as we didn't bring Scarponi with us this year and with Awang out the race I doubt Jiriakov would be able to take the sprint, even if he doesn't mind trying every now and again.

7s, that's a damn shame ... but it wasn't meant to be. Congrats to Rodrigues and Siam.

I am extremely satisfied with this race. We have been active and placed many times. Hope to do well on the final stage. This will really help my CT points ranking I hope.

Couldn't have asked for a whole lot more there, 3 in the top 10 is some going especially when it moves your riders up to 6th and 7th .
I am a bit mythed that Nicacio couldn't overhaul Kulhavy in GC though, 9/10 times I would expect a 13 point difference in TT to mean that Nicacio should put at least 1 minute into Kulhavy every 10 kilometres.
I had a feeling the GC would be close after that and there it is, hoping everyone stays upright on the final stage. |

What to say. I'm impressed by the mountain stage, Raisin attacking early, else he likely would've moved down the ladder even more. As for the TT, great ride to get a podium on the stage, but so close to moving up one or two places on GC!
All in all I hoped for more points, but didn't anticipate this startlist. So it's okay.
And didn't pay attention too closely but the GC race at the top was quite exciting for a long race like this!
baseballlover312, 06-03-14 : "Nuke Moscow...Don't worry Russia, we've got plenty of love to go around your cities"
Sarah Palin, 08-03-14 (CPAC, on Russian aggression) : "The only thing that stops a bad guy with a nuke is a good guy with a nuke"
Big thanks to jdog for making this AMAZING userbar!

Strong sprint. Shame I forgot to bring a few strong guys to help Polivoda, Gomenyuk would've been perfect...

Sure PCM, send your best climber in the break in the flattest stage instead of the mountains.
Anyway, overall a decent outcome for me. Pozdnyakov with a stage win, a podium and some top-10s and my team miraculously joining 2(!) early breaks.
Finally, some good reports roturn

This was an exciting race to follow (even for an uninvolved manager)... next season I hire a climber, too.
Stage 9 was the highlight in my opinion, fascinating race developement, impressive reporting. Gratz to anyone involved here!

Holy crap, yes!
I never expected Rasmussen to get through the mountains. But we had a perfect leadout here, and his acceleration and recovery are superior to most of the other sprinters. Brilliant job by the team!

Soo close, kind of feel sorry for Iglinky, one podium in a stage more and he would have won. But also am very happy about the result. Rodrigues taking two stages and the overall, something I wouldn't have expected. That makes it 2/2 goals achieved so far. The win here was the goal I considered the hardest.
Thanks roturn for great reports, also thanks mb. In his version Rodrigues probably wouldn't have won, though. |

Thanks to roturn for finishing this race at last, it played out with some really good AI for once. Was nice to see former Vesuvio rider Iglinski do well, but a deserved victory for Rodrigues.
