As on the previous stage, missed opportunity for Eiking, Van der Poel, Hugenhaben to not join the break...
Keinath in 5th a positive surprise though. |

Congrats on the win, SotD! Must say that Kritsky has been impressive so far and test again here.
Thanks for the report, Tamijo

Yes indeed, it's almost scary: It's his last chance to win a GT... could it actually happen

Great ride by Tratnik. Cool to see him and former Gazelle rider Kastrantas battle it out for the win. Congrats SotD!

I guess I have to wake up a bit here to roar out the excitement of having Kastrantas in my team!
Impressive win, after having already finished 2nd on an earlier stage. I would have sweared Tratnik should beat him easily in the sprint, but fortunately not! Although a bit sour to have to share the KOM lead because Tratnik took a couple of (for him unnecessary) points. That is a minor thing however.
Great great win, and thanks for the number of congrats guys. I also owe some congrats to you aswell as a number of thanks to the guys doing a stellar job at keeping things going. All my best to you Tamijo. Take care of yourself!

We tried again.. That's good.
Thanks for another update, Tamijo. Hope this is a sign of things at least not getting worse.

At least Altur has been showing the the Spanish NC on home soil nicely, as the whole team continues to animate in the breakaway on most stages. At least their doing as i hoped, even if it brings no points also as i expected

Always good to see when the worst possible option joins the break...
but at the very least we joined it this time

Congratulations, SotD!
Nice to see Taaramae alert to Tenorio's attempt to gain seconds. Must admit I felt confident in his chances of taking those final bonus seconds and third place on the stage, but Kritskiy with a strong sprint and finish to the stage.
Key stages coming up now, with three of the next four stages having a MTF. Now is the time the time should be put back in action, hopefully forcing fights between the GC contenders for stage wins. Admittedly we'll then risk to give away bonus seconds to Taaramae's closest rivals, but I rather take that gamble and see him fight for stage wins compared to passive racing and breakaways fighting for the stage stage wins.
Thank you for another report, Tamijo! |

Getting the Team Ranking back is the only positive here really...
Losing with all our 3 GC riders more than one minute on riders like Haig, Keizer, Brambilla, Cattaneo is not ideal.
Sending Hugenhaben in a clearly too strong group neither when Olivier should do so. This way he is giving minutes to direct rivals for those late top20 spots.
Obviously still having all 3 of them within the top16 is great, though not nice if the best placed then is only 12th. |

So far not really the GT we are hoping for. Sure Pluchkin is doing fine and all, but we are invisable, not getting stage results, not showing ourselves in breaks and that way this may well end up being a very boring GT for us, despite potentially a good result. But let's wait a few days before calling it that, lot of potential fireworks still to come.

Thank you for the report. Very interesting fight among the breakaway riders, and must say Brenes was surprisingly strong. Congratulations!
But come on, team! That's just not good enough, really.
Not doing any work early on the stage, apparently. Then not doing anything to chase the breakaway with 43 kilometers left and only 5'39 to the front. when we have seven riders there, is just bizarre. We've got 1/10 of all riders in the peloton there... If this is how we're going to ride the difficult stages remaining, it's going to be a long week
It's also weird to see Galta drop this much on a mountain stage where he seemingly does nothing as a domestique on the way to the finish. We really, really need to improve. Luckily we get a chance to do just that already on stage 15 and 16 |

Jams in a GT break and even getting KoM points on a mountain stage, awesome to see

15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

On the extreme mountain stages like this we clearly get outgunned by the stronger climbers, both in the break and in the peloton. Nice win for Indosat, congrats Eden.

Nice to see Bongiorno finally trying something. He should on paper win this stage, but 2nd is OK. Unfortunately he is now too high in the GC to go for KOM i suspect.

Just as I saw this one:
This was the first time your leader did not have a good day, good to have many helpers as late as possible, no sign that he was able to close anything on his own.
If the team had worked for a stage win against that type if breakaway, to collect max points, it could have been 2-3-4 major rivals taking time on him, not just one ?

Carthy should have been in that break, not losing 10 minutes after pulling the peloton - why are we working when Cattaneo is 11th? |

Thanks as well Tamijo for all the work you are doing - you’re a champion
Stoked to have a win in our second gt - I guess just having two 3rd tier ‘leaders’ has paid dividends for us so far with Konig and Brenes. Hopefully him and Barstosz can sort out who is going for the KOM and they don’t hinder each other too much.
