Thanks a lot guys... Nice to see Lecuisinier starting to become a top level rider... A little bit more training next season, and he will be close to a GT podium contender

Nice TTT, though Formolo losing 11 minutes wasn't ideal. You'd think that a guy with 69 TT might be able to hang on. But apparently the pace was too high.
And strong performance by Bibby. Shame he started the sprint way too early.
Still going strong in the TC, let's keep that going.

What can I say ...
This race has been to the image of our season a complete disaster. Being from so early removed from the fight for the top5 was not in my plans and we will see if we will be able to fight for the top 10

Wow, so close for Guldhammer! Would have been amazing to see him claim another stage win, and it definitely looked like he was strong enough to do it, but just mistimed it ever so slightly. But still, a second place is great. Big congratulations, SotD!
Kind of surprised to see Demare miss out there, as the climb seemed short enough for him to hang on. I still think he has a chance at the ciclamino, so those points he missed out on here could be crucial in the end. Seeing how the GC teams are set up, one would expect a couple of breakaways to succeed on mountain stages, and it also feels unlikely one of the climbers does a clean sweep and dominates completely, at least on paper there should be several riders fighting for the win in the mountains. |

When I said I want breakaway wins on the mountain stages, I should've clarified that I certainly didn't mean this.
Bongiorno not convincing.

Oh i think this is exactly what you wanted
At the start of the stage i was moaning about the lack of good companions for the mountains once again because that would make stage wins pretty much impossible. In the end i just laughed super hard. This Giro is nuts already. The KoM lead is sick and knowing PCM Vosekalns will probably join even more breaks.
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

I would have loved to see Lecuisinier doing a little bit stronger here to stay with the front group of climbers, but they are stronger so instead I'll be happy with climbing to 7th with also Guldhammer now within striking distance. Alarcon coming strong from behind though so 7th is probably the best possible scenario for us.
Overall also a very good stage. Chamorro climbing well and Vasyliv decently jumping to a loaned 3rd in the U25 to pick up a free point. Also still a few points gained from both KOM and PTS.
Climbing to 2nd in the Team GC too is very promising. If we can continue like this we have a real shot at winning that ranking, but I would expect ebuddy and Vesuvio to fight for it, and while we have 3 strong riders, we have a huge gap down, so if one of those fail we will lose out, and we will lose quite a bit to teams like Gazelle and Vesuvio in the final TT.
Huge congrats to Evonik for this great win and an almost secure KOM win too! Huge points from a random rider.

Some things just don't change. It's kinda funny that the KoM, probably the most random classification of Man-Game, works in such a conserted way for Evonik. Well played though, KO, congrats on the stage win as well.
GC-wise it's not ideal to start losing time already in the 1st mountain stage, especially to Lecuisinier. Still a reasona le day for us, but I'm hoping Machado can bounce back tomorrow.

What a day for Evonik. Congrats knockout!
Another steady day from Iturria and Stake Laengen. Good to see Olsson snatching up a couple of KoM points and moving up to second.

Haven't had time to comment on this so far but gotta stop by to give a few for the legend that is Vosekalns, king of the Giro breakaway. Smart and strong going for KoM points so far and an absolutely stunning summit victory. Amazing!

Wow, what a performance by Voselkalns and Evonik, gotta feel great when your plans work out like that
Solid by Alarcon, finishing with the top favourites. Really hope my team and Alarcon will try some Contador-esque stuff in the even harder stages, as we literally got nothing to lose at this point

Voselkalns is the coolest guy ever. <3
Veyhe is becoming the next Chavanne, using his flat strength for daring mountain breaks, his been doing this since his Avenir stage win! Awesome to see a Faroese rider attacking in one of the biggest races though!

Vosekalns is insane, congrats to Evonik!
Quite happy with Hirt's result, finishing with guys like Morton or Machado is surely not bad. Now in the top 10, hopefully he won't leave that area in the standings till the end of the race.
The battle for the win should be a lot interesting. Looks like it is only about three riders now. Would be quite cool to see Amador having a go for it there as he surely has the lowest amount of success out of these three.

Well, third in the TTT was cool. Everything else in this Giro, and this season frankly, has been disappointing. Thanks for the reports though.

Happy with that performance by Guldhammer. A top 10 overall seems very doable if this is his average level in the Giro mountains. Especially if he can use the next stage to gain time on his rivals, as the last opportunity on the hills.
Crazy ride by Vosekalns! And it should also mean that Evonik will have a brilliant Giro, as the KoM leader tends to be in all breakaway attempts on mountain stages.
Thank you for the report, roturn. Must say I love tha pace you're posting at, it's a pleasure to log on and then expect two stages each day |

Guess it looks like Abal will have a hard time to achieve our top 10 goal here!
But we never give up! |

First 31 riders all within the same time and then a group following at 1'30 around Carapaz, Chamorro, Vosekalns, Pantano, Ricco, Fraile etc.
Chamorro for some reason lost 4'01" and not 1'30" effectively throwing out his GC and our team GC hopes. Well done Chamorro!
Too bad things weren't ridden harder here. Lecuisinier need to make the most of those hilly stages, and he surely didn't. Also Vasyliv not very good today!
Congrats to Demare though.

Big win for Démare! Congrats cio
Good to see Olsson in the break, even though he couldn't manage to score that many KoM points. Still just good to see him up there in the KoM and picking up a few points every day.
Not super from Iturria and Stake Laengen, but not poor either. Just fingers crossed that they will be able to show themselves more in breaks when we enter the final week.

there is not much to say when the game insists on sending Van Winden 63hil for the break on hilltop days.
At least Cattaneo managed not to waste more time for the front
