Of course Pinot again I said he could take even 5 stage wins, though probably he'll stay in 4 with Teuns around to win the final stage or a breakaway

Pinot dominating the GC is no surprise given his combined stat dominance over the relatively weak competition in attendance here. When the preview came out I was questioning the wisdom of his attendance given the ppRD return for even GC victory is not that brilliant for 10RD's spent for one of the top stage racers in the division. However his complete dominance of the stage results has in fact vindicated GCN's approach, as GC+stage points starting to look very healthy (and killing that of the rest of the CT competition at the same time (with some additional help from the Amateur teams!)); congrats to the_hoyle.
Been enjoying the reports, so thanks to Roturn. The ups- and downs- of the Amateur teams has also been interesting to follow, and has brought more attention from PT managers than perhaps would have been the case in previous seasons for a C2 stage outing. In previous season Tachira has at times thrown up some odd results, there have been some minor changes to the parcours, right? If so, seems to have done the trick in this instance at least; pretty hard to argue with the general picture of how the overall is looking going into the final stage.

Indeed, adjusted the previous fake-hill stage (4), new downhill finish stage and the addition of the mountain TT as well. Happy with how it has gone also!
Pinot such a dominant factor this year, while Valls took it to the wire needing the final stage.

Pinot is absolutely crushing the rest of the peloton. Not a surprising winner, but over 6 minutes down to the closest opponent is just extreme.
Happy with Atapuma's 2nd place here, but had hoped he would gain a bit more time in the process. Henao in the white jersey is superb as well. Thank you very much for the reports roturn, looking forward to the finale! |

Preety happy with Warbasse defending himself, and seeing the team work was a big motivation seeing its a B team with just 6 riders, Pinot well I'm just waiting to see him again Kiserlovski and Konig then we'll see how dominating he can really be

Well that settles it, gratz to ste and thank you Roturn for all great reports!
Goal accomplished as the win was always gonna be hard to predict even pre-race, Warbasse has proven himself very strong in his own right, can't wait for him and Kiserlovski to work together.

Teuns getting what he come for. Still not sure if 10RDs for a stage win in C2 was really worthy. Otherwise, not a very selective stage, unlike last year, where Valls going mad for the GC win caused a big selection
Great reports as always roturn and congrats to hoyle for the amazing race Pinot had

Cool to see Teuns grab that win! Very happy to see that, I must say, as it's cool to see him take his chances now that the playing field is quite different from the PT.
But wow what a race by Pinot, and what a points haul for GCN. Makes January and the season start brilliant for them, obviously. Must admit Tachira is a race of great memories after having Alarcon here back in 2012, when he started the campaign that eventually led to PT promotion. A pity there was no breakaway drama this year, compared to 2012
Suspect GCN could make great use of this result to get one of those promotion spots to the PCT, eventhough it's very, very early. |

To sum it up:
- 8th for Bardet and was in top 10 contention even after the TT
- 7th in the team standings ahead of Stobart, Equinor and Compal as well as Andorra
- 4th in the U25 with Matte
- near stage win for Timmy Dupont and overall solid race from him
- participation in breakaways from Matte, Hughes and Degand
All in all, Adastra had decent Vuelta al Tachira. Thank you for the reports roturn, you did nice job

Thanks for the quality reports!
Happy with the active racing from Mat Senan, even though it kinda hurts to miss a shirt as 2nd in the KOM classification. Also his runner-up in the first mountain stage was kinda heart breaking, but of course it's still nice little points for a small team like Mitchelton. Jones had a Top-5 at least, but I feel like a +5 day would maybe had brought an even better stage result at some point. Anyway, we showed our colors here nicely and add to that three riders inside the GC Top - 45 and one Top-25, it's probably a good race for our standards. Can't really ask for more, even though we missed that one really lucky top day/shirt/win.

The perfect race for us really. Came for GC and we did just That.
Being completely honest though, I never expected to come away such a commanding victory, multiple victories and a number of jerseys. Beyond my thoughts and happy to start this way after a disappointing season last year.
Thanks roturn for the excellent reports and well done to all the stage wins

Congrats to Pinot and hoyle! What a win.
KoM-Jersey for Ratyi and 7th GC for Elissonde on the first race for my tema ain't that bad.
Thank's roturn for your entertaining reports! |

Congratulation to Pinot and the_hoyle, utter domination! Looks well set up for the predicted promotion push
I'm pretty happy with our 1st race in MG. Brajkovic 5th GC and with a podium in the mountain TT and Seibeb runner up on the last stage, just wish he would race even more aggresively

Dario Cataldo 4th on this stage and 3rd overall, Sota Ikibe also with some small points from KoM hunt, and top 20. That is just an unbelievable great result for us, glad I decided to use those 10 days here.
Congratulations to all those that got what they came for, and huge thanks for reports.

Happy with how the race went! Well was going to be happy regardless, we got I think one single point from stage one due to a rider in the breakaway, and then became spectators the rest of the race. Hopefully the experience for the young guys was worth it.

3 in the top 14 is nothing to be ashamed off. Campero with 10th. I think he could have done better but still a top 10 is good! Von Hoff with a stage win early in the season!! And overall a pretty good race from everyone! We leave here happy!!
Thanks for the reports and congrats to Pinot!!

Henao leaving with the white jersey is a big positive, but we got less points here than we originally planned.
Damn you Kip and Pinot!
Thank you so much for these entertaining reports roturn! |

What a way to kill the mood in that final stage. Not only Tempier dropping 10 GC spots, we also lost 7th in the U25 competition. A spot we were very happy about.
Julien Simon tried here in the end, but was no way near strong enough. That's a bit worrying. He should have made top 10 here.
Ismaël Kip was beasting the sprints with Tleubayev here so I hope they can deliver something again later, although we are not likely to see this "poor" a sprinters field in any other races.
