Am I the only one that thinks that statement almost begs to be understood one certain way?
The fact that I’m able to finish at the front in the mountains and in the general classification means that the sport has changed since 10 years ago
"Everyone, including me, doped some years back, so I was really weak as with the same level of doping, all others are better than me.
Now, everyone but me stopped doping, so as I'm the only one left, I dominate this sport now."
(I know it's not that way, but it's just funny how it fits)

Anybody else notice how even Froome makes absolutely no mention of any illness to explain his rise? It's the sport that changed apparently.
It's also weird that only Team Sky riders profit from the sudden dissapearence of doping. Maybe Skybots really are superhumans and all the rest of the peleton just stopped taking doping in 2011 |

Had he used his illness it would have been Armstrong all over again - so probably wise not to mention it. |

Here is my theory on why Sky doesn't associate with former dopers. Sky is so good at doping and covering it up. They don't want someone who was "bad" at doping and got caught doping because then Sky might get caught

Froome does shot himself in the foot with that. Ultimately he is saying that in say 2008, when he finished 84th in the Tour, there were 83 dopers in front of him who all got caught, and now there is him left 'riding clean' to win everything
I presume it is the same when he came 36th in the Giro in 2009 as well. But the giro only had 35 riders dopers in the race!
The bit where he says he has learnt that you need to peak for the Tour is quite a nice touch as well! Almost adds some comedy to the article
EDIT: Whilst I have been a defender of Sky riders in the past, you can't help be suspicious after watching that Dauphine, in particularly Thomas. Last year, he couldn't climb for shit (excuse the french) when at the Tour, but now can suddenly destroy a peleton along with Kennaugh (whose steepest incline he has ever ridden before was the banking of the velodrome). Sorry Team Sky fanboys, this doesn't look good!
DOUBLE EDIT: Moving away from the doping angle, but still laughing at Sky: Anyone else think that it is funny that EBH moved from HTC to Sky because he wanted the leader role in the sprints and was bored of working for Cav? Amazing that he is suddenly happy to work for Wiggo / Froome instead in the Mountains and forget the sprints completely...

All im gonna say if Froome was spanish and dint ride for Sky he'd be loved, on cycling news i see the hate imo, they say to brits ha ha you only been a fan since Sky came along ,like someone said you cant help who you support, in 07 if u started just getting into cycling youd follow Contador or Schleck, i in 05 really liked Basso(yes i know he doped) so 1 shoulnt have a go at someone who supports Sky or Froome just because they only just got into cycling. We all started somewhere dint we.
And what i dont get is even if Froome is doping surely he must still be great to dominate Contador. We have not seen this dominance v Contador. I think we sshould embrace it guys because if Froome was not aroun Cntador would have another 2 TDF in the bad before the Pinot's and Quintana and Henao really dominate GT's.
If their was no Froome people would not even say Contador is not as good, it's because Froome is making people think it. As he is dominating the dual this season. Anyway i hope Valverde Quintana Purito really cause havoc so we see Froome without the train, as i think Froome would be fine he actually attacks unlike Wiggo.
No 1 can deny Contador's chances, i mean the guy is the best GC rider of his era, its just now were in a unique situation were Contador is not as good. But he will really fight, my dream is to see Andy Schleck on the podium aswell as i never use to like him, but what a shame if his talent is wasted. I hope Froome takes it though as long as it's not boring the guy has deserved at least 1 GT(Vuelta 11) and maybe even the Tour. |

Sky has enough money to sign great riders. My only problem is with Froome. If he isn't doping, Idk what can be more suspicious. It's pathetic, ridiculous, etc.

It's hard to climb well when you are in a different country at the time
And Kennaugh's 2011 included 3rd at Route du Sud and 5th at Tour de Pologne. 2012 a write off due to the Olympics, and he is only 23. Hardly a jaw dropping improvement.

How come there was no journalist there with enough of a backbone to ask him what dramatic event made the peloton to simultaneously stop doping at some point in summer 2011?

1. Thomas skipped the Tour last year.
2. Kennaugh has better climbing results at an earlier age than Porte.(https://www.cqranking.com/men/asp/gen/race.asp?raceid=12017)
Please get the FACTS right. Even if you are all going to mix them up with opinion. |

I know, I know... I got the wrong year with Thomas (I will admit to that), and I was just saying that Kennaugh has mainly a track background but was blowing the legs off more established road riders / climbers with ease at the Dauphine.
Spoiler Where is the door to leave...? I'll get my coat on the way out

It just seems Contador fans are all shouting the gobs off that he can beat Froome for doping, yet how do we know that this is Contadors new level(still a good level ovi), By the way im only saying an opinion not meant to be offesive. |

It wasn't racist at all! The same for what you said could be said for Italian riders, or even French. No nation has a 'perfect' record that makes them liked by the press
