Anyone else who already knew him back then?
I knew him from early 2010 in the Tour Down Under. I did make his original English Wikipedia page, atleast that counts for something .
Sure does, nice work |

For me it was work previous week, work this week and work for next 30-40 years, why it is boring?
Whats your job then?
I am accounting/calculating the production at the factory, boring

I went today to a karting with some friends. 38ºC and a killer sun, remember Cancellara last year at RvV, when his jersey was almost white because of all the salt he lost? I looked exactly like that today. I think it's a miracle that I didn't melt there.

Well, I'm off to my last race of the season. 15 laps of 5km eaach circuit. About 50 riders. Flat exept for a killer 700 m climb about 20% up to the finish. Last time we raced this course I finished eighth. The time before late 30's, as I was in the break all day and doing that climb 15 times can kill a man.

I got to know him in PCM10, just after release, I signed pre-season (custom team) because I though he'd have a great potential. I was a total cycling-n00b btw, back then.

Well, it was pretty good. Got dropped going up the final climb for the 2nd to last times, out of a group of 8. I felt I might crack so I pulled the plug and went at my own pace. With 2 km left I brought back another guy. I won the sprint for 7th. 4 guys sprinted it out in front, we finished 2:05 down on them, the 2 man group ahead at :45. Good race. I wish I had gotten more help from the other guy, but he was completely popped so I just had to drag him. Luckily he couldn't come around. Good result to end the Spring-Summer series.

This isn't really off-topic, we have a thread for "your cycling"
https://pcmdaily.com/forum/viewthread....rowstart=0
Anyway, you said you were in the break 2 times ago, was it an exception or do you usually form breaks and chase and etc where you race? If it was here the strongest would just pull away from the first climb and then the weaker among the strongest would drop until there's only one left and that's it. They ride like crazy Oh and nice race, 7th seems like a good result I think, not sure what were your ambitions though Btw, is it normal that you race at night? Usually all races here are at the morning

The race started at 5:30.
And yes, there is strategy involved, to a lower extent then I would like, but yes, there are breaks, etc.
7th is good, but I was really hoping for a top 5. We rotate courses though, and this is the hilly one, my least favorite discipline, so I am glad for it. Last year I podiumed on the mountain stage. It was the only road stage (not a crit) with a 6 km climb at 8-9% most of the way up, my specialty. I tend to overextend myself on the short steep ones, which is why I dropped off before I cracked. If I hadn't I might have plummeted out of the top 10.
I had seen that thread, but I wasn't sure if it was active and didn't want to bump it. Thanks for the tip.
The Fall series doesn't count for much, as the peletons are like 20 guys and it's more like you said in the post above than actual tactics. Tactics are what I live on. I am not physically close to the best there, so I live on my cycling knowledge, and I can know my limits from PCM So I don't really do them often, or sign up for points. So that's it for me this year!
So anyway it was decent. I didn't expect more. Didn't want less. Alll is well.
