Sept truly a golden month for Eurosport after a good ToB and a great Peace race
Gouault hanging on for an unexpected win in l'Avenir
Jerome 'crash' Coppel surviving another tumble to take a stage win and a strong lead in the KOM in Spain. I think he has redeemed himself
Could be the last time the jersey is seen on the podium though as both Eurosport and Pepsi are pulling out at the end of the season.
New sponsors are Suntory who own lucozade, ribena and orangina. The drinks are on us

There we go, the final three stages of La Vuelta are now up as well as the final standings. Well, the ones I knew how to do anyway.
Great race. Really enjoyed it.

Spoiler Congrats to Shonak. Definitely the deserving winner in the end. Tejay rode magnificently for three weeks but imo he didn't deserve the win. Absolutely delighted with our best GT by miles. Three stage wins, second overall and eight days in the red jersey. Very nice.

That's a pretty good first GT for us but really upset how close we got to some stage wins without getting one. Interesting that without crash De Gendt could have podiumed reminds me of 2014 tour where Pinot would have been second if it weren't for crosswinds (on stage 6 iirc he lost 59 seconds).
Some positives to take out ofc but disappointed with no stage wins. Atkins and Apollonio (for a bit) some surprise standouts.
Cheers for the pace brewers

This race deserves a banana
De Gendt delivering beautifully with a 4th 3rd and finally a stage win in the MTT to move him up to 8th in GC (without that crash he would've been 3rd
Chavenal also amazing this race with 2 stages himself and fourth in KOM, hoping for most combative too, really amazing
Thanks a lot brewers for this
And sorry Matt.

I forgot to mention we'll keep Moser at any cost even though he sucks.

Thanks a lot for some great commentary on the race and quick race coverage!
Obviously happy that Purito finally got his Grand Tour win after missing out on it two years in a row. This was his arguably final shot with decline hitting him probably hard in the off-season so it was all or nothing and despite all my energy mostly going into Contador's failed double ambitions, Purito achieved great success here. After one and a half season of setbacks for the team (excl Contador's WC), it's good to have won a GT again.
Purito's success will make off-season difficult tho, let's see how we'll handle the transformation. But that's a problem for future Shonak, present Shonak is just happy.
Also some very nice opponents, imo much more fun to fight it out against guys like Mochema, Van Garderen and VDB than it is against the usual suspects. Gratz to brewers and Rider (podium in all three gts, welcome to the club )!
Favourite pic in a loong time!

IMO it's likely that some teams dissolve at end of season.

Madrazo was meant to be our poster boy but just remembered he was here. Did he, I dunno, die?

Thank you very much brewers. This went so fast, I fell behind with checking the results. Hope I'll find the time to update the rankings some time soon.
Great performance of my team, having 6 riders in the first 32 gave us deservedly the team ranking. Monfort with 9th also fulfilling our goal. Still it's kind of disappointing only 1 second behind 8th and being 5th not so far from the end. Basically every day I had another rider finishing the best of my team. When pursuing a good single GC result that's not really good, but I can't complain.
The stage win by Boily was a pleasant result as well, the same with the youth jersey for Khozhatayev. The steal paid off. After winning the KoM jerseys the two editions before, my team again leaves with a jersey.
Edit: Of course also congrats Shonak. It's great seeing Purito taking his last chance for an GT win and not finish after another new winner as second.

Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Very strong crosswinds, missed the echelon and had no strong team mates to bring him back. So he just sat with Eijssen, a rider well known for his power on the flat.
Tbh, Mollema's tactics were pretty awful for the whole race but he recovered pretty well on Stage 19 to get a decent result.

Yeah, that's what annoyed me most, the last 3 days he seemed to remember he was supposed to try and win this race..

I already have the results for Canadian Classics and Virginia Chrono Maybe we can wrap up October within less than a week?
