Dainese getting his deserved wage hike, but I am sure that he will have a great season to prove that it was correct to pay him that much in the wages! The train of him and Konychev should be a great partnership for the long-term of the game as you get your sights set on PT!

Dainese indeed came through with some hefty demands in renewals! Guess that's what happens when you win the green jersey in TdF as an unmaxed rider Pfft Hope and believe he should be worth his wages, though. Always had a soft spot for sprinters and it's great to have a top level one in the team again.

Very much looking forward to see this pairing together, and hope Konychev will get some freedom to go for some results for himself as he definitely has the power for it. Been looking forward to see this duo maxed for years, so hope it works out Pfft

I guess Dainese earned himself this wage with that TDF last year but it does feel a bit oversized. Still, I'm very much looking forward to the duo with Konychev. Wouldnt mind them breaking the sprinter field a couple of times Grin

The release of Tony Gallopin was obvious and the only right call but he was such a cool riders over all those years.
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

He’s probably not on optimal wages, no. Did have to put in some margin of safety to secure his signature in the end, but shouldn’t be too far off either. And I wouldn’t mind that either! Grin

He really was a cool rider! So good in the TT/hills combination races and regularly on the attack chasing stages elsewhere. He will be missed, no doubt!

Wow, sad to see Gallopin going. Great rider for you and others, will miss him in the peloton and your colours a lot Grin

Big pay day for Dainese, as expected after maxing AND the green jersey...
He should already bring you somewhat closer to promotion (and away from relegation danger) - will be interesting to see which missing pieces you'll be after to target promotion Smile

Your riders are likely none of my main targets (especially with your sole Swiss rider gone), but depending on how transfers go, some of them might still be pretty interesting Wink

2024 | Assa Abloy Manager: - Gesbert and Gonzalez Salas could leave

Assa Abloy secured promotion to the Pro Tour following a nerve-racking season finale in Giro dell'Emillia, where Elie Gesbert finished 5th to lift Assa Abloy into the final promotion spot (5th) of the PCT by the narrowest of margins. Following completion of renewals, team manager 'Sykkel_Freak' opens the door for the French star puncheur to leave during the fast approaching transfer season. "We have invested a lot in Gesbert over the past few years and are really happy with his defining contribution to help us secure promotion to the PT. However, a new division means that there will be adaptions' to the team structure, and Gesbert is among those that we are open to including in swap-like structure or outright sell to raise funds for other targets. Our time trial specialist Gonzalez Salas is another one of those riders," the Norwegian manager told the press after conclusion of the season.

Overall, Assa Abloy won 3 races last season [Dainese x3], and scored 7 additional podiums [Paillot x4, Dainese x2, Chaves]. In addition, they won 3 point jerseys [Dainese x2, Gesbert], 3 youth jerseys [Dainese x3] and 5 stage wins [Dainese x3, Gesbert, Mosca]. Alberto Dainese was the team's best performing rider in the individual rankings, ending the season in 4th place with 1050 points. Following completion of renewals, the Italian sprinter has been renewed for another season along a number of key riders. However, the French time trial specialist Yoann Paillot has been released, after the team was unable to agree terms with the recent WC TTT medallist. Awet Gebremedhin, Ryan Gibbons, Erik Bergström Frisk, Kim Magnusson and Alexis Gougeard have also been released, while Daan Hoole has returned to Sony following completion of his loan spell. The full post-renewals team with corresponding wages and transfer availability can be seen below.

Congrats on your promotion! Your renewals seem to have gone rather well, though Gesberts huge raise will probably make it rather hard to find interested managers.

Loads of space to add pieces towards a successful PT season. I'm sure Gesbert will generate a significant amount of interest.

That's a hefty wage for Gesbert! Clearly a team that will need to grow into a PT outfit over the course of transfers but you have cleared yourself plenty of space for that. I don't doubt that it will be an exciting few weeks for you, best of luck!

Unlikely that I will help you offload some of your available riders this year.

But best of luck with your PT charge, can't wait to see Dainese matched at the highest level!

Huge congrats on the promotion and excited to see how navigate the landscape in PT. No idea why ( no offense to him) but Faglum Karlsson always catches my eye as a reporter and reader. Just always curious to see how he handles situations and hopefully that's for some great points this upcoming year!

Not sure we'll have a ton to talk over this year, but I wish you the best of luck!

@kandesbunzler26: Thank you! Smile Gesbert was a tough negotiator, indeed! Not entirely unexpected due to his training last year, though. I hope he will drum up some interest, but if you are right, I'm ready to back him for another season. I think with some additional training, he could take the last step into the top-tier of puncheurs with his great back-up stats and decent climbing skills Smile

@redordead: We definitely have some cap space to work with. Whether we can utilise it in a good manner is a different question Pfft I reckon the FA market will be tough to navigate with the limited top tier riders available this season.

@liefwarrior: Thanks! As the last promoting team, I guess we also are the team with the biggest job ahead of us Pfft Hopefully we can land the necessary deals to prolong our stay in PT for a new season. Will be an interesting couple of weeks!

@whitejersey: Thank you and no problem there! We have done a couple of deals in the past, and if not this season, I'm sure we'll talk again at a later stage Smile

I'm excited to see Dainese back in the PT as well. Hopefully he can continue to build on what he did last season in the PTHC races. If he can, we should be in a good spot!

@seancoll: Thanks a lot! I'm (obviously) a big admirer of Faglum Karlsson as well Smile His great prologue stat differentiates him a bit from other GC riders, and it's always a case with him of trying to gain an advantage in the prologue and limiting the damage in the following mountain stages. A great point scorer for his wage, and someone I'm quite surprised about receiving little interest for in the past. Happy to keep him in my team either way, though Pfft

@bbl: Thanks, and same to you! Smile
